Go to this place if you like standing in line. We stood in line for about 15 minutes, waiting to place our order. There's only one cashier, which to me, is stupid. My daughter placed our food order using their QR code. My son-in-law and I wanted to get some beers. So, we stood in line again. Yes, another 15 minutes. While we were standing in line, our food came to our table. My wife and daughter started eating. father placing our order for our beer, we sat down and began to eat. My son-in-laws beer came but my beer didn't. We asked the girl delivering the drinks about my beer. She said she would check, but never came back. I had to flag down the manager and explained the situation asking for a refund. Well, I got the refund but the receipt was confusing, so I had to ask the person making the drinks. Recently visited this location for our coffee fix. Entering, line was a bit long but the wait wasn't too long. They took our orders pretty quick as well. I come here on my own sometimes and I bring a book with me or something to work on. I love getting their Lox bagel with the side salad it comes with. Before switching it to fries, try the salad at least once! I think it's really good, I never swap it :). They get busy but the line usually moves quick and they have lots of seating inside and some outside. They now added QR codes if you're planning on dining in, you can just seat yourself, scan the code, and order from right there instead of waiting in line! Super useful when I don't have a lot of time. Came here for the first time. We ordered Kimchi fried rice, Eggs, sausage, and rice, Waialua Moana Açaí Bowl, the Original Açaí Bowl, and for the drinks, the blended Vintage Kona Mocha. Service wasn't the best, I understand that it was Mother's Day, However, service could have been better. My drink wasn't the best tasting one and consistent with ones that I've tasted previously. I hadn't been to the Kapolei location in quite a while, and I noticed they now have a new ordering system. You can either stand in line and order as before or grab a table, scan the QR code, and order and pay directly from your phone. We decided to try the mobile ordering option. I ordered the Original Acai Bowl. As always, the presentation was beautiful, but the acai itself was disappointing. Instead of the thick, spoonable consistency I was expecting, the base was more like an acai smoothie. If I wanted a smoothie, I would have ordered one. The toppings were great, but the consistency of the acai really changed the overall experience. Service also felt minimal. Since we ordered and paid on our phones and had to get our own water, the only service we really received was having our food brought to the table. We still tipped around 20%, but it didn't feel like the level of service matched the tip. Overall, this visit didn't live up to my previous experiences here. While I appreciate the convenience of the new ordering system, the change in the acai bowl and the limited service make me question whether I'll be returning anytime soon. read more

Today we had brunch at the Island Vintage Coffee restaurant. It's a local restaurant frequented by locals and located inside of an outdoor shopping plaza. They have ample parking in an adjacent lot, plenty of seating, and very clean. The servers are friendly and helpful and can answer all of those questions. We ordered a few ham and cheese breakfast croissants which came with a side salad, a Keiki breakfast plate with sausage, egg and furikake rice, and a lox plate which came with smoked salmon, boiled egg, tomatoes, onion, avocado and three slices of bread. The lox also came with alfalfa sprouts and a side salad with balsamic dressing. The açaí smoothie was delicious and perfectly sweetened and they use soy milk in case you are lactose intolerant. Headed over to Island Vintage Coffee to meet up with one of my best girlfriends to catch up and hang out for a bit. I've been here before for business, but this was my first time actually eating--and my friend's first time visiting at all. I chose this spot because as a vegan, I know they have healthy options, but also a wide range of food so there's really something for everyone--and I was right! Neither of us were disappointed. You do have the ability to order online and they have a good system for their hot food and cold food for pickup. There was a bit line to order, but went by fast. We ordered the Lilikoi Manoa Acai Bowl and Lanai Smoothie, Honestly, my family and I were completely blown away. It was so fresh and the flavors balanced each other well. Love this location. It's big and very roomy. It does get crowded fast which attests to how great their food and beverages are. My friend and I both ordered the Lox Plate with sourdough bread in place of bagels. It was so delicious and filling. My friend had a regular latte and I had the lava latte which was so good. I have never eaten here until today and it was amazing. The food is worth the money even if it is pricey. If you order the right things you won't be hungry! We ordered the braised beef loco moco and the ahi katsu sandwich (2 breaded pieces of fish in one burger) I couldn't even fit it in my mouth. I took off one star cause the coffee is not that great especially for $12 for a 16 oz. Also the coffee comes WAY after your food. Ours came half way through the meal. I actually worked at island vintage for over 4 years a few years ago and would say I have a greater appreciation for their menu than most. I recently visited to do some group trip planning with friends. I got there 20mins early and saved a table. I usually do this because by the time you stand in the long line and order you're stuck looking for a table, so I snagged a table and waited for my friends before standing in line. I haven't been sitting for more than 5 minutes when I was approached by a worker and asked to order something because they need the table for paying customers. This was kind of a turn off because I came here all the time during college to study. I would be here 5days a week for months and would always order something. This was not the customer service I was accustomed to. And coincidentally after being approached my friends arrived and we ordered our drinks and food. I could understand if it was busy but there were plenty of open tables.... I ordered my shoyu spicy tofu poke to be enjoyed in house. They gave my order in a plastic to go container, which was fine but I would have preferred the dine in plates. It tasted great as it always does, but did not enjoy this huge piece of sea asparagus that I found in the salad! It was kind of lazy and made it hard to eat the salad. Find some place to sit and they will bring the food to you. Wait time is surprisingly not bad since the place was packed. Acai bowl comes in a large coffee cup Smoke salmon plate was very good. I pick to have a half papaya instead of Kamuela sald. Ham and eggs croissant with breakfast potatoes. Halaiwa Ice Tea is very good. Pros: Halaiwa Ice Tea is very tasty and refreshing but you got to like pineapple. Food is aways tasty. Cons: The breakfast potatoes was alittle burned or you might say overly crispy. Traveling with dietary restrictions is always hard...and it gets even harder when there are other religious or allergic preferences thrown in. Island Vintage came through so so hard when on this family trip with my parents who are lacto-vegetarian and also have an egg, onion, and garlic aversion. As you can imagine, this is really hard to juggle when dining out as most vegan, savory items inadvertently contain onion and garlic. Island Vintage has an expansive menu with plenty of omnivore, vegan, and vegetarian options. The staff was also super helpful when having to modify certain dishes to be without onion/garlic. I will also say their portions are HUGE so definitely plan on sharing, being super hungry, or having leftovers :P All great options imo. Standout dishes for us were the vegan tofu kakiage poke, the vegan "egg and bacon" sandwich, the potatoes, and the avocado toast. The kakiage (aka tempura or pakora as I jokingly called it) was super tasty and the vegan tofu poke was delish. This came on a heaping salad and healthy portion of rice so seriously a giant dish, very filling. The vegan egg and bacon sandwich was also huge and the vegan bacon seemed to be some smoked tempeh which was good! The sandwich was giant and I had a hard time getting a proper bite but good overall! The avo toast was a classic and came on some good sourdough. We were able to modify the veggie bagel to be no onion/no garlic (semi-jain, allium free) by subbing the pesto with regular cream cheese and swapping to a taro bagel. There are also sweet options like yogurt and papaya and pastries that are already friendly for this diet to begin with. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside though it can get crowded at peak hours. The outdoors is nice with more of a garden feel whereas the inside can be great when its too warm/windy/sprinkling. Prices are fair for the portion and quality. Parking is in a lot but can get crowded. Really recommend this spot overall and appreciate just how accommodating they were. read more

Idk about but the right way to eat a loco moco is with over easy eggs to give a that meat even more moisture. The salad that comes with it gives it a nice fresh touch. The portion is pretty huge, too, so I like saving half for another meal. The manager was super sweet. Idk how this happened but we were just tasting bottles at the wine bar and a few bottles ended up drying out so she assisted us so patiently. Lol. My aunt loved the wine bar as she loves wine. We love that you're able to taste it and then serve yourself a full or half serving. The ambiance is super chill. It has a nice local island vibe. The choice was hard as they have an array of menu items from breakfast through dinner. My amazing dining partner, our local Yelp Community Manager, StaciLei went with a lox benedict and I with a poke bowl. Both were presented beautifully and tasty, but extremely pricey. The cute little orchid flower placed on the plates made it cute. The Island style plate looked loaded but certainly needs a local addition of gravy or side, otherwise the plate is dry. The sprouted five grain rice, shoyu and Portuguese sausage are good. I would recommend the Taro bagel and Acai bowl (Hawaii serves the best Acai bowls). There is a whole parking lot with bathroom facility available at the rear side of the premises. The plate portions are small and can easily be finished! Or be ready to jump on to the next food spot. I ordered a strawberry matcha ($10) and was given a number. It's open seating so I chose a spot indoors but with a view of the outside. It was a little busy with people coming and going. By the time I left, there was a musician playing live music and you can tell the ambience kind of shifted from lunch to dinner as more and more people stopped in for a bite rather than to sip a drink and have a snack.
