This company works with the Ahwatukee HOA RT2. They cannot seem to manage a timely response and meanwhile, the roof is not repaired. Notified the HOA in December 2025. 5 guys scheduled an appointment early Jan. I had someone go sit with the home so they could inspect the roof. No one showed. We find out the guy decided to come early but did not contact us. Of course, no one was at the house. They did not tell us nor call to validate if that was okay. Person acknowledged 1 repair point; we suspect there are two on a tile roofed home given some indicators. Rescheduled to have the guy come out so we can show where the other location. The person did show and made a note. Now, a third appointment was scheduled without notifying us. The appointment is scheduled for MARCH. It takes 4 months for 5 Guys to do their job and report back to the HOA? Then there is a long HOA process. So we have a problem with the roofing, and who is going to pay for any indoor damage if it rains? Their ability to follow up and to provide any customer service is poor. read more

I'm confident our roof leak was just the chimney cap, but they replaced the flashing around the chimney. Then it leaked again on the chimney cap, and they came and did what I suggested to begin with - just patch the chimney cap. They honored it under warranty. After the big rain in October 2025, we had a leak, and called them for an estimate. We arranged a time that was a 2 hour window, and they never showed up. I called the office without getting anyone. I had a terrible leak during the recent storms and called Five Guys to check it out. They came out within a couple days, before the next storm, to check my roof. Although the leak was not on the roof, they identified a crack in the parapit wall and sealed it at no charge. I worked primarily with Dave Nichols (account manager/primary contact) and James Jagelski (project manager) with 5 Guys. I am happy to write this review, because we had such a good experience. What stood out: Price: We found 5 Guys' bid to be very competitive. They helped put the roofing project within reach. Communication:  Whether it was for a question, concern, or clarification, when I called, Dave almost always picked up right then. If he didn't pick up, he called me back very swiftly.   Responsive to needs:  They are swift and thorough in their outreach. They actually did what they said they would do and they did it WHEN they said they would do it. Teamwork/Collaboration:  They were collaborative with us and with each other. They created a group text between us and their team, so we were all on the same page. Notes/Visuals of Progress:  James sent us updates daily and explained the work in progress notes which he texted to everyone staff and to us. Progress notes were accompanied by pictures or video and with drone photos. Workmanship: The grounds were checked daily for nails, they cleaned up their messes and if on the rare occasion we identified anything they missed, they were very quick to take care of it. The end result is that things were tidier than one would expect of a worksite, and our roofs looked really sharp!  We are really enjoying the finished product!   Looks great!! Do not use Five Guys!!! Our commercial building has had nothing but leak after leak after leak, almost immediately after having them replace the roof with their "10 year warranty". Who cares about a warranty when the work done is complete crap. They have been out over 20 times to warranty their poor workmanship while the inside of my building and products get soaked from non stop leaks. Again DO NOT hire these guys! if you want a job done right by a company who even cares about their work go somewhere else. I contracted Five Guys Roofing 2 years ago to re-roof my home which is a flat roof and tile. They were low bidder and offered a 10 year warranty! I had just had a previous roofing contractor who I called on a warranty claim who sent me an invoice for $250. When I pointed out the work was done under warranty, he got upset and said he would no longer honor the warranty. So, after doing my due diligence, I contracted with them hoping for a better experience because they promised an annual inspection with any repairs completed as necessary. Well, after year one, they inspected my roof and said they wanted to refresh some spots which they did. Now, it been almost 2 years and after a strong rain, we did see some discoloration in our ceiling where we had a pervious leak. I called and they sent a repair team out to make the repairs- no questions asked. Not only that, they are sending another guy out to make any necessary repairs inside our home! Just a heads up. I don't recommend Five Guys Roofing if you are looking for a quality roof replacement. I spent over 14k on a new roof and the attention to detail is incredibly poor. Pics attached, and these pics are after I pointed out the bad areas. They finished and left the house leaving behind equipment. I had to call several days later to have the supervisor come out and point out issues and take the leftover equipment. Overall I am disappointed in their quality of work. read more

My warning to you - DO NOT use this company. I purchased my home Apr 2021 and started minor demolition, flooring, complete interior painting. Then roofing. Then landscaping, then exterior painting. Five Guys first reroofed my 2,200 sqft one-story home in July 2021. They were a referral from a trusted friend who had used them a few years ago. Round 1 of my roof, a complete reroof with double underlayment. My yard was left a complete mess on the DAILY - nails and trash and tools all over, and even a gas can that would have stayed on my roof overnight had I not called the company to come cleanup and remove the gas can. Yes, gas can - during monsoon season with lightning. When a job-site (or workspace or kitchen, etc) is left in a poor condition, you can expect that the work done is also poor. As a result I wanted the job reviewed by the owners, so I refused to pay the 30% that remained. Justin came to my home. I told him I wasn't paying until I had an independent inspection. Justin asked if he could go up on the roof and I said yes. When he came down he said he'd either refund my money, or, as he preferred, he'd make it right and redo the roof. He admitted to finding single underlayment in places, bad flashings, a laundry list of errors and poor workmanship. I agreed to the re-do because he said he would personally supervise the job, and I thought I'd give them a chance to fix things. Round 2 in Aug 2021, and in between I had my yard landscaped. Re-roofing started, but I was informed that Justin had Covid and could not supervise the job. In hindsight, I should have demanded the job be postponed. The crew did not cover my yard and pool until I called and screamed, and yes, I still picked up nails and trash. They drove a trailer over my new lawn. The landscaper repaired the damage. The crew threw metal pieces off of my roof onto the lawn and driveway near my car, when a dumpster was only 20 feet away. Again, bad experience. Round 1 round went two extra days. Second was finished sooner than expected, but they started earlier on Saturday than I asked, waking an exhausted and grumpy me up early after a long work week. Forward to Jan/Feb 2022. My roof is leaking. My newly painted walls and ceilings have large cracks and bubbles, and the ceiling is drooping in numerous locations. The items increase in severity and number after every rain. My new floors are bubbling and buckling. I put in a warranty claim with Five Guys. The inspector came out, and had to come out again because of course management needed additional proof. Either the inspector lied to me - he felt the damage was indeed related to a leaky roof due to plastic battens, nails that were too long, shoddy work around the chimney - or management didn't believe him. Whatever happened, I needed to host yet another Five Guys visit. On visit number two, a sprinkler test resulted in me with towels cleaning up a wet mess in my dining room. Five Guys's official response to that was that they will only redo a 10' x 10' section of my roof. I've done two additional things since having the warranty inspections: I've had a second roofer quote repair and they said there's so much wrong - battens spaced too far apart, single underlayment in areas, rotted wood not replaced, tiles not wired in, tiles already slipping - that it'll just be better to reroof. I've also had a restoration company come to check my interior and my roof and the inspector said yes, there's water damage (measured with a dampness gauge), and signs of leaking throughout the house. He also said the roof is very poorly done and even has large holes. And after I mentioned to Five Guys that the second roofer found single underlayment, they asked me to tell them where, and that they'd address that, too. I did not inform them of the restoration inspection. It's looking like I'll need to reroof, repair drywall, repaint ceilings and walls, fix flooring and baseboards, and repaint baseboards. Even more renovation than I needed to do when I originally purchased the house in April 2021. And I'll likely have to stay somewhere else during the work. Just be careful - if you choose Five Guys you may be risking your home, your financial investment, your personal time, and your emotional well being. They may over time fix the parts of the roof that they choose to consider covered by warranty, but in the meantime you'll be left cleaning up the interior pieces, spending your own money to do so, spending precious personal time, having to take time off from work, and spend your own weekends to deal with a huge mess. PS - the second opinion roofer I called guessed who did the roof, and told me some choice stories about the kids choosing to focus on toys and vacations rather than ensuring good work. And when I called Five Guys about the warranty and asked to speak to the owners, I was told the owners were in Cabo. I'm not creative enough to make this stuff up! read more

When trying to get an estimate on a roof repair in Mesa I called five guys Roofing. They were great - set up A time and date. They sent an estimate for an entire new roof. There was definitely wind damage on the roof where the wind had blown up several sections of the roof. The insurance company requested that we get estimates for repair. Again I reached out to five guys Roofing. I was informed that they would let Jesse know and get me that estimate for repair out ASAP. To review, I requested Five Guys & Jake earlier for detailed proposal. I know exactly what I need, not another hop up there . $150 premium was asked for. Then I let go, so Jake "the snake," steps up : says they'll communicate with metal guy to complete estimate using shared details. In this context, its ~2000SF asphalt shingle conversion to standing seam 24 gauge metal 20" interlocking panels, 1.5 inches tall. Part numbers for APOC self-adhesive underlay available as I'm no longer a Spring chicken at this. SO in hopes of feeling all the love of the smiley Lisas, Melanies, Jessics, Heathers out there, fully satisfied ladies who know how to rate 'em, I expected a robust confirmation from my guys out there in Gilbert. But when I called emailed and texted back for follow up on its nonperformance, nada, you could hear a pin drop as emails, texts, voicemails, etc., got crickets in reply. When I came a knocking at their website (13 days later), chatter Hailey, hissed back, no engagement here, bro [warning, "and be nice."] To Hailey and this curated collection of 'oh so satisfied' ladies, how can you engage with a player who says one thing , delivers something else? So there's that. Hailey's not a "wicked snitch" per se , another paid shill. Living the infomercial dream, yes. Worst service i have ever seen. They started the work in the winter, first knocked not my heater, was a struggle to get them to come back to fix it. then was come back in the summer to finish the job, put a hole in my ceiling, and had to wait for the drywall patch to be done. the project manager stated he would be out to cover the hole, and never came. They did not cover the cars in my complex, and we had such a mess. The whole process was a nightmare. They got plaster on my furniture and bedspread. read more

First, this review is for a project June 2024. I wanted to wait and make sure it has rained multiple times. Second, they were knowledgable, prompt and patient. Third, not only were they all the things I described, they had to deal with our previous contractor who was unable to do the proper install of the roofing and Five Guys had to not only fix his job, but still managed to do an incredible job with having our previous contractor calling them non-stop trying to get them to lower the price. We ended up paying for it because our previous contractor did not have the experience to take on a job like ours. Lastly, they even sent us cookies after the job was complete. They were awesome and I would use them again. Also, did I mention that they even came out and placed the tarp before even giving us an estimate, so essentially free-of-charge. Charged me $275 dollars to rehang on fascia tile and replace one with the wrong color, size and style, the billing said they replaced 5 tiles, redid caps and hauled away trash, original bill was $ 375, no visit from supervisor just two crew men who said Justin would call , never did, nor anyone else, so they blew a $14,000 reroof job I told Tyler they could have, after this experience no way, advice run. read more

Two stars for customer service. ATROCIOUS at best. Got a bid for roof repair. They charge $49 just to come out. They do not apply that to the job cost. So I get a bid and call within two days to get the repair done. Four weeks later and four or five phone calls later, they get me scheduled. Original time was between 10-2. Fine. The day before I got another email time changed 11:30-2:30. Fine. I called to ask if they could call when they're on their way. Since the repair at my daughter's house about five minutes from me. I was told ok. 2:30 comes, no roofer. So I call them and I was told they came out in the morning. No call nothing. So I drove into the garage when I got there and out when I was leaving. Come to find a half dozen roofing nails in the driveway. I don't know if I picked one up into one of my tires. Not acceptable. Not a good experience read more

WORST experience of my life. Where do I start. Little job of replacing shingles on a 14x14 Gazebo. Also replacing rolled roofing on a 14x20 patio cover. I have attached pictures of my gazebo roof. The job was finally finished yesterday, from the initial start date the beginning of Sept. Used nails that poked through my roof and looked awful inside the gazebo. Cut them off and had to spackle and repaint, which they did. It now looks ok. However the exterior of the roof looks like crap. Shingle don't lay flat, I feel a good wind and they will be torn off. The Patio cover, looks just as bad and they did come back and roll it and try to patch it up with caulk to hold it down. Salesman came out 1 time , apologized and sent another crew to fix it up, they did the best they could. TRUST me go elsewhere. When I decided to go with them they had good reviews, hence my decision. Well apparently things have gone downhill. I have pictures and lawyers to hold up my 10 year guarantee, "if they are still in business". 5 Guys roofing was amazing to work with. I called 5 Guys Roofing over a year ago due to significant ceiling damage caused by a leaking roof. I had been off work due to Covid and a new roof was going to be a financial hardship at that time. 5 Guys worked with me and worked out a payment plan that allowed me to replace the roof. I have a mobile home and their are complications when reroofing them. I have had several leaks in the same area since the roof was replaced not due to their workmanship but due to the fact it is a mobile home . Other homes in my community have had similar issues when they had their roofs replaced. What has impressed me is that 5 Guys has come out several times to remedy the problem. They stand behind their work and have been courteous and professional each time unlike some roofing companies. I highly recommend them and Tyler who has been a pleasure to work with. read more

I finally found a roof company that stands behind what they say they're going to have great follow up and they don't try to sell you things that you don't need would highly recommend them.
