I received a very reasonable quote within an hour and when I called back to schedule an appointment, he answered the phone and scheduled the installation within a few days. The morning of appointment I received a text msg, indicating ETA for his arrival. He and his co-worker did a great job installing over 13" of insulation in our garage attic! He took before and after pictures of our attic. The inside temperature of our garage feels much better now. This is a small owner-operated business who knows how to take care of their customers. A couple even came by to look at the job site and make recommendations about the type of installation they thought I needed. After talking to four or five firms, Milton from Izzy's insulation reached out to me and made the most practical recommendation based on my unique situation. We ended up going with a blown in fiberglass insulation of R 38 and 13 inches. His price was the best by a few bucks, but I particularly liked his practical recommendations, and so ended up using him. He booked me out a week later and showed up exactly on time and had the job done in just a couple hours. He even provided me with before and after pictures that I can use when I submit my taxes for an energy tax credit. Very straightforward and honest service I recommend if you're looking for installation to talk to him at least. As it ended up the insulation did basically nothing to help with the temperature in my garage. If others are looking to do the same thing, I tell you to look at a combination of insulation for your ceiling, walls if needed, and the inside of your garage door these metal garage doors really radiate a lot of heat into the garage.

Thermo S and another company's estimates came back close but with very different approaches to cooling down a bedroom that was always hot. In the end, we decided Thermo's solution sounded more logical. In the end we went with Thermo S because of Caden's expertise with duct work. He recommended duct sealing and adding an extra vent in addition to insulation. Day of, the team showed up on time, did the work efficiently, and cleaned up their mess. The difference was instant. The air felt cooler coming out of the ducts, the A/C comes on less, the hot bedroom is cooler, and the house is quieter. I do have bad allergies/chemical sensitivities and the duct sealing was rough but after 3-4 days the smell faded and it's been fine. I would say communication with the office could have been better but they always returned calls the same day. All and all a very positive experience--I would highly recommend Thermo-S.

They wanted to charge me another $155 dollars for an after hours call to come back out. The reason I was needing an after hours call is because you didn't fix the issue the first go around! They also said I was told a bunch of things I was not and that I said things I didn't as a reason to not rectify the issue. Went with a more honest company who didn't even charge me a service fee (even after I insisted) since this sketch company charged me for pretty much nothing. Save the money and headache, go somewhere else. The funny part is we have another property with a 30 year old unit we need to replace and we were going to use this company. So grateful this happened when it did so we didnt go with them, who knows what sketching shoddy job that potentially could have turned out to be. Dodged a you know what.

Charlie, Tony and their entire crew was a pleasure to work with. They came highly recommended. After setting up an appointment for a bid, Charlie came to my home to inspect. I was pleasantly surprised, he used a drone to do the initial roof inspection while we watched, he pointed out existing problem areas and walked us through what he would do to correct it, along with explaining all the options available in current roofing materials. Charlie, Tony and all of their employees were easy to work with, professional, very courteous, always on time, or early. They carefully cleaned the area of nails and debris after each day's work. We have a lot of landscaping next to the house and they were always careful not to cause damage. Felipe always went the extra mile to ensure good quality work, he always took time out to answer my questions about work in progress. Unlike the roofers that put my original roof on, Felipe took the time to cut all of the tile to an exacting fit, he made sure all the tiles were straight and was quick to correct any imperfections. Charlie came to do the final inspection with the drone, he and I looked at every inch of the roof. It looked great. S&R Roofing of Gilbert will always be my go to roofer and I would recommend them to friends and family. Charlie offers a fair price and stands behind his work. read more

I was dazzled by the star rating of S&R Roofing on Home Advisor. But, I had a quote from another firm with a high star rating as well and they were twice as much (literally) as S&R. My first impression of S&R was from one of the two owners who agreed to give me a quote on a Sunday. (rain was expected and my roof was in trouble) Charlie was pleasant while paying attention to business. I hired them a couple of days later. While the work was going on they stayed in touch by email and phone. There were a couple of unavoidable delays, but there was always a phone call. The job was a flat patio roof that was 16 years old. Several things that weren't apparent showed up in the process, a lot more plywood was needed than expected, some rafters had to be replaced, and scuppers had to be removed and renewed. I watched the work closely (I'm retired) and was sure they would want more $. That was not the case, I paid the quoted price, and, on top of that I received an attractive thoughtful gift. I am happy that I now have a go-to roofer. (Charlie was eager to show me the roof with a high end drone used in their business, but alas, FAA required software wouldn't let it take off because of proximity to an airport) read more

Our roof was over 30 years old and needed to be replaced. I live in a community where the HOA requires certain roof warranties and visual "specifications". I knew some in my area had had difficulties with compliance. I obtained several estimates. For the most part each assured me all would be well. The bids were pretty much the same amount. I finally decided on S & R because Charlie St. Clair's presentation was confident and reassuring. Over the next two weeks he never failed to answer follow up questions or pressure me for a decision. Now the job is finished and I couldn't be more satisfied. The crew was always timely, professional, and courteous. They worked diligently and took care to leave the work area clean and orderly at the completion of each workday. The supervisors, Brian and John, were attentive and explained the process thoroughly while assuring me S & R stood behind the work. We were very happy with our dealings with Charlie St. Clair from S & R Roofing. After searching and researching we entrusted Charlie with replacing our (flat & tile) roof. Charlie came out and gave us a fair and honest assessment of our roofing issues. We had several quotes and went with S & R. We have a combo of booth flat and peaked tile roof- single story. He had his flat roof team come out first and then another crew came and did the tile portion. Charlie came out several times during the process and then at the completion to make sure things went smoothly. Each day the workers put away items and cleaned up the mess from the days work. They were on time and very professional. Charlie came out and flew a drone over the house and took pictures of before and after, which was impressive. We are super pleased with the quality of work and general professionalism of S&R Roofing. A co-worker originally recommended S&R after I told her we were unhappy with an unreasonable previous bid by another company. Charlie with S&R came out with his drone and showed us areas of weakness with our roof (which fully coincided with areas inside where we'd experienced some water damage, unbeknownst to Charlie). The crew worked so incredibly hard! They finished earlier than projected and COMPLETELY cleaned up after the project as if they'd never been there. They did this each day they were on site. Also, we recently had our house painted. S&R asked for some of the paint to take care of the flashing ensuring the roof pieces all matched. We've since had a few rain storms and everything seems to be functioning as it should. S&R was flexible with scheduling and easy to work with. We would definitely recommend this company! read more

This company is fantastic. No sale pressure. Very upfront, personal. Charlie showed up as promised. The BBB gives an A+. The team showed up daily between 7-730 AM. Throughout the day one of the gentlemen would walk the property to look for trash and inspect our pool for nails. They would end the day with a walk about as well as blowing down our property. Not only did they blow down the property, but they also cleaned up the street so that our neighbors and us did not end up with the trash blowing through the neighborhood. At one point Charlie showed up with his drone to inspect and show us our roof. Very Cool! Tony, his partner visited the job site daily, he answered our questions and check to see if any issues. Over the years we have dealt with contractors and this company has to be, by far the most consciences with regards to other people's property. Charlie gave us a quotes to replace our roof & redo our upper walk deck in the summer of 2022. Our original roof was leaking in a few spots and the walk deck was past being worn out. We limped along for another year then called him back in Aug 2023 and he stated that the price would only go up maybe $1000 ($500 roof/$500 walk deck) due to material increases. His crew did an amazingly fast, efficient and clean replacement. They started on a Monday and on Tuesday night a major storm hit the area (many downed power lines) so we weren't sure how much was completed at that point but it looked to be about 90% done. As high winds and rain hit the house for over an hour we held our breath - not one leak anywhere. This company delivers - great service at a very affordable and competitive price!! In fact, the final price ended up only being $500 more than the year before. Well done and thanks!! read more

We had been getting roof replacement quotes and quotes for adding a full back patio after the roofing job. Charlie came by and gave us a roof quote the same day he reviewed the roof, his price was lower than others and his recommendations for the job were better. They started the job quickly. Charlie was always there monitoring progress, and as we spoke to him he informed us that he could also give us a quote on building our patio. I definitely made the right decision in hiring & R to completely replace my roof. Charlie, one of the owners, was always great in returning my calls, emails or texts in a timely manner. He uses a drone to show you everything, which is a plus. He is personable and was a pleasure to work with. I also had the opportunity to meet the other owner, Gerardo Rodas, who was on the spot with some touchups at the end. Brian Rodas, his son, added some extra insulation during the process. The situation with my roof was a difficult one. The drain responsible for draining the flat roof over my kitchen is old and is run on the inside of an exterior wall. They recommended sealing the and putting in a scupper. Concerned about the aesthetics of the house. I just wanted a new drain put in. Even though they said it wasn't the best choice I was stubborn. They were professional and attempted to do the impossible with this drain. Called them out 3 times after the drain because it was leaking into the house. Finally I gave in, and had them install the scupper wich looks great and they even did the work under warranty for the drain. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone in the gilbert or phoenix area who needs quality roof work done at very reasonable prices. read more

Really happy with the service and workmanship from both the sales team and the actual roofers. It was truly a pleasure to work with all of them. The roofers really took pride in what they were doing. Any issue or questions I had they were quick to respond and resolve. A week after the job I had such a small and minor item that was nagging me and I reached out to them. They were quick to respond and fix it for me. The really spent extra time on helping me select the right shingles and tile too. And provided great insight on different options. Even got a text message over one weekend from the sales team sending me pictures of some other options they just saw while they were visiting one of their suppliers. It is scary finding a reputable roofer and after a bad experience 9 years ago with a fly by night outfit I feel extremely lucky to be referred to S&R Roofing. I HIGHLY recommend S&R Roofing. Our new roof is built to last and was a complete tear off and rebuild with substantial repairs and reinforcements to our Ridge Points and Guzzets to prepare for a solar install. I choose them from reviews I read and they were local to me. I like to support Gilbert companies. It was the best move I made.. Charlie's crew came a day early and got right to work! They also finished early after working 8am-6pm. They worked tirelessly. Out of 3 bids his was the most reasonable, they were the only ones who could start when we needed him to (which was ASAP) and their bid was all inclusive. No extra charges or fees for any plywood or facia that needed to be replaced or repaired. AND their warranty was the longest (15 years)! Making the appointment with Evelyn (owner) for an inspection by Cameron introduced me to their exceptional courtesy and good product knowledge. Detailed results of the inspection with optional pricing was received the same day as the inspection via email. Together, their presentation and pricing convinced me to select this company over two other bids from well-reviewed companies. My very positive impressions carried forward throughout the process to replace shingles on my house, an 8' x 10' custom shed, and the bonus - a large, custom doghouse. Their four-man crew worked quickly, confidently and congenially. Matt (Production Manager) and Geoff (Project Supervisor) went beyond the extra mile to provide a wonderful, customized solution to my concerns over the appearance of the new chimney cap. This is our second time using First Response Roofing. Found a roofing piece in our yard after the…read morelatest storm and wasn't sure if it was from our house or not. I also thought I saw a cracked tile, but it was hard to tell from ground level. Evelyn promptly answered my call and set up an appointment to have Geoff come take a look. He texted about 15 minutes before his arrival and included his picture so I knew who to expect. He was exceptional! Told him the concerns about the roof plus a gutter area where water was overflowing during downpours. He walked and inspected the entire roof, found where the piece we had found belonged and put it back in place. He checked the gutters, making sure they were level and free of debris and made sure the area of concern looked like it was functioning correctly. Explained why the the spot was likely just getting overwhelmed during our downpours. He patiently answered all my questions and concerns and provided very helpful info. Hopefully we won't need a roofer again until our underlayment needs to be replaced - but if and when we do, this will be the company we go to. By the way, they will come out and inspect for free - and if there's anything minor they can fix while they are there, there is no charge. Amazing!
