Took the family for a drive out to Kapolei for our first Five Guys experience. They don't offer combo meals so we ordered cheeseburgers and soft drinks for 4 and shared 2 large fries. Shocking to hear our bill was $73.30, outrageous prices for fast food! We dined in and were surprised to find our "cheeseburger" was actually a double cheeseburger, not what we had wanted. We weren't told this while ordering and it wasn't on the menu. The taste of our burgers were ordinary and our fries were disappointingly soggy. They offer complimentary roasted peanuts in the shell which was a unique treat. Although there's limited indoor seating, the a/c works well and it's a clean environment. Overall, we weren't impressed with the food but would give it another try to see if we just had a bad experience and it's really as good as others say it is. read more

If you want the ambiance of an old school diner/burger joint, then you'll be pleased. The food is good, but, not great, and especially not for what you pay. Over $15 for one small burger, fries and a drink. It was pouring rain and all the smaller tables along the wall were taken by Employees. Had some customers not gotten up to leave, the 2 families behind me would have had nowhere to sit. I know the Islands are more laid back, but, any Employee should recognize who pays their salary and go above and beyond to exceed their expectations. The food was alright I guess. For a bacon burger, cajun fries, and a shake, I paid $18! That price is absolutely insane! I have no idea how they can charge this much and still be busy. I thought it might be like an In n Out type of joint but nothing like it at all. Way over priced for average food. Nice people and all but definitely not worth coming here for what they charge. $8 for a small burger is one thing, almost $5 for a small cup of fries is crazy. A lot of colleagues and friends have praised this place for a while and I decided to give it a try. All I got to say is "not as advertised". First off it's like a $10! Burger which wasn't even that big. Secondly their fries were super over priced. $8 for a large And when I asked , the lady said that it would feed about 4-5 people. When I seen it...yah 3-5 fries a person. Anyhow unlimited toppings was as advertised but you can only fit so much on a hamburger so I don't know what "unlimited" means. love 5 guys!!!! single patty burger is their small burger, so if you are hungry then go for the double patty. I love that you can add whatever toppings to this and it is grilled fresh right in front of you. The milk shakes are amazing I always get Oreo or Strawberry. I also usually get protein style burger which is a burger with out the bun, wrapped in a large lettuce leaf which is 100 times better than In and out!!!! Recently I went and asked the cashier what she eats and she said "grilled cheese with jalapenos, peppers, onions, and BBQ sauce" so I said ok Ill have that. I figured I wanted to try something new everytime. and honestly it was AMAZING!!!! The staff is really friendly and the new mall is beautiful and clean. Two starts cause I ate the whole thing so it wasn't that bad. Price are insane though, I know I'm in Hawaii but $28 for two burgers and a drink. A little too much for something's that is not even that great. The cheese I swear tastes like the Kraft cheese from the store. First time at Five Guys in Hawaii. Been to couple on the mainland and always enjoyed their burgers. This one, the same enjoyed the burger (3.5-4 stars), nothing gourmet, but overall a good tasty burger! BUT then the price! Wow 'guys', over $20 for a burger/fries/coke? Tried Five Guys for the first time today, wasn't disappointed! Great food, awesome/friendly staff, prices are on the higher side but meh. Range is roughly $7 - $12 for burgers, drink about $3 and shakes for $6. I really enjoyed my baconcheeseburger with mushrooms, I'llprobably get ketchup next time though :P Would recommend as a fun hangout or just to grab a bite to eat. read more

For me, the food was nothing great or special, but a perfect spot if you want a decent burger, fries, and a shake. The best part of our experience was hands down the service. They were all so friendly, helpful, and accommodating (we were a group of 6 plus a baby who needed a high chair.) Decided to see what the fuss was all about and since I'm a "townie" I decided to give this burger joint a shot. Big mistake! Not only was the burger and fries overpriced, but the bun was soggy and the fries over cooked. I don't know why I didn't take Yelpers ratings more seriously but I wanted to try this place because of my curiosity. I ended up paying $13 for a small burger and fries. What a rip off! I'm never coming back... I should've stuck to my instincts. Anywhere would've been better than this place...I knew I should've went to that new Jollibee instead. I am a fan of Five guys everywhere. This location is very expensive. Meal with 2 little cheeseburgers close to $30. The patties are kind of small to my eye compared with Midwest although that may be a reaction to high prices. I eat here all the time nevertheless. Been here every once in a while since they opened, and the experience was decent. However, been here about 3 times in two weeks and service has been excellent. Stopped in today on July 23 at 4:30 pm and me experience made me write this review. This place is very simple and makes really good classic burgers. Staff here appears to enjoy their jobs which makes the service superb. Fries are made fresh, burgers are always consistent and really good. Restaurant is very clean and neat. Plus free peanuts. If you are a hamburger person, I think they whip up some pretty unique burgers. The menu and style of ordering kind of reminds me of In-Out but still kinda different. For people with peanut allergies, they should stay away from this place because there is a ton of peanut that they use to cook things and stuff. You got to choose your burger base, like for example a plain hamburger, and then you can choose any sort of toppings that you want like lettuce, cheese, mayo, tomato, etc. The toppings are all free. The price ranges from about 7-10 bucks for a burger. They also give out free peanuts on the counter that you can munch on as on appetizer. The vibe and feel is very old school Mid-Western style kine of atmosphere and service. The burgers overall are pretty darn good though. In regards to location, you cannot really miss it, which is on near the front of the food area entrance of Ka Makani Ali'i Kapolei mall. Sometimes it could get really busy, especially during the weekends. They have a decent amount of table and seating area inside and outside of the store. read more

Aside from the price tag of $10.49 for the cheeseburger, $5.49 for regular fries, QC must have taken a nap. Ticket was correct, but darn it if they didn't skip the mayo and put nasty tomatoes on it. The place was frenetic, with a long line and only one register open. The grill was fast, but the condiment person was slow. The two girls on fries were unbelievably slow. We had a chance to eat here last week! Let me say that the service was really quick! Every thing was fresh, I had just the regular cheeseburger an my wife had a bacon cheeseburger she also got a shake and we had fries. Food was good nothing fancy just burger and fries, shakes. We have tried there other five guys in Colorado an there great too! Although it's pretty pricey for HI spent close to fifty bucks but I would recommend trying! read more

I've been here a couple times already and I must admit that their burgers are pretty good. I'd give it five stars if it weren't for the prices. Pretty steep for just a burger - fries and drinks are bought separately. When my husband and I went we both got cheeseburgers, one drink and one regular fries and it came out to $30~. I was at BonChon Chicken earlier this day and they made us wait an hour. horrible service and when we said something they didn't even offer to make it right with at least even a free drink after we had sat there for an hour -all they said was 5 more minutes. this five guys gave exceptional customer service. I really think their neighbor needs to walk over and see what good customer service looks like- the person at five guys taking my order accidentally added on an extra sandwich when my husband questioned the total, she ran right in the back and called a manager to correct it. while they were trying to refund the amount back to our credit card we realized that we still needed another sandwich for my son so I told them we would take the extra sandwich and they refunded us the money anyway even though we told them we'd pay for it. In Addition our food came out fast and hot. kudos to Five Guys for exceptional customer service. I love going there I'm always happy with their product and for BonChon Chicken take a walk next door and have your employees trained here! Actually if BonChon had even apologized or even offered something I probably wouldn't have even taken it. it's not the point about the money or the free soda or the free sandwich. the point is there was a problem and they at least make an offer. this is my problem with many restaurants and customer service places nowadays if you are in the service of customers do anything to make it right! read more

The hype on five guys was definitely hype. The restaurant here is not the same as the ones in the mainland. Personally, I think the five burgers in the mainland are much better so it makes the one here more disappointing. The burgers are not really any special. The prices are kinda expensive. The French fries are suppose to be fresh made in house and they are alright. There are other burger spots you can hit up for a more reasonable price. read more

Had the best dining experience tonight. Made the drive from Honolulu to Kapolei just to check out Five Guys. We were greeted by Keely who was ultra professional with a lot of Aloha spirit. I had the double bacon cheeseburger with Cajun fries and vanilla Sprite. My dad had the bacon hotdog all the way with regular fries and peach lemonade. The food was big time ono! Super tasty grilled mushrooms and onions. Fries made with real Idaho potatoes. We will definitely go back to Five Guys. Mahalo Keely for the million dollar smile and great service!! read more

Called in an order, told the girl I'm gonna be there in 10 mins, I show up, pay for it, there's some problem with the register, manager comes over, he can't figure it out either, she says "ok I'm gonna write this down so they start making it", I'm like "what? what was the point of me calling it in?! I'm in a rush, why didn't they start making it when I called?" she says "they don't start making it until you come in and pay for it." So I say "what's the point of me even calling in an order if you don't start making it?" Manager says "if you would use the app we can start making it." So they're telling me there's somehow a difference between me calling in and me using the app?! If you're in a rush DON'T go to this place. This was at 330 on a Thursday, they were not busy and there was nobody even in line when I walked in.
