It's seriously one of our favorite burger places and we live in Elko Nevada, where sadly there isn't even one. The drive thru was long...but I don't think I've ever been to an In-N-Out where it wasn't. I've never cared about the wait because the food is that good. I ordered the double double animal style with extra cheese, animal style fries, and their classic pink lemonade. My boyfriend ordered a cheeseburger animal style with regular fries. And our son ordered a cheeseburger animal style and a Neapolitan ice cream shake. I of course, ordered more spread packets and a side of peppers. I love that they ask you if you are eating in the car or not! Because when you are like we were, they give it to you open in a little box! Perfect for setting on the dash. Fab experience!! My first time to an In-n-Out and I was welcomed so kindly by the staff! Harper took care of me and explained the menu, assured me my meal would come without sauce, as I have a mayonnaise phobia!! The restaurant was decorated in 50's style, well-tended with 2-3 staffers cleaning at all times, and Harper came out to check on me, twice!! Okay people, it's a burger joint. Tried it first time today, but gotta say I don't get why it's sooooo popular! Nothing stands out, it's just an average burger with average fries, yeah it all tastes fresh, so thanks for that. The lettuce on my burger was in a big glob though, would have appreciated it being broken down into thinner pieces so it was easier to bite into. This place is always packed which is why I haven't tried it until now, I usually don't have time or the patience to wait in line to try it. Given this is their standard, they are holding that up pretty well. I totally get that the recipes are part of a national chain, but there are better methods to making Fries. The Shakes are the best in the fast food sector, for just having three flavors. The Service: This place knows how to train and motivate younger workers. The mostly young workers in In-n-Out are very friendly and helpful. Even if they're pretending, they seem to know the value of a customer and treat you well. I would rather throw a hundred dollars down a urinal and eat a urinal cake. Fries were Styrofoam and cold at the counter. They were so focused on their destroyed drive-though that my food was left on the counter until the burgers were cold. Their bag and drink carrier quality has gone down in an effort to cut costs.
