Also, the barstools are not the most comfy - metal stools with no backing so after 2.5 hours, we were feeling a bit achy. We ordered way more than we should've but everything just looked so good! We got the croquettes (our absolute fave), the cauliflower, the pizza du jour (I think it had spinach, pepperoni, ricotta and garlic) and for entrees we got the fish tacos and the Orecchiette. Not one complaint - everything was divine. Croquettes were melty, smoky little nuggets of heaven and our favorites bites of the night. The pizza had a great balance of flavors and the crust was thin and crispy. We were so full but had a few bites of the fish tacos and pasta - the fish was cooked to perfection and the aioli it came with topped it perfectly. Pasta was different - had a scallion cream sauce that was a nice change up from your typical Alfredo. Don't sleep on this place - the street is busy being on a main road but so well worth the visit, I didn't catch our bartender's name but he and a few other servers were super personable and friendly - gave us just enough time in between meals and personal space to not hover. Fried chicken boneless wings, which are the same as half cut chicken tenders and fried chicken sliders (which is basically a small fried chicken sandwich). As for the fried chicken sandwiches we ordered, 6 out of 10. A bit greasy and the a bun that's a bit too bready. Removed half the bun to eat. We also had wings, they were pretty good. Fried right, good sauce. Bright spot here was the service, server and bartender were very friendly and attentive. It was Friday night at 6:30 and it was slow. I think the issue here is that if you don't want a fried chicken sandwich or a burger you're gonna go elsewhere. Really need to evaluate the menu. I've eaten my way through quite a few things here over the years, and while there are plenty of good choices, I keep coming back to the Smokey and the Bandit smash burger. At this point, I probably know what I'm ordering before I even sit down. There's just something about that combination that keeps winning. The food here is consistently good. Everything I've had has been fresh, hot, and full of flavor, and the kitchen seems to have that part figured out without making a big production of it. The menu has enough variety that you can come in with different appetites and still find something you want, but it doesn't feel like one of those places with a menu the size of a small novel where you need twenty minutes just to decide what you're looking at. The beer selection is another reason I enjoy Chomp. There's enough variety to make choosing a beer part of the experience rather than simply grabbing whatever happens to be on tap. Prices are also pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, which is increasingly something I notice because restaurant prices have a funny way of creeping upward when you're not paying attention. The location is another part of the appeal. Chomp sits in a great little part of Providence where you can easily make an evening out of being in the neighborhood. There are plenty of other restaurants, shops, and places to wander around nearby, so it doesn't feel like you're making a special trip just to eat and then immediately getting back in the car. Tonight, though, I have to give a special shout-out to Bella, who was our server. She was outstanding. Friendly, personable, attentive without hovering, and genuinely helpful. She suggested adding bacon to my Smokey and the Bandit, which I probably wouldn't have thought to do on my own. I'm very glad she mentioned it because it was an excellent call. Sometimes the best recommendations are the simple ones, and she nailed it. One piece of advice if you're planning on coming here: make a reservation if you can. Chomp can fill up quickly, and given how good the food is, that really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. It's the kind of restaurant where people come back because they already know they're going to have a good meal, and I'm certainly part of that group. Five stars from me. Great food, good beer, reasonable prices, a fantastic Providence location, and genuinely good service. I've tried enough of the menu over the years to know that Chomp has plenty of options, but apparently I'm still incapable of walking through the door without ordering that Smokey and the Bandit. Add Bella's bacon recommendation to the list of reasons I'm going to keep coming back.

The Chomp Sauce that was supposed to elevate the burger was so sparse it barely made an appearance, leaving the burgers bland. Honestly, the bun was the best part. The brussel sprouts I ordered also lacked flavor and seasoning aside from the char, and his Cajun fries were so salty they were nearly inedible. After driving from Massachusetts to Rhode Island as a special Mother's Day treat, it ended up being a very disappointing experience, especially given the overwhelmingly positive reviews. We may have caught them on an unusually busy night, but unfortunately our meals fell far short of our expectations.

The Track 15 store usually is very busy. I decided to get a Okahoma Burger but without the bun.....I asked for lettuce instead. They told me that no bun but lettuce was a $4 upcharge...that to me was outrageous. Iceberg lettuce is equal or cheaper than a signature bun like theirs....asking for $4 for plain lettuce was not a good first impression. The food was actually not bad. The burger was divided into smaller pieces nicely laid on top of a bed of lettuce with all the corresponding toppings on top.
