The burgers are unmatched -- but have you tried their hot dog? It's flippin' fabulous -- and they make a mean grilled cheese, too! I have a date here almost every Friday with my daughter. We started this tradition a few years ago when she got out early every Friday for school. We've come to know the staff well and we look forward to our visit. I know we're not the only regulars. I have heard the staff chatting up many, calling them by name. The music can be a little loud for some, but that is part of the Five Guys formula. It's been a while since Ive eaten at a Five Guys but I am glad I tried it again tonight, I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger but somehow ended up with a Double Bacon Cheeseburger (no complaints from me) and it was one of the better Burgers I've had in a while from a fast food joint. I also ordered the Cajun fries but honestly wasn't a huge fan of them, especially because they don't taste good in Ketchup or Fry Sauce so the only good way to eat them was dry and that just made me thirsty so I'll stick with the regular fries next time. We went in on Tuesday at about 5 and there was no line and almost no customers. The menu is a little overwhelming with all the options and the cashier was patient and nice with my kids. 5 Guys in Southtown Sandy does not care one bit about your food. I ordered a burger tonight and it was raw in the middle. I called the store and was told the manager was on vacation and they apologized for the raw food. I'm not sure what the manager being on vacation had to do with me getting raw ground beef but this is serious, I have had food poisoning in the past and almost died from it and I don't take eating raw ground beef lightly. read more

I haven't been to Five Guys in years, dang they got bold with the pricing. I know things are going up everywhere but at like $9 to start for a burger, $5 for fries (which apparently aren't unlimited anymore?) and $2.50 for a soda after tax you're approaching now $20 just for the most basic combo. It isn't even that great a burger, a step above fast food but shrunk since I last had one and they don't even melt the cheap American cheese all the way or do a good job with the grilled onions like In n Out and such do. This is more a complaint about the chain than this specific location, but maybe other than just to get a milkshake I think I'm done with the chain after this, just a very poor value during these expensive times. read more

I love In-N-Out, Crown, The Habit, Smashburger, and some other local places. With Five Guys not having ranch (yep, I dip my fries in ranch, judgers), I can't say it'll make it to the top of my burger joint list. But everything was fresh, delicious, and messy. My boyfriend got the cajun fries, and I think I'd like to go back to the regular fries next time. The service was good, and the place was pretty clean from what I could tell. Pro tip you can get extra extra of any topping(that includes bacon if you order a bacon burger). I consistently love the fries. Cajun of course. There were 3 workers, our order was taken quickly as well as the person behind us. Nice guys. They got right to work, not messing around. It's difficult to review chains, because if they're doing their business right, they are all consistent. This location is a replacement for the location in the same complex in the Commons in South Towne (across State Street for The Shops at South Town, the big mall minus the end "E"). It definitely is an upgrade. The old location was the most cramped Five Guys I've ever been in, and this one has plenty of space. My only negative is the fries. I may have got them on a bad day, but they didn't have their usual goodness ... they had the consistency of a Burger King fry, which isn't a good thing, and they had cooked the flavor right out of 'em. Everything else: Quick service, awesome burger, plenty of gigantic peanuts, the awesome Freestyle mix-your-own-soda machine, awesome as usual. Five Guys is definitely one of the better quick burger joints around. I love that all of the basic toppings on Five Guys burgers are free. I usually get the Little Bacon Burger, which is still pretty darn big. I get grilled onions and lettuce on it, the grilled onions are delicious. Their fries are also amazing and a regular is plenty for two people to share. I love to get them cajun style, which is just a cajun seasoning that they toss the fries in, but man is it good. I really like that they have their bags of potatoes and cases of peanut oil just out in the dining area. They also cut their fries fresh and they write up on a board where their fries are from that day. The burgers are pretty great, the lack of a combo price is really lame. I love Five Guys. They make a great burger quick. The cajun fries are fantastic as well. What I don't care for is the price. I've never left there paying less than $12+ for a burger, drink and some fries. While it is good, I can go to much better for just a few dollars more. Luckily it is a good place to go for a pair of people because you can share the ridiculously large bag of fries and come out with a good price per person. The burger patty was thicker than most other places, and it was moist instead of the usual dry meat. Plus there are all those free toppings, including grilled onions, jalapenos, and grilled mushrooms! Even the milkshakes have a list of free mix-ins. But what was unprofessional was the fact that the manager (or who seemed like the manger/lead) was in an argument with one of his employees. This has become a burger hot spot for several reasons. That being said, it is probably not in my top 3 for favorite burger joints around. THAT being said, here are some things they are doing well: 1. The fries. They are hot and crispy and you get a TON of them. 2. Unlimited toppings: Who wouldn't love to get grilled onions and mushrooms for free! True, the base price of the burger probably makes up for it, but I really appreciate all the topping options. 3. Friendly service: They greet you when you walk in the door and the tellers are up beat helpful. 4. They will lettuce wrap your burger Where I think they could improve: 1. They seem to be pretty big on advertising fresh ingredients... Which is why I am baffled that they are using processed cheese. True, it melts like a dream... But it can't beat the real thing. 2. The burger itself is lacking in flavor a little. The last time I went there I found myself looking for the salt packets. They continued to tell us that we were scamming them, even with all the proof and even threatened to throw my husband out of the restaurant and call the cops on him. then, a couple minutes later, they received the order, and gave us our food. No compensation for their terrible service and terrible way they treated us. This is a terrible place. DO NOT ORDER HERE. Best location I have found! I love Five Guys! Their Cajun Fries are the best hands down! Every time we come to this location the staff is super friendly and patient. ( It can get super busy) Their location is always clean which is nice. We never have to wait long to order or get our food even when the line is almost out the door. The place is very cramped and alot of times you have to wait for a table, but the burger and fries are worth the time and space. Fresh and juicy. I'm not sure why my memories of Five Guys Burgers and Fries reflect something so different from my recent experience. First off, too much salt. Salt was to my French Fries as breading is to Fried Chicken. I try not to be a salty person but you are what you eat, so as you can imagine as I left Five Guys I was a little disgruntled. I wasn't sure if it was just on off day or maybe just this location that abounded in salt. In asking friends and family apparently that's just how it is at Five Guys. Putting my salty feelings aside the burger was pretty good. Its got that diner/drive in movie concessions kind of feel, which is never a bad thing. I felt like the extra money for bacon was well worth it thanks to the glorious mound of bacon nestled between the buns. They do have some other pros like free peanuts and quick service but it doesn't seem to over come my salt issue. So if you can stomach as much salt as the great Salt Lake on a single fry then pop on in. As for me I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Five Guys is one of my top 3 burger spots. The food is consistently good and fresh. There's typically a decent line at lunch, but it moves quickly. The menu is simple... burgers, hot dogs, and fries. You can choose the size of your burger and what you want on it. They make it when you order it. If your kid has peanut allergies keep them away, they have peanuts all over the place, and use peanut oil in their fries. The parking can be a little hectic at times. I recommend parking to the East of the building so you don't have to contend with all the foot and car traffic by the entrance. The dining area is too small. They should have expanded into the next building when they had a chance. I've had to hunt for a chair during peak lunch hours. People try to compare Five Guys to In&Out, but they're not even in the same league. Five Guys is way better. read more
