You are now reading a review by the nationally renowned 5G Guru! Yup, that's me! Why me? In 1986 I was chowing down almost weekly at the very first 5G in Northern VA! I knew the father and his four sons by their first names, and they knew mine. Moving on, I have eaten at 5Gs in way over twenty states for a total of dozens and dozens if not hundreds of meals. This review is all about the often-ignored hotdog. So, what do you need to know about this bad boy? 1. It's all beef and made by Hebrew National. The dog is Kosher, but the meal is not because it is grilled on the same grill as bacon and other stuff. Bottom line, they start with a great dog. 2. The dog is split lengthwise before it is grilled. Because of this it needs a slighter bigger bun. More about this later. 3. All the burger toppings are available for the dog. Pro Tip #1- If you are insane, you can order cheese on your dog here. If you do, they will use a Kraft Single! Crazy right! I would rather have a root canal with no pain meds than do that! Pricing- 5Gs is infamous for being spendy! I call it the "Gasp!" factor. I ordered a dog, small Cajun Fries and a small drink and it set me back $14.49. This is much better than a burger meal so the gasping is much less. Presentation- You know the deal. The dog is wrapped in foil and at the bottom of a brown paper bag. On top are about a bazillion delicious fries. Pro Tip #2- Many folks think the fries should be crisper. Just ask and they will be happy to accommodate you and make them extra crispy! Unwrap the foil and you'll immediately see what I mean about the slighter bigger bun. I don't normally cut my dog in half but I did for this review so you can see a cross-section of the split dog. Taste- This is one seriously good dog! You get a nice snap when you bite into it. You can really taste the beef and it is very nicely grilled and caramelized. Among the big chains, most reviews place this dog in the top 3 and sometimes #1 in the country! I would agree. Came to five guys to get a burger and french fries. Specifically a large french fry and a burger usually they give you a scoop in the cup of fries and then they put another scoop in the bag. They don't do that anymore. What they do is they fill up the cup and then they pour some of the fries in the bag With the cup. I came back in to talk to a manager about it. He told me that all the five guys in the neighborhood are giving too many french fries. And this one underneath his nose so he had to correct it. I used to live in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, and now in Sebring, and they always gave me an extra scoop of fries, even for a little baby french fry. They no longer do that. Saturday, November 21 and October 1. Staff is amazing. Someone was cleaning, folks were cooking, we were greeted, food is delicious and fresh. We were greeted at a fast food chain. That was unexpected in itself. The burger was delicious. The vegetable condiments are fresh. The fries!! The fries!! Amazing and fresh. Very good yes too!! Haven't been to one of these locations in forever! The food is freshly cooked to order. They give you lots of freshly cut potatoe fries. Build your own burger with free toppings. My only issue was that they could have seasoned the patty or just put some salt and pepper. read more

This is your typical Five Guys. I personally like the burgers and fries and the service at this location was great. One of the guys working there was very nice, even hooked me up with a free soda for the road since he knew I had come from some distance. Order came out perfect, no issues with missing ingredients or anything like that. Will definitely come back next time we have an even at the track. read more

Not going to lie, I was pretty disappointed by my first visit to Five Guys. Sam and I were on a little road trip and we needed to stop for dinner. Sam loves Five Guys so he immediately pulled into the lot when he saw it. I had never been before, but always wanted to try. Although to be honest, I have been holding back from trying it for so long because of all of the "greasy brown bag" stories I have heard. I love me some junk food, but super greasy items don't always agree with my stomach. This Five Guys had incredibly slow service. I only agreed to stop and eat here because Sam assured me it would be fast. Well it took over 20 minutes for our 2 burgers and fries to come out. There was only one other person there besides us waiting for food, so it was beyond me why it took so long. On top of it taking forever they also messed up our order. I got a cheeseburger "all the way," meaning with all the toppings, and Sam got a bacon cheeseburger. We also ordered a little fry and a regular fry. The burgers were done correctly, it was the fries they messed up. They gave us a little portion of Cajun fries instead of plain fries. I hate Cajun seasoning on fries. Luckily Sam is cool with Cajun seasoning so he ended up eating them. No way was I going to ask for them to be re-made. We had already spent too much time there as I was hoping our stop would last 15-20 minutes tops. I believe we ended up staying for over 30 minutes. Way too long for a road trip pit stop. The food itself was decent. The burger tasted pretty good, and I really liked the toppings- especially the grilled mushrooms and onions. The plain fries were also pretty tasty. I also liked that they had peanuts for you to eat while you wait for your food. The worst part of my Five Guys experience came about 5 min after I finished my burger. My stomach started to kill. It seriously hurt from after we ate- around 7:45, until midnight. I guess it was just too greasy for my poor little stomach to handle. If I were rating Five Guys simply on taste, I would give them a 3.5, maybe even a 4. Given everything else I've listed in my review, I can't go over 2 stars. read more

This is not my 1st 5 Guys review. Maybe it's because I wasn't paying today but today's experience was better than usual. In the past I've always thought 5 Guys was a whole lot of hype, cost & not much delivery. Today we each had a burger & fries. Fries aren't very crispy & the burgers were good but as usual not much flavor. All in all a decent burger & fries but I've had many others that were far better. We used to go in at least once a week, but lately, the food has gone downhill. Hamburgers are about the same, but the French fries, are now TERRIBLE. They used to be crispy, but over the last 2-3 months, they have gotten bad. And tonight, I went in to place an order, I got 4 hamburgers, for the family, and a large fry. It used to be that a large fry would easily feed the 3 of us. But, lately, they are not putting the fries in the bag, like they used too. Tonight, I asked them to make the fries crispy, and the guy running the register, snapped at me, and said that they don't take requests for crispy fries anymore, and that they ordered a new fryer, and all it makes is crispy fries. OK, we want them then, got out into the car, not even 3 minutes after leaving the store, they were soggy, greasy, and some were just barely thawed. They were disgusting, to say the least. And 6-7 minutes later when we got home, there were barely enough for 2 people, the slimey fries, had compacted into the cup in the bag. Usually they would throw a scoop into the bag, NOPE, but, we didn't eat the nasty things anyways. But, that is the Sebring, FL store. We travel to Lakeland, and Bradenton, quite often, and we stop at Five Guys, in those cities, and the food is still really good, at those restaurants. But, we won't be ordering fries, at the Sebring restaurant. read more

I finally decided to check out our local Five Guys after months of hearing friends and customers raving about it. So my wife and I went in on a Wednesday night and ordered two burgers and a single large fry. We had to wait a while but that was acceptable with the line of customers in front of us and it all being made "from scratch". Immediately upon unwrapping our burgers, the first thing my wife noticed was now small the actual burger was. It did not fit the entire bun. Then it didn't taste any more amazing than a burger we made at home, which we cook almost five nights a week ourselves. The fries were good. The full taste of the burger was OK and it was nice having to cook them this time, but I paid $20 for two mediocre burgers and one fry. I think the food was WAY overpriced for what we got. If I'm paying $20 for that much food, it had better well be an outstanding burger. I get more taste AND value from a whopper at Burger King than I got at Five Guys. Food was good but a bit greasy. Atmosphere is not so good with the music BLARING to the point that you cannot carry on a normal conversation with the person across the table from you. Was so glad to get this place here in Sebring! Everything is great except one thing. We live here in Highlands county where home grown produce is year round available. I resent my favorite burger has a narly tomatoe on it. Today the tomatoes were not even red or pink. They looked yellow or greenish & had no flavour. So I have been to several different Five Guys locations over the years and they never dissapoint - until now! We went to this new location in Sebring about a week and a half after they opened. They had a ton of staff there and almost everyone was super friendly. I have never received my order wrong in all the FGs I've been to - until now! I dont have a problem with the fact that the burger was made wrong, they had just opened and I expect some hickups. The problem was the manager on duty; I think they said her name was Linda. When I took my untouched burger to the counter in the back to get it corrected, along with my receipt to indicate the correct order, Linda was very rude to me and the other staff. She would not let the young man with her throw away the burger, she pushed it back across the counter to me and said "You can throw it away or you can take it home." She never looked at me, just at the receipt and the staff. And she certainly never apologized. The young man was very friendly and apologetic and remade my burger perfectly. It was typical Five Guys deliciousness. I will definitely be back. I hope they survive and if they get rid of Linda or get her some customer service training they should do well. read more
