Nathan's was great. I mean what's not to love about a killer hot dog at Coney Island. The food was a gut-plug and tasty. The fries were actually my favorite thing! We sat outside and just gobbled it up. So many more items I could have tried, but we were on a sampling tour! Service was quick and easy. Love it. Coney Island must do.

Really nice, a lot of changes over the years. No more separate lines for hot dogs and fries. Prices have gone way up. 3 dogs, 3 fries, 1 small lemonade and 1 medium lemonade $51.50! They don't do meals like they did a few years back so it adds up. The new fries containers are cool looking. Eating is standing or at the outdoor tables. They keep it cleaner than years ago. Food was good, always has been. I have been going here since I was a kid. Service was quick and the cashier was super sweet.

Went here because it's famous but honestly I don't think the chili cheese dog was worth $9! Service was super fast but the hotdog itself is so small and just tastes okay

I'm uneducated but apparently this is like the nike of hot dog eating competitions? It was pretty solid, very flavorful. It hit the spot after walking around Coney Island. Just a little small for the price imo. I got the jalapeno bacon cheese dog and the jalapeno was actually spicy!! Service was pretty quick.

    1. It's a cultural icon 2 if the weather cooperates and it's a beautiful sunny day, it's a great way to Cap off a trip to Coney Island 3. The hot dogs are pricey at six dollars but onions and sauerkraut are included. 4. Honestly, the hotdog was perfect - bun was crispy, hotdog was perfectly cooked with a nice char on it and the sauerkraut just elevated everything. This is the standard for what a hotdog should taste like. I would recommend this place every time. Despite it being very busy, we were able to get in line and get our food within 10 minutes

Nathan's never disappoints the hotdog is crispy. The bread is soft. The onions were tasty. The ambience is regular fast food. Restaurants service was great. I came early in the afternoon around 12 o'clock on a Saturday and it wasn't busy and the lines were short and we got service fast

Soo disappointed in the food The hot dog (weenie) was dry, cold and definitely old! Onion rings were cold and the Nashville southern chicken sandwich was less than average! The cheese tots were so dissatisfying, they just need better taste, maybe better cheese! Seems the food definitely doesn't not live up to the name. The cashier was nice and very friendly, thank you Panida for giving us at least good customer service.

Ordered food after the July 4th hotdog contest so obviously there was a decent wait. However, once the order was placed, it took about five minutes to get the food. Everything was great, the milkshake seemed like it was made hours before and was frozen, so it took a while to melt to be able to drink. Could barely puncture it with my straw.

It's the Best! This location I mean. Even when I go to other locations for some reason, their hot dogs always taste better here. Aaand no other Location has frog legs! Sooooo we make this trek all the time mainly for the frog legs but always get hot dogs also. Also they have a sweet older gentleman that is like a maitre D & personal waiter. I'm so mad I did not get his name. He was awesome. When we walked in, he asked us if we wanted a table he walked us to the table, pulled the chairs out. He came back and checked on us. Even noticed that I got a shake & immediately came back with a spoon for me. BTW that Butterscotch Praline Shake was top notch! Get it! And his awesome service wasn't just for us. He did this for everyone. I am sure there is no way you can get this kind of service in the summertime because you can barely move in there. So I don't wanna let the secret out. But I hate when people gatekeep, So if you wanna try this location of Nathan's come in the wintertime. Parking right out front! For my family coming from Suffolk County to Brooklyn it's worth the trip! It's only 44 miles away but NY traffic it took us 1 hr 45 minutes to get back home. Ridiculous, but worth it! They still serve the deep fried frog legs a little spicier than the last time but they were still delicious. I also got their famous hot dogs and fries and they were just like I remember with that wonderful snap when you bite into the hot dogs and the fries crispy and delicious.I will definitely be going back again and again.

I enjoyed eating here. Ordering from the kiosk for smaller orders is practical. It is busy! And a new York beach crowd for sure. The kiosk has a smaller menu, so next time when I have time to wait in line, I will have to try their bigger bites, like a burger!!

Nathan's 1310 Surf Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11224 Hot Dog From a historic standpoint, this casual hot dog restaurant is a goldmine. This is the original location that originally started out as a hot stand in the early 20th century. The annual Fourth of July hot dog eating contest is held here. And it is conveniently only footsteps away from the Coney Island Boardwalk. Hot Dog: On a positive note, there was no extra charge for the sautéed onions in the frankfurter. Sadly, the hot dog did not live up to the hype. The dog was served room temperature and the bun looks like it has seen better days. Its taste was average at most and I felt the effort attempt wasn't there. Overall, if you are in the area and need a quick bite, I'd suggest pulling up. Otherwise, you will be highly disappointed if you make a special trip expecting the hot dog of the century. #nathans #nathansfamous #nathanshotdog #brooklynny #originalnathans

I have LOVED Nathan's Famous food ever since I was a young girl growing up in Coney Island and nothing has diminished my love for it. Hot dogs, French fries with cheese and delicious lemonade is my favorite order. The staff are amazing and their customer service skills are superb. I will always support Nathan Famous as long as their doors stay open.

How much for the clams on a half shell?

They range from just clams to combos. $14-20

What kind of clams and oyster they are serving?

Fried & on the half shell clams. I don't recall any oysters.

Do they still sell fresh oysters on the half shell.?

I was there last year and I didn't see any, but then again, I wasn't looking for them!

Do they sell foot long hotdogs?

I don't think it was foot long but it was bun length

Do they still have their plant based dogs? They don't appear on the online menu.

    No

Does this location offer any indoor seating? I'm going for New Year's with my kids and we don't want to eat outside in the cold.

Maybe this changed over the past few years, but yes, they had indoor seating when I was there earlier this year.

Any of my local Yelpers know the inside scoop for the old Surf Theater across from Nathan's .... new scaffolding up this year?

Scaffolding still there June 17th, no other insight..

Both restaurants have been in business for well over half a century with well-deserved accolades. Despite having grown up in Brooklyn, I hadn't been to either before this year. I read reviews and actually asked ChatGPT what to order at R-N-R. We went with its suggestion: medium roast beef with cheese, onion rings, root beer and lemonade. My sandwich was more well-done than requested. They don't offer 'rare'. The few bites with red meat were infinitely better than the rest of the sandwich. The roll, as everyone points out, is baked in house. Though light and puffy, it didn't outweigh overdone beef. Onion rings were great, root beer average, and lemonade -- per my husband who loves lemonade -- excellent. While I wouldn't balk about returning, my vote goes to Brennan and Carr, though truly, when cooked as requested there is no substantial difference. If you take the train, get off at Sheepshead Bay Road and head south. Turn left at Emmons Avenue and keep walking. Twenty minutes all told.

The bun is soft and sweet and the burger has a good amount of sautéed mushrooms. Truffle Parmesan fries were pretty standard, but still very good. Yuzu honey lemonade has bits of citrus at the bottom of the drink and it was refreshing. I saved the chicken bites hours later and it was still pretty crispy after being microwave. Texture was reminiscent of Taiwanese popcorn chicken, nicely seasoned. Overall had a pleasant experience, I definitely want to return and try the rest of their menu.

I already knew I wanted the double cheeseburger with bacon and egg, so it didn't take me long to place my order. I definitely enjoyed sitting at the bar because the restaurant has an open-kitchen concept. You can watch the chefs prepare the food, which is always enjoyable for me. The burger itself was definitely an experience! It was beautifully presented, and everything was cooked to perfection. Honorable mention goes to the pepper on the thick-cut bacon- it added a nice savory kick to the burger. I had really been looking forward to trying it because I recently passed by Au Cheval in Chicago, but the wait was extremely long, so I didn't get the chance to go. This burger was definitely good. It's not at the top of my list, but it was worth the experience. I must say, it's also extremely high-end price-wise. For just the burger with bacon and egg, plus tax and tip, I paid about $47. Again, it was a treat, but not necessarily one I'd order again. I'd love to try some of the city's other standout burgers before returning for this one. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Would I return? Sure, but I would probably try something other than the burger next time.
