I got the chicharrones and steak burrito! The flavor was there for all the food, however the chicharrones were very very hard. I'm assuming these must've been cooked earlier in the day and kept in a warming bin but would not recommend eating them if you are there for lunchtime. The burrito is pretty OK maybe lacking a bit of flavor but was a good portion size. I love the inside of the restaurant and the service was also good I'm going to give this place another try at some point however I do not think $20 is warranted for the chicharrones plate at all. read more

My son and I wanted to eat there for lunch. All the tables but one were taken. Every table had one or two period at them, so it was looking like a nice crowd for the restaurant. The server told us to sit at the lone table as she cleared the food and drink from it. We sat and the server left to serve food and didn't come for quite a while. When she did, she brought chips and salsa. I asked if she was going to wipe down the table. She said no. I said someone was eating at it. She said just chips and drink. I said I would like it cleaner. She said no. As a matter of principle, we at next door at five guys. I have no clue if they are any good. read more

Nice parking lot with a couple little restaurants to pick from in a busy part of town. There is a large menu on the wall and they will bring menus to the table for service. From the top, here goes: The water is room temperature in a plastic glass. The menu has several $15-$20 items. So be prepared. The kitchen and grill is open and gives a street cooking feel as they grill most items in the flattop. The chips are good, the salsa is very mild and not notable. The tacos can be ordered individually with several meat choices. They arrive with limes and cilantro on grilled corn tortillas. The side order of beans were as expected and no sign of a partial or whole bean in the mix. The door dash orders took over the servers so after the order arrived it was hard to get attention to pay the bill. I will try the place one more time but I do not have the feeling of rushing back. read more

We ordered with a DoorDash delivery. The food came steaming hot. My wife had the chicken burrito bowl and only ate part of it. There was very little flavor and very little spice. She was disappointed. I had a very large burrito. The spice was pretty good but not spicy enough for me. I don't know that it is worth $25. The churros were crispy on top and soggy on the bottom. Probably the best Mexican food in Grand Forks, although it's a little bit pricier than some of the other places like El gordito for instance. Very good salsa and chips with the salsa being super addicting. Burrito bowls are only okay but those aren't really like what you would want to come here for. Had a pollo burrito once which was pretty good and quite big (2 large/3 small means). Tacos are a mixed bag but generally pretty good. I would say the best are probably barbacoa or carnitas (which is more like a pulled pork here which is not the case everywhere). Birria is also pretty good, although not the best I've had. Carne asada tacos are also pretty solid. Chorizo and pollo only okay. Some people are saying it's not authentic but I largely don't agree with that criticism. It is largely not Tex-Mex however. Service is pretty friendly in general. Prices are a little high but you're getting bigger portions than in other places so the value is still there. Only thing that I'd say is really expensive are the beverages. read more

The potion sizes are quite big so you get your moneys worth. Great flavors! The chicken was very tender and seasoned well- had a little bit of a spice kick which we liked. I've been twice, and plan to return. I like the food here, it's not a standard Mexican food menu. I didn't love the shrimp tostada, but the elements were great - crispy tortilla and lots of chopped shrimp. The second visit, I had the steak enchiladas and they were delicious, and the rice and beans that came with them were very good. I would like more options (more types of tostada toppings, more enchilada fillings). I know there are a lot of Mexican/Latin places in GF, but they all have their own style and flavors, and this small, homey spot is definitely a good addition. read more

Brand new Mexican restaurant in Grand Forks! They don't even have a sign up outside yet but they are so welcoming when you walk in. There are beautiful tables and chairs and the place smells amazing of Mexican food. Our waitress couldn't speak English well, but the friend who I went with luckily spoke Spanish, so he ordered for us. Compared to other Mexican restaurants in Grand Forks, this place is one of my top choices for sure. The complimentary salsa and chips were addicting and our meal was nothing short of perfection. The horchata is more cinnamon heavy than we were expecting but we had no problems finishing it. Everything was fresh and full of flavor and felt made to order. I can't wait to go back to try more of their menu especially their house specialties! One thing to note is that their menu items seem a bit pricey than other Mexican restaurants in the ar, but if this is necessary for them to stay open (and get a sign outside eventually), then I don't mind paying a little more than I usually would for Mexican food. Food is alright, it's quick service, but the prices are ridiculous! I'd go to Charras over this place for the costs of the fast food.

I moved here from Las Cruces, New Mexico, home of the best Mexican food in the United States and someone tried deterring me from coming here saying "it's not authentic". I beg to differ. I think some people here don't like it because they're used to texmex and confuse authenticity with familiarity. The waiter was super kind and professional. I'm Cuban and my partner is American and learning Spanish and the waiter was super patient letting him practice his Spanish while ordering and having small talk. I really appreciated the attitude the waiter had towards us. Their portions are ginormous, so be sure to have an appetite. Their prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes. read more

We tried this out for lunch today. Great carne tacos and really good salsa. Prices were reasonable too.
