If you pass on this spot you are Crazy. Food was Amazing. The Service was amazing. Location is nice. Plenty of parking . Fired chicken is something that needs to be tried. The greens there are no words that do them justice. If you are reading this stop. Get in your car amd go get some, period!

I've been here many times and have enjoyed every dinner I've eaten here! The staff are warm and friendly, Chef Julius frequently comes by to say hello to guests, and it's a great place to have a massive meal and relax. I love that you start off with the pork rinds and sauce at the beginning, and I always order the house red drink (free refills!). I've had the chicken fried chicken, catfish, and shrimp and grits as mains; and different combinations of the collard greens, candied yams, and golden splendor as sides. Whatever you order, the flavors and textures shine, and the portions are HUMONGOUS. The food is a great value and so, so delicious. You'll leave feeling full, with a second meal, and with the desire to come back again tomorrow.

This was a black owned restaurant we found near Salt Lake City. The food was good. I really enjoyed the corn and cornbread. I do wish the cornbread was warmer. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's a pretty cool soul food restaurant to check out if you're in the area. The inside of the restaurant is cool with the artwork.

I really enjoyed this place. Not too expensive ($55 for two, including dessert). The shrimp sandwich was great (a bit skimpy on the sauce so I asked for a side of it; very tasty) and the grits were great. I loved the cornbread. It was so sweet. Mac and cheese was awesome. We were intrigued by the sweet potato cheesecake so we got it and I have to say, it worked. It almost tasted like candy corn candy. I really liked it a lot. Service was good too. I'd for sure go back again.

I mean, I thought I reviewed this place immediately after I went, because in my head there are rave reviews. At the risk of being stoned to death, I will preface this by saying I am not a "comfort food" enthusiast. My husband served an LDS mission in the south, so he loves it. I came here to try something new but mostly to do something he was excited about. I'm so glad I did. We showed up on a Friday night at a pretty busy time, just after 6. There were people waiting, but we only probably waited 15 or 20 minutes before being seated toward the back of the restaurant by the restrooms. The place is comfortable and welcoming--brightly lit and clean. Our server was absolutely stellar, and I wish I could remember her name. But it was clear she enjoyed her job and loved the food as she raved about every item we chose. My husband got the red drink, which was good, but not really my thing. Our food came out quickly. I got chicken fried chicken with mac and cheese and sweet potatoes. I enjoyed all of it quite a bit. My husband got fried chicken with greens and black eyed peas. He loved all his food. He was a little disappointed that the chicken was boneless; I'm not sure why this is a priority for him as I am not versed in soul food. Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say. It was all around a great experience. If you haven't been here--do it soon.

We've lived right by this place for years and can't believe we've never tried it. Had super high expectations going in based on the reviews, and it exceeded all of those expectations. Food was incredible! Everything was seasoned perfectly. Highly highly recommend. Chef Julius is an artist. Will be back soon!

Turned out to be one of the best meals I've had in some time. Seven of us went to sauce, boss they accommodated us quickly and had great service! Each of us ate something different on the menu. Everything is prepared fresh. The fried green tomatoes were delicious, hot and perfectly cooked. The fried chicken was moist and savory, the catfish fresh and tender, not frozen. And the pork chop too delicious. I honestly wish the sides came out family style because they are so good. I would've liked to have tried them all. I definitely plan on going back!!!! I have to go back! I didn't have room to eat dessert this go around. The dining room was nice and clean, with a quaint style.

Went to an amazing dinner here with a large party (20+) and we had the chicharons, bacon fries, and blackened chicken wings to share. We loved all of these! The fries were a hit. I loved the wings! I shared the blackened pork chops and fried chicken. Each entree comes with two sides and cornbread, and I chose the spiced corn and mashed potatoes. Loved everything about my entree! I'd definitely come back if in the area. Service was great too and although it was a casual spot, the servers were very friendly and able to accommodate our large party being split up across multiple tables near each other. Tip: ask for a side of the soul sauce; it's amazing!

Business trip win. I appreciate the locals sharing their favorite eateries when I visit a region for the first time. I was looking for great Southern home cooking, and this restaurant hit the mark. The food was flavorful and plentiful. I appreciate the excellent service and inviting space. The owner came out and introduced himself. BONUS.....

Draper, Utah Southern food? Fried catfish? All in the middle of Utah? I had to try it. This is a sit down and order restaurant. Very casual inside, white walls with metal chairs and concrete floor. Very simple. Very small space. About 14 tables. I have food, allergies, and the waitress answered all of my questions. But then she sent the chef/owner, Julius, over to talk with me. Pleasant man from Chicago. But his recipes are all from his family who lived in the South. I ordered the fried catfish which is accompanied with two sides. I chose the candied yams and the mac & cheese. My husband ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes, potatoes, and gravy and the macaroni and cheese. Both plates are served with a slice of cornbread with a large honey butter smothered on top. The food came out very hot. The breading on the catfish is very thick and a lot of spices. I was pleasantly surprised when I cut my catfish and discovered it was deboned and tender. The mac & cheese was creamy and the candied yams were super sweet. Just the way I prefer them. They did seem a bit runny, but the flavor was good. The fried chicken was unbelievably moist. The breading was thick and crunchy. The mashed potatoes were of course, homemade with spices, and the brown gravy is chicken based. The cornbread was delicious. Comes with a slab of honey butter. I only wish it was served warm. It would've made the experience perfect. The food portions are large. The food has wonderful flavor with the perfect spice and southern heat. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would give it 4.8 stars. The only two things that brought it down from a perfect score were the cornbread being cold, and the restaurant was not a cozy feel. Please come check this restaurant out and meet Julius.

Sauce Boss brings so much flavor and is just hands down delicious. Haven't had anything not good, but especially love the fried chicken and the fried green tomatoes. The Mac and cheese (golden splendor) is one of the better ones I've had. So glad we have them here!!

I didn't expect to find good soul food in Draper but here we are! Let's keep this restaurant around! I got the Mac and cheese and grits and both were very good, particularly the Mac. The cornbread was soft, spongey, and sweet. I only gave it four stars because while I enjoyed my blackened pork chops, they didn't blow me away. That said, my friend was raving about his fried chicken. Finally, the helpings were large - we were both stuffed and had leftovers. The service was amazing, the owner and chef stopped by and chatted with us for a bit, super nice guy. You can tell he puts a lot of passion, love, and skill into his food. I will definitely be coming back!

I saw sauce boss on tv and came to Utah for my son's soccer tournament so I had to come try it. Service was great. Portions were generous. Great atmosphere. Food was amazing. Chef Julius came out to greet and check on us himself. He was very genuine and kind. Would definitely recommend making a trip here.

I was expecting somewhere that was similar to any other chicken joint in utah(as they have been flooding every corner...you can't escape chicken here....). BUT, the vibe here was okay, I definitely wouldn't go as far to say it was in a nice area but it felt like I went to an old taco time that half committed to a renovation. That's to say that it was perfectly fine to sit in and I didn't have any problem with it, besides that it was an old building. As for the chicken, they have plenty of options for you to choose from, for a chicken restaurant, you could have it in tenders, sandwiches, wraps, salads, or wings. The loaded fries were highly recommended by my friends but I will say I did not feel like destroying my stomach that day. In of its self, I would say that the wrap was pretty tasty, the chicken was well made and the sauce was as good as I could've hoped. The fries were also on point and wrapped up a good meal, would I say that this is the best food in the area? No, but you wont be disappointed in making a stop here if you feel like getting away from the ever growing empire of chick-fil-a.

The ribs were smothered in their raspberry bbq sauce which is just not good. Shame because the ribs were tender and cooked well. 2. The brisket. Who taught this person carving tonight how to cut brisket??!?! As someone who lived in central Texas for almost 6 years, the way this meat was cut was offensive. We got a a pound of brisket and they were cut into GIANT chunks almost an inch thick. Brisket is supposed to be SLICED and it's not supposed to be covered in sauce either. Thankfully the classic sauce is actually good but it ruins the bark!! The bark lost its peppery bite being covered in sauce. The point of brisket is it doesn't need sauce if it's done right. The chunks were so thick it made it chewy. Maybe if sliced thinner it would've been better. 3. The potato salad tasted like it was made with dole whip cream it was terribly sweet. I didn't try the gyro burger because it was very raw on the inside. It was lamb and wagyu but I prefer my burger meats to be cooked all the way through. My friends said it was sweet and it's probably because they glazed the bun. The fat bastard oysters were too big for my liking. There's also gelato on top which was weird because it made the oyster taste like it was partially frozen. I don't recommend this. The rolls tasted like biscuits. It was crumbly and it wasn't expected for a nice restaurant. The heirloom tomato pastry was my favorite dish of the night. The half sashimi trout was more like a stew in sweet sauce. The baby yellow potatoes were just added without any seasonings. Assuming it should soak in the sweet juices? I didn't care for it. Trout was good, but preferred that the skin was crispy, which was extremely soggy, drowned in the sauce. Server asked if I wanted bread to drink the sauce and sure. Why not. It may taste better with regular bread and it wasn't. You can also skip valet parking if you just walk an extra minute down the parking lot. I forgot what one of the desserts name but it was the one with butter cake. This was extremely sweet too with the gooey caramel sauce. The donut was ridiculously expensive at $16 with a little honeycomb decoration. Nothing special with the desserts. Overall, everything is sweet here. Their menu is a lot and I feel like the burger menu can be a little too much and trying too hard to be fancy.

Whatever they are doing, it works! We ordered a single stack, two Heavenly Hot Cakes, and paired it with a side of strawberries and Nutella, scrambled eggs, and home fried potatoes. The bacon came out crispy to perfection, exactly as requested, no more no less. The strawberries and Nutella alongside the pancakes was an indulgent combination that I have zero regrets about. Portions are generous and the prices are more than fair for what you get. Staff was friendly and the place fills up fast on weekends, so join the waitlist before you leave home. Do not show up and hope for the best. Five stars. A Utah breakfast institution that continues to earn it.

The omelette was mid same with the coffee. But the service was good. The environment was clean overall we would go there again.

I want to come work here! The food was really good, and really expensive! Our bill was $145 for the two of us. Our server Jaxson was really knowledgeable on the menu, and really friendly. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house as all the burlesque dancers move around the space. Be prepared with some ones to tip them, but they also take Venmo. I'd love to come back!

"Don't worry honey, it's okay to look, and also throw money at the half-naked women! I promise you won't get in trouble!" Uh-huh. ;) Alright, I digress. Awkwardness aside, Prohibition is a really great place to enjoy a classy dinner, where the meat is served on a place AND on stage, and the cheesecake comes with the price of admission! Speaking of admission, as my wife and I were guests, being shepherded along by our friend, I cannot recall exactly what the "cover charge" was (not much, if I remember correctly...less than $20 for two?), and if reservations are *required*, I cannot say for certain, but I would say they are *recommended* at the very least, because our showtime was packed. Anyway, once paid, you are escorted through a secret bookcase door (SLC residents sure do love their speakeasies, don't they?), and into the dining hall and saloon, where you're soon to have your socks knocked off...well, someone's clothes are coming off, anyway! We were given a table that I dismissively thought was tucked away pretty far in the back and out of the way, but it ended up being one of the best seats in the house, as the table where the performers gathered, prepped, and returned to was just adjacent to us, so we were about as up close and personal as you can get, without getting yourselves arrested. Each of the dancers brought their own style, flair, and wardrobe to their performances, which were spirited and energetic, and a touch racy, without devolving into outright debauchery. It may be an (18+? 21+?) venue, but alcohol restrictions aside, I wouldn't hesitate to take older, more mature teens to a show with similar content. We ordered a smattering of smaller dishes, as we weren't particularly hungry, but the Mishima Wagyu tacos were fantastic (as you would expect), as was the Fedora Fin (Za'atar-crusted ahi tuna), and all of our cocktails. As the show is timed event with multiple performances per night, both food and bev are fired out of the kitchen/bar faster than the bullets from a Tommy Gun, but with far better accuracy. The whole operation here was honestly very impressive, from start to finish. Coming from a progressive city like Portland, it's always struck me a little odd that places that, by reputation, strike you as more conservative end up having some of the best, most wild entertainment venues, that you only wish you had back home. Prohibition is one of these places that I would rather see in my downtown, instead of the litany of seedy strip joints pushing for maximum titilation, but with only a fraction of the class and sophistication. Prohibition is good, clean fun, masquerading as something illicit, which is the heart of what makes it work so well.
