The food meets the standards of a Five Guys restaurant. But, more than that, the staff went above and beyond when we dined in yesterday. Our 8 month old grabbed and pulled my wife's hamburger to the floor. When we went to order a milkshake, they gave us both a replacement hamburger and a milkshake for free. I wouldn't do much for a Klondike bar, but for Five Guys fries? Look out. This location is in a tired strip mall on 30, but the restaurant doesn't look as run down as the rest of the shops, and its parking lot is always hopping. Food is consistent and you can't beat the options for either a burger or hot dog. The Hubs has a gluten allergy, so we've long frequented Five Guys and opted for the lettuce wrap/bun-less burger, but they're one of the few chains that actually has a separate grill for the burgers -- most places toast their buns on the same grill as they cook the meat, and for someone with a true allergy (not just a low-carb preference), that cross contamination can lead to unpleasant consequences. For COVID, they have easy online ordering or call-ahead, and they used to text you and bring the food out to your car -- they had a few parking spaces closest to the entry way reserved for pick-up customers -- but the last time we visited, those parking signs had been removed. Staff is friendly and courteous and always quick to help if there's a dirty table or condiment missing from the condiment bar (next to the soda machines). The cleanliness sometimes gives me pause -- not so much the tables as the soda machines. There's usually a lot of sticky residue and ice melt/splash on and around the machines, so it makes it hard to tell whether they're cleaned frequently or if people are just that slovenly. Bathrooms are another cleanliness point -- the few times I've had to use them, they've been pretty gross. Now I know to go before I stop by for lunch or dinner. read more

Quentin, the Gm, literally argued with me for 15 minutes over their milkshake machine being defective & even his own employees noticed it before handing me the machine and the best they can do is "make another one". It has been 2yrs since I have ordered take out. It will be at least another. Shortly after ordering on the app I arrived at the suggested time. I proceeded to wait 35min for my order reminding the teenagers working there that I was still waiting. Only to watch the next six couples and families walk in and order after me and receive their food. I finally gave up and asked if I had to re-order my food. The teenager cook said sorry I left it on top of the fryer. He jokingly said do you want me to remake it. I said I don't feel like waiting another half hour. Tasty! All the fixings are for free (e.g. grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, etc). Had the little cheeseburger, yum. Tasted like a homemade grill burger actually. The staff was friendly! I only dislike how the burgers are cooked ubber well-done (like borderline overcooked). But I guess safe is better than sorry for this chain! Had the cajun fries -a bit overwhelming in terms of amount of the spices they added. I think I will stick with the regular fries. The regular sized fries are HUGE, fed two people... and we basically threw most out since we were stuffed. read more

I am so glad something is surviving in this spot... and even more excited that it is a Five Guys! If you've not been to a Five Guys then you have to at least try it. Burgers are made to order and are cooked juicy with a crisp edge... the why the good Lord intended them. Warning, if you order regular that means two burgers... so if you are a light eater then go with the junior. Think of a classic drive in type burger, wrapped in foil and served greasy and hot. If you are looking for healthy low cal options... DO NOT try. This is a place to eat a real burger... not some tofu-turkey-garden burger, you are barking up the wrong tree. The fries are cut fresh, and they even post where the potatoes are from. The classic fries are great, but I'd also recommend the Cajan fries if you like a kick. A decent comparison might be to adding old bay seasoning to the fries, though it is not an exact match. It is yummy and after trying them i've never turned back to the classic. While quite addictive and extremely delicious; you have to limit your visits... only to insure your waistline doesn't grow. read more

Went there today and just ordered small fries to go for $4 and some change, when I got my order, I checked it and the fries were limp and looked like they had been fried for awhile. I told them that for $4.00 they at least should be crisp and not limp. They apologized and after 5 minutes gave me a bag of fries that looked like all they did was re-fry what I originally got. I was in a rush so I was not able to return them, but all I had were greasy, limp and some shriveled up fries. When I got home I threw them in the trash. I will never go to Five Guys or recommend it to anyone else. They can't even have decent fries and they charge that much for Kid's size fries. Johanna read more

Burgers, you want burgers, you get em here, you want to try ok burgers for cheaper, walk 30s to the mcdonalds next door. These burgers are awesome, Nice amount meat, good flavor, you order 5 guys burgers by saying a want a hamburger or cheeseburger, and it's plain, go add what you want, i usually get lettuce tomatoe and pickles, very minimal. The bad thing is they rip up the burger to check for doneness, at least you won't get a bad stomach, but if you bite wrong into the burger you can feel the slice open, other than that, really burgers are great here. Kid operated, nice kids, clean, and very minimalistic, you want free peanuts, big box right in front, you want a line at the counter? they make a line with bags of potatoes, you want your order fast? nope they cook it fresh when you order, so wait a bit for good quality food. GF loves the cajun fries, i prefer to have the fries at mcdees 30s away, they just taste better w/ the beef fat! read more

If you are hungry and you love a basic burger this is the place. I usually get a small (which is kind of a misnomer because it is still pretty big) and then fill up on their fries. However, don't miss the other offerings like the hot dogs. They have a bacon dog that is amazing. Best things to remember -- 1) Regular burger is really 2 small patties. 2) Large fry is huge. Don't go in a hurry because there is often a line and they cook to order so it can take a few minutes but it is well worth it. read more

Heard this was "all the rage." Was told that the burgers were "sooo f*$&N Good." Honestly, I can say I was not impressed. If I wouldn't have been REALLY hungry, I would have not ate it at all. Yes, it's nice they use a "different kind of oil" than most places and you can order online, although their app is glitchy... however the overall taste seemed very plain. I ordered grilled onions and they were still pretty raw... the meat has a dull taste, no real tenderizing or seasoning. In all honesty, I failed to see, or rather taste what all the fuss is about. Save time and a few bucks and just go to McDonald's... it's right next door, or drive down the road a bit and buy some Arby's. read more

I've been to most locations in the Lancaster/Berks area. I speak for 5 guys in general. The food is always consistently good. This isnt fast food. I guess a premium fast food experience and for me their is no competition in regards to similar chains. Been around too. If you read my reviews you will find I'm on the search for the perfect burger. In the premium fast food segment 5 guys is #1 for me. Philly raves shake shack... nah ...Cali raves In-n-Out...not even close. Wayback... some locations are ok. Some other honorable mentions but just imitators in my book. Smashburger you know who you are. If you're on the same mission I am you'll try them all but always be back. read more

It's your standard Five Guys. Good tasty burgers though surprisingly not as greasy as others Five Guys that I have eaten at. Fries were good, but the portion was actually smaller than others. All in all, your typical Five Guys except with much better lighting - it was definitely brightly lit. Anyway, not much else to say. read more

A few years ago this location was our first Five Guys experience. It was great and have patronized many Five Guys locations alway consistent and very good. Unfortunately when we visited the Rt30 location in Lancaster PA on 6/1/19 things did not go too well. The burgers were way overdone and dried out and the large fries were a bit skimpy. The staff was great and made a new burger for my wife but it also turned out overdone. What a bummer. We were really looking forward to a great burger and fries but this day was a giant disappointment. Oh well. :( read more

I have found that Five Guys burgers are pretty consistent, but the fries are very inconsistent from location to location. This location always has good fries and great burgers. We usually go there for lunch or for dinner if the Red Lobster across the parking lot is too busy. The service is always friendly and the place is kept pretty clean, even during the busiest times. read more

Loved loved loved five guys!! I went to my sister's graduation and decided to try this place for the first time while I waited for the ceremony to begin. I'm not much of a meat eater so I ordered the veggie burger and some fries. The burger was delish! I admit..while waiting for it to be cooked, I started questioning my order and almost regretting it. I thought that it was going to be a veggie patty that almost tasted like cardboard. NO! instead of a patty it was all veggies. They were nice and crisp and it almost tasted like meat. The jalapenos in the bun went unnoticed and my mouth was on fire for the remaining hour that I was there. The fries were amazing, the bags of salty peanuts places around the room were tasty and the staff was very friendly. Would deff come again!! read more

Very friendly staff. The regular size fries were enough for 2 people to share 1. Very tasty fries, I got a cheeseburger with free toppings, it was ok, not the best burger I ever had. Went here 2 days. It was my first time having a burger here. My son been here many many times. I was like wow lots of different flavors of soft drinks. Flavor I had was awesome, raspberry coke a cola. My burger was fresh and toppings was goods also. Now the workers who were in the dining area asked.me and.my son if they could get anything for us. The BLT with cheese was so good. The fries are the best in my opinion. It is a little expensive but it is well worth it. The soda machines are cool and very good combinations for the drinks. I definitely recommend this burger place, the staff seems to care a lot about their costumers. read more

F. zimmer- Feb 10,2018 the volume was so loud at 4:30pm I had to yell 5x as loud has possible to give LOUIS- MY ORDER. I ask the empoyees to turn down the loud high volume sound and was refused. the food at the Centerville store is great but the music noise will give you a headache. if you have young children or over 50 clients your ears will hurt after this visit. Monday-2-12-2-18- EAst Hempfield Zoning told me I should call the police dept if the noise is so loud. read more

The first time I ate Five Guys was a terrible experience. Someone got take out for everyone at work and no one let me in on the secret that a regular hamburger is actually two. And that an order of fries is far more than any one person can eat. Mid meal I was pretty sure I was having a heart attack. I vowed never to eat there again cause who wants to eat a meal and then feel that terrible. But I did go back with my boyfriend but this time ordering very strategically. I get the small hamburger, no cheese or bacaon or added fat and greese. And we always share fries. They are good so I don't want to skip them altogether but sharing is a must. He always gets the grilled cheese with tons of veggies on it. He really likes it. If you do go there, just be careful cause if not you will want to vomit. read more

These burgers are way better than any McDonalds or others fast food chain. The customer service at this location here is awesome too! I stopped here to eat with my family and after a reasonable wait time for a packed building we ate the delicious burgers and the manager came out and made sure every table was good. He even asked us if he could get us a new order of fries because they "looked" a bit over cooked....they tasted fine. By far the best service I've ever had at a restaurant!
