My mom always told me if u can't say something nice keep ur dam mouth shut. With this place omg it was worth the trip just for the cajon fries. The hot dog was OK but I ate my fries and half of a lady fries sitting next to me because she couldn't finish them. I had them back home in NJ and I forgot how good they are. Just sitting and eating cajon fries out of a greasy brown paper bag brought back so many memories and made me homesick alil. The only reason for two stars is because their food is good. But what happened to their service? My boyfriend went there to order takeout and he said that that experience alone makes him not want to go there ever again. First he orders the little bacon cheeseburger meal and the cashier, who seemed to be the oldest of everyone working their was super sassy when she said, "We don't HAVE meals here." Um, I'm sorry, did you get personally offended that he used a term that's common in other restaurants?? Second, he said that while he was waiting for our "meals," he saw a customer who was dining in there go up to the counter and let them know that they forgot to put in his bacon. Right after that, our order was ready. He had a bad feeling about it so he decided to deconstruct his burger to make sure that his bacon was in there and, sure enough, it wasn't. When he went up to the counter and told them, he said that the guy constructing the burgers just turned around and laughed. They asked him if they wanted him to put it on the side or to put it on his burger, since he had it opened (and deconstructed already), he asked to just put it on the burger. While the boyfriend was trying to put everything back together, the person just stared at him and asked, "Um.. is there anything else?" Like he was rushing him! There was no apology, no offer to rebuild it, nothing... just a laugh from the kid who has no accountability for his actions or the company he is working for and thought it was funny that he was shorting customers of what they were paying for. Seriously, if we're going to pay $17 for a MEAL..oh excuse me, they don't HAVE MEALS... for a burger, fries, and a drink... you would think that the company would offer better customer service AND RECOVERY training to their employees. read more

This place deserves zero stars or even negative 5 stars. The pricing is waaay to high. Took my elderly father and 9yr old so . Left paying $52 for fries drink and burgers. The burgers can only be done well and I saw why cuz they're like 1/4" thick. The patty is tasteless...so bland. The fries are super exepnsive, like the medium size is almost 7 bucks! It so wasn't worth it. They're only redeeming quality was the Cajun spice they put on the fries. I left feeling unsatisfied and broke...completely a ripoff. Five guys burgers is winna, burger patty are 3.6 ounces, so if you get the regular burger it's comes with two pattys, Two pattys!!!! That's 7 ounces of meat, the fries is really good, Boardwalk style has a firm outside with a mash potatoes finish ohh yeah!!! Price wise is nothing, you want cheap go somewhere else, but if you want quality and good experience, FIVE GUYS got you cover, think about it, you go out eat at other places( L&L , Zippys etc....) an spend the same amount but don't see anything in the prices, apply that same thinking here. We took a drive from the east side to Kapolei and decided to eat a burger. While waiting for my order, I was able to watch them cook and put the burgers together. To my dismay, I saw the cook turn to the counter with the burger on the spatula she used to take the burger off the grill and the burger accidentally and fell into the stainless steel counter before it could get to the bun. She stopped and realized it landed on the counter and then the boy working, who I guess wraps the burgers, then proceeded to just pick up the burger with cheese with his gloved hand from the stainless steel counter and proceeded to place it on the bun and wrapped up the burger and stuck the receipt with the number on it as if it was ok. As a customer who saw it fall and get picked up with a gloved hand and you don't know if the counter and glove was clean was disappointing especially when everyone is concerned about germs because of covid. I was also disappointed that at least 2 workers saw what he did and didn't think that it wasn't sanitary and should tell the boy to make a new burger and not use the one that fell. I told a girl working with the fries about it falling and asked if I could have a new one instead. I also spoke to this person manning the sodas about what happened when he went near the pick up station where my burger was sitting. He said they clean the counters but he understands if I want new one. Too bad to see this, especially when everyone is trying to be sanitary because of covid. It's scary to think I would have eaten a burger that was handled like this without knowing if I hadn't seen it happen. And to think I added 15% tip to help them out when I paid! I just ordered two little bacon burgers one with lettuce mushrooms mayo and ketchup and the other one with mayo lettuce mushrooms hot sauce and A1 sauce and a little bacon cheeseburger with mayo grilled onions and lettuce. Two out of the 3 burgers had bacon. The burger that had no bacon had no hot sauce or A1 sauce. The burger that was suppose to have grilled onions had no grilled onions and the strawberry shake was like strawberry milk. This is the first time i've experienced a problem and it's kind of shocking. read more

After the hype has kind of died down for the Hawaii natives/residents I decided to finally eat at 5 Guys here. I live in Mililani (their other Oahu location) but was in Kapolei for work and saw that they had a location at the new mall. I've ate at 5 Guys on multiple occasions in Oregon and Virginia and its honestly nothing all that special. Don't get me wrong it's not bad it's just another chain of restaurant out there you decide to eat at when you're craving a burger. The reason for the three star review is due to getting our order wrong on two of our sandwiches. Order wrong meaning - forgetting to add the only two toppings we wanted on the burger. I've worked at a burger joint while attending college and it's the same format - you order at the cash register, select your burger and toppings of choice and a receipts prints out with the sandwich type and toppings wanted for the employees that prep/create your sandwich. How can you forget to add a topping when it clearly states it on the receipt that is placed on the actual sandwich order itself? I can understand if it is a load of toppings and one was overlooked but when I just wanted an add on of bacon added to my hamburger and it's missing that's kind of a disappointment. They also weren't busy. Order was fixed by just giving us the toppings on the side in a piece of foil so A-OK, just a little inconvenient having to take bite and not having what you ordered as what if we did take out and left. Pros: Free peanuts, chalk board sign tells you where the potatoes are from, has one of those digital coca-cola machines with endless choices of drinks, it fronts the parking lot meaning easy access, establishment is clean, cashier/employees are friendly, another taste and familiar establishment of the mainland in Hawaii. Cons: A bit pricey as you buy burger, fries, and drink separately (it adds up), based on my experience double check your order before leaving for take out, establishment has limited seating inside. I've been a long time five guys lover since about 2009 when I lived in Georgia. I came a few months ago and the flavor was great, more expensive than Ga, but still good. I came tonight and my burger had no flavor despite the toppings. It's like they grilled it with no salt, no pepper, no seasoning. My husbands burger was the same and he had two patties, so that was hard for him to get through... The milkshake was supposed to taste like Oreos and tasted like whip cream only. I was disappointed in everything tasting so bland because I normally love Five guys... my Cajun fries were good and it was a great serving... I'm super sad about this visit. This place is over rated. We ordered 2 double bacon cheese burgers, 2 fries, 1 fountain drink and a small milk shake and our bill was $47 and there was NOTHING SPECIAL about them! We could have gotten 3 full meals at Teddy's Bigger Burger for the same price and better tasting burgers. Even if someone else wants to pay for our food in the future, I would tell them to take us to Teddy's Bigger Burger instead. Teddy's Bigger Burger is worth all our hard earned money and we have and will tell everyone we know to take their hard earned money to Teddy's Bigger Burger! Did like their fries, you can share a large fries for up to four people. if you are budget conscious this place is pretty pricey. Trying to be DC in HI. First, the comp peanuts were mostly stale. Had to ask to have the outdoor table wiped off after the previous diners left it a little messy. We ordered a Bacon Burger, Cheese Burger with Everything and a Little Burger with Mushrooms with a side of fries. They made the Little Burger with Mushroom with Cheese by mistake and had to make it over again. I love the burgers here! Better than In-n-out for me! Wide variety of toppings and they cook the patty fresh in front of you. Love the fries and milkshakes here. Good customer service but I went in after the lunch rush so they weren't busy at all! The "cheeseburger" on the menu is actually a double cheeseburger, 2 patties, and the "little cheeseburger" is only 1 patty, so keep that in mind. Their "little fries" can easily feed 2 people. The burger was pretty good but still doesn't compete with in-n-out for taste and price. That's where I get to the bad The price for their food is outrageous 15 dollars for a fast food burger and fries. 18 dollars if you get a drink. For that price you are better off sticking to restaurants many of which offer better burgers for similar prices. If you want fast food dining stick to butler king, McDonald's, etc... while the food quality isn't as good; you will not break the bank eating out. I wanted to give this place a try because my friends have all said that it's good! I love a good burger but this place is a little too pricey for what you get compared to other places. All in all for a burger, fries, and fountain drink it cost me $20. Not what I would call a value, but they do let you customize the burger and you can even put a considerable amount of toppings on the burger. They also have free peanuts to snack on while you wait. Burger was pretty big size but nothing special (teddy's was much better flavor ) and fries was so cold and wet with oil? But I like there drink machine. Clean restaurant because it is new. They also give complimentary roasted peanuts. However, the quality of the burger and fries is not worth the price! It is very expensive for a sub par burger. Some places are worth trying at least one time despite the price, this is not the place.
