Vera's Burger Shack has become our go to place for a fairly priced burger. I just don't believe burgers should be in the $25 or higher price range. I ordered their Tuna-Up burger and it was cooked perfectly with all the right flavours. I use to order the tuna burger all the time when it was available at Brown's Social House. Although it wasn't on the menu.....I was able to order it and the kitchen would just cook it up but not anymore. For me, the tuna burger is what I enjoy since I find it as a healthier option. If you're like me and really enjoy tuna........you have to try the Tuna-Up at Vera's. Its fairly priced like their burgers. Onion rings at Vera's are well made...perfect amount of batter. The only thing I don't like about onion rings in the amount of oils that drips from them.....hey, you only live once and its well worth it. GO and try their Tuna-Up burger with onion rings! Great customer service and good food. Food is made to order and fresh off the grill. I really like that Veras is in Port Moody, I like that they support the LGBT community and the pride parade and I like that offer so many toppings and specials. I like the decor. I really like that Veras uses good quality meat and fresh ingredients/toppings, the soda machine is very flavourful and bubbly, I like the craft beer and alcohol selection. The portions are good too. They have many different specials for the day or different sports events. I really like the veggie burger, I would recommend it with two patty's since it's very light compared to the beef burgers. I like ordering my burger with "the works". The bathrooms are not gender neutral at this location but they are clean. Ordering ahead is very easy and stress-free/simple. read more

Decent burger for lunch but I was the only one in there today and almost did not go in because the door handle and glass were filthy and to boot there was still a Christmas ornament hanging there...a sure sign the owner does not care or pay attention to their business. Another sign...menu prices out of date. They charged me 1$ more....why isn't the menu board current....you knew for months min wage was increasing....that was the excuse staff gave me. When I saw the sign go up that Vera's would be opening in NewPort Village, I could not believe my luck! This is my favourite place for a burger and now I wouldn't even need to venture outside of the TriCities. I visited Vera's on Thursday night and was not disappointed. I ordered the Canuck burger (patty, cheddar and bacon) and added my faves (mayo, lettuce and pickles). It tasted just like I remembered it to. Amazing. They also do takeout and have a crazy assortment of goodies that you can add to any burger. All burgers are cooked to order so they are extremely fresh. read more

It's not my first time at Vera's, and have had decent meals in the past. However, I have found that the service is going down hill, and I may not return. My most recent experience has me and my daughter waiting 15+ minutes for a Canuck burger, the place wasn't crowded. When it arrived, it wasn't cut in half as we had asked, and was missing the bacon AND cheese. When I took it up to the counter, the guy rolled his eyes with a heavy sigh, like I was being a pain asking for the correct toppings. No apology, just another 15 minute wait, until he practically through the plate on our table. Even my 7 yr. old daughter recognized his attitude and asked " what's his problem?" When I'm paying $20 for a burger, fries and drink, I expect the order to be right and hold the attitude!!! read more

I'm so glad that Vera's opened right in my hood. It's nice to have a more gourmet alternative to the usual fast-food burgers you get in the 'burbs. If you're not familiar with this chain, then be forewarned that Vera's is pricier than a fast food joint, but the quality is infinitely better as well! The burgers are HUGE (1/3 lb I believe) and there is a pretty good selection of items you can add for free to customize with. Some of the more expensive add-ons have a price associated with them, but if you get whatever the daily special combo is, you're looking at maybe $12 for a meal that you may not even be able to finish. I HIGHLY recommend the chili cheese fries and the milkshakes are pretty good too. Also, if you don't want to eat in, you can pre-order online and then pick up at a designated time (with a credit card payment). If you're looking for a delicious and more gourmet burger, go check out Vera's - you will not regret the decision! read more

Terrible. We ordered 'the Natural' burger. Literally had NO taste other than the salt and pepper we put on it. To boot, 2 burgers (with very little dressing), fries and a pop for 2 people was $36.00. There's no table service but they also ask for a tip. Never go back there again ever read more

Not thrilled with this location. Fries & Meat were unseasoned & flavorless. Service was lackluster. No eye contact. No smile. I tried extra hard to be nice & thankful. We tipped generously. I said please & thank you as much as I could but he was still just grumpy. We asked if he had club soda and he said no. I found the hidden soda tab on the pop machine & mentioned I found it & he got defensive. I didn't mean to make him so-I know it's a hidden button sometimes. :( I don't like to feel like I have to work hard for good service. He should be working hard to make serve me well read more

My second favorite burger joint in the area after Five guys. I prefer Vera's burgers to Five Guys, but their fries are not great. Go for the onion rings instead! Decided to try Vera's because we were tempted by their flyer. The hamburger bun was delicious but the hamburger itself lacked taste. If they could put the Five Guys burger inside the Vera bun then you could have a melt-your-face-because-it's-so-good burger! Good food. However I was just told at 8:30, half an hour before closing that they were "closed" for pickup orders. In the past they usually only take 5-10 minutes to cook the orders so I figured half an hour before closing would be more than sufficient, but apparently not. read more

Avoid at all costs- my family went last week and watched in horror as the chef proceeded to put down his cell phone and then pick up our burger buns to prepare our food. As soon as he was done handling our food he was back on his phone. Burgers went into the garbage. $50 waist of money. Reported it to the health department.
