This little ice cream and comfort food shack has been the local mecca for after the game ice cream cones for little league teams since I can remember. This is one of the places I miss most after moving to NC six years ago. Luckily my entire family still lives in the area, so every time I come home in the summer (it's closed in the winter), I have to hit up Dottie's. I remember coming here after track practice or meets in high school for a peanut butter cup cyclone (like a DQ blizzard). My all time favorite, and what keeps me coming back, is the pizza burger (sauce, no onions) and fries. Yes, it's greasy and full of FAT, but I can't think of anywhere better to waste my calories:-) Bring cash, because that's all they accept...and lots of it, because it's fairly pricey, but worth it! read more

stop by for what used to be a good steak ,, bread was ok steak was very dry ask for sauce , onion there was none . there wasn't hardly any cheese.. fry's where good, very expensive for what we got.... we get same size at other shops and much better and cheaper. tony .s read more

i have been going here for years. last week 7 2025 i went and was very very disappointed. why?? food wasn't very good sub roll was dry and crumbled apart in spots on a cold ham sub. next they have 3 different menues showing 3 different prices on the web site window pictures. when we got home they charged me $55.41 for 2 pizza burger sandwiches also a small cold cut ham sub and a thick malted shake but didn't taste malt! i checked my bank and there it was $55.41!!!!!!!!!!!! went back to get refund and they gave me $18.00 back in bills. they said that was the menu pricing taped by the cash machine. 3 prices were :: 1. $29.68 including tax. 2. $26.24 including tax and 3. 33.13 including tax. how they figured i get $18.00 is beyond me but it was wrong!! they need to do some serious revisions to their food and cost. jj guess that's all there is to say. never again thanks. read more

My husband absolutely loves the cheesesteaks here. They are enormous! I also love getting a cheese sub from Dotties. And their fries are great too! We eat here a few times a month during the season. Never any complaints. read more

Dottie's is great. They offer different varieties of subs, sandwiches, burgers, fries, ice cream and shakes. The food is really good. I normally get a burger and have yet to be disappointed. THEY ONLY EXCEPT CASH just FYI. If you choose to stay there and eat they have picnic tables outside, but no indoor seating. They are open during Spring, Summer and Fall. Very nice little snack bar. They also have subs and steak sandwiches. I had a cheesesteak that was EXTREMELY overwhelmed with salt.

Although the cheese steaks are BIG and meaty Not enough Sauce on them. I prefer more sauce on my cheese steaks.

Great place, 42 miles from me but a great small town to visit and enjoy some old fashioned soft ice cream and a burger and fries. Cashier was a young lady by the name of Hannah, A real asset to the business. I'll be going back. read more

Holy cow their cheesesteaks are HUGE!!! Delicious meat and their special sauce is awesome. Their fries are the small thin fries we got 2 larges for 3 people and it was way too much. My son had a burger he said was delicious and my daughter had a grilled cheese. The staff was ok. They definitely expect you to know what to order. I'd go back... but. Wasn't the best experience. Went here because a friend loves this place. While waiting on my cheesesteak I witnessed one of the workers that was preparing the rolls with cheese for the cook at the grill, licking something off her gloves and proceeded to keep working. I still went ahead went ahead and ate my cheesesteak to find a hair in it. It was not a human hair but from a pet cat or dog wasn't sure. Will not be returning here. Quarryville. Ahhh. It sure is what it is. A shack in a parking lot only open seasonally serving up big subs and delicious ice cream. Sure makes me proud to be American "I'll tell you whut" (Hank Hill voice). The cheesesteak is probably the best on the Southern End but if we're being honest here that's really not saying much. The roll is so-so and needs more cheese. The meat is pretty good and I like that the onions are small and mixed in. But again, needs WAY more cheese. And holy heck are they expensive. Overall the steak gets 2/5...3 stars for nostalgia reasons. read more

Honestly, I don't know where Tina is getting her information from. I've been eating at Dotties for 20 years and have never seen problems with cleanliness, infestations or people spitting into the food. My mom works there, I've been in every part of the business over 100 times and never once were there bugs or food on the floor. But enough about debunking a total idiot. How's the food? Cheesesteaks are the best you can get in PA and that includes Philly. Burgers are fresh, hot and made to order. The fries? Best available from a fast food place, in my opinion. Only problem with Dotties? They only take cash and the food is a bit expensive. Expect to pay 6 bucks for a Quarter Pounder, fries and a drink. Small Cheesesteak with fries and a drink will run you 10 bucks at least. The good thing is, if you're eating alone even if you get a small steak you'll have leftovers. I've never finished a small steak and small fries on my own, and I've been eating there for 20 years. You'll want to bring a friend to enjoy it. Bottom Line: Dottie's has been a Quarryville mainstay for 50 years. One of the best little places to eat in Southeast Lancaster County. read more

The food is good and so is the ice cream. HOWEVER, they need to be mindful of their posted hours. They say they are open until 9 and they often have everything closed up by 8:15 even on beautiful evenings. God forbid someone in Quarryville might want some ice cream past 8:30. read more

M- I recently had a cheese steak from Dottie's and though it wasn't awful it wasn't that good either..and it doesn't compare to a Philly cheese steak (I was born & raised in Philly)..and the prices are somewhat higher than the competition. read more
