A strong cocktail lineup!

FEE-NOM-MENAL BURGER. Simply phenomenal! More like phenomnomnom-menal... Hank's Garage is serving up one of the better burgers in JoCo with very relaxed atmosphere to boot. The menu is not large, but clearly what they do, they are doing very, very well. Burgers, dogs, wraps, & salads are there for the choosing along with a great lineup of local beer. They even have their own label (Hank's Lager) if you are up to sample house goodies! But speaking of house goodies, it's the burgers. The 'variations' are slim (like 2 or 3), but the El Reno (shoutout to Oklahoma) comes with those fabulous grilled onions as a supporting cast. The OG Hank's burger is not to be missed, what with the sharp American cheese & special sauce on a brioche bun. Both of those are simply hunger killers, because they taste as good as they look and they're fairly huge in portion size. The house special sauce has a little horseradish wayyyyyy in the flavor background, only noticeable if you're looking for it, and the sauce is outstanding when paired with the burg. Pro tip: get the sauce on the side and get your dunk on. Burgers come with a side and run $15, which is a price point well below the value. Ice cold beer flows on tap (buy local!) or in cans & bottles, and they even do a few wines & house-created cocktails. The airy, open layout makes it a three-season spot and the 'yard' is inviting for anyone who enjoys their eats & dranks au naturel. Wonderful service (Autumn is THE nicest) and plenty of seating - get yourself there.

Hanks original smash burger with fries and sauces on the side.

First time here after hearing good things. Had the Hanks original smash burger and fries. Smash burger was juicy and huge. I could only eat half. Loved the mayonnaise horseradish sauce on it. If you don't like horseradish you might want to get it on the side. Fries were really good and unusual. Thick cut but thin with skins and seasoning on them. We will be back. Cute diner atmosphere.

This place is a solid burger and hangout place in downtown Shawnee! Probably the best food joint other than sushi mido... Great patio to soak up the sun and watch a game. A must go to place if you like smash burgers!

This place is a cool sports bar with a fun vibe and solid food. I'm glad I finally made it out here. We went a little before noon on a Saturday in winter. It filled up pretty quick after we arrived. The service was solid. We got a quick rundown since it was our first visit. I settled on a beer and a burger with tots. The beer can was vented at the top for airflow and drinkability. I hadn't ever seen that at a bar before. I went with the El Reno burger. It was solid. This place is good for kids. They have high top high chairs. I haven't ever seen that before either. One thing I saw after I left, something to note if Hanks is too busy, Hanks food can be ordered and enjoyed at Friction Beer Co around the corner in some capacity. That'd be worth looking into if it's too busy to get a seat.

At first glance, Hank's appears to have everything required for me to truly love a place...so why did I not love it? It's got an old-school feel of a neighborhood dive of the past with great music, fantastic decor, and an amazing staff. I mean, I should totally love it here! But I only came close for one reason...the food. Now I want to be very clear, the food wasn't bad. It just didn't live up to the expectations created by everything else going on with this establishment. I got the Hank's Original because I'm a sucker for a good smash burger, but the patties here are paper-thin even by smash burger standards, and the sauce they use overpowers any flavor that you could get from the burger patties. The burger was fine. It just wasn't anything that made me yearn to rush back and have it again, you know? I also took a walk on the wild side to try the strangest thing on the menu, their spam fries. And I was mildly taken aback at how well they were done. But I really didn't care for the 'banana ketchup' that came with them. They were better plain. But I'd suggest to share these with others as I soon got tired of them; although I will admit that big fans of spam may not have that problem. Awesome location, cool building, service was decent. The chicken wrap was pretty good, broccolini had a spicy touch to it was tasty. The smash burgers were both great, French Fries were good, loaded tots were not for "me" there is a lot going on and just not worth the additional $4. It's about $18-20$ per entry which seemed a little step for a burger, but I still would recommend it for sure, patio is awesome when the weather is nice.

This not so hidden gem is serving up classics but with their own twist on it! Everything on the menu we tried was so delicious! The tempura fried sandwich has the perfect crunch! It was a busy day but the staff were on top of everything you wouldn't have known they were as busy as they were: super professional! And the vibe? Think your cool grandpas garage

Joined some friends for dinner and a few drinks. The waiter was helpful. They have a very large drink menu to choose from. I went with the double hank's burger with tots. They burger was good and had a good amount of toppings. I was told the hot dogs are good as well. Next time I will give one of the options a chance. For those that want to catch the game there are a lot of tv's to watch on. With its location there are also a lot of options to go bar hopping and never leave the block.

It was about time the Shawnee area got a cool spot like this!! The patio area was exactly what the weather ordered. It is fenced in, so there are plenty of kids running around and parents enjoying beverages. I got the Aperol Spritz, and the ratio was spot on. For food, my husband and I got the Hanks and the El Reno burgers to split. The El Reno was the show stopper for sure. I'm a sucker for a good smash burger, and Hanks has clearly cracked the code. The crispy edges (aka the holy grail "meat lace") were doing all of the talking. Overall, great patio, great drinks, and phenomenal burgers. Shawnee has officially leveled up!!

Came for lunch on a Sunday early afternoon. Parking is limited right next to the restaurant, but they have a sign out front directing to nearby lots that are available. We had a party of 6 and wee seated within 10 minutes. The menu is small, but somehow still has a great variety. Everyone at our table ordered something completely different. For myself I got the shrimp po boy with tots. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and seasoned well - blackened. The lettuce wa crisp and the tomatoes were ripe. The remoulade sauce was a great accompaniment, adding a touch of creaminess and balance to the blackening spice. The tots were crispy and perfectly salted, they even got approval from my 1-year old. I would definitely order this again.

This is my third time at Hank's in three months. Every time I arrive the staff has a great attitude upbeat happy go lucky and loves their job. Staff is great at recommending suggestions. Food is fantastic as I haven't had anything bad. Thus far, I've had the pork tenderloin sandwich, El Reno, tempura, fried vegetables, and Hank burger. Love the indoor outdoor space which flows nicely into an area that has outside TVs in additional outside bar. Lovely space - I will definitely go back!

I stopped back and my second visit was as good as the first! I sat at the bar and the service was quick. I had my Hanks Original burger within a couple of minute. The burger was smashed beautifully! It was juicy and flavorful! The whole meal was just the right size to fill me up but not sit too heavy! Good vibe, good service, good food!

Every once in a while you stumble upon a restaurant that actually lives up to the insane hype built around it and my friends, Hanks is just that. A few months ago I had a lunch date with my husband and after going back and forth on local spots we both had been wanting to try we landed on Hank's. The worst thing about Hank's is the parking, which is what you'll encounter first. It's not their fault though, it's a popular part of downtown Shawnee and you should honestly expect to hunt a bit for a spot during peak hours. Once we found our spot we made our way in and found a short wait for a table. They could have seated us outside but it was just too hot for our taste so we didn't mind waiting. It's worth noting though, that Hank's boasts a large and well designed patio that I'm sure would make for excellent outdoor dining once the heat lifts. Once seated we had only what I can describe as a really great lunch. Everything from the server, to the local beers on tap, to the elevated pub fare, was honestly great. There is usually something I don't love but Hank's hit all the marks for me, and what really impressed us as parents was that the menu was really kid friendly too, which made us add this to our list of places we could bring the girls on a weekend and find a little something for everyone.

He greeted us with a smile, took our orders, and then checked back with us several times during the course of our meal to ensure we were enjoying our food and had everything we needed. Everything moved like clockwork, from our seating to ordering to receiving our food to paying the bill. The food was OUTSTANDING!! I had the grilled chicken avocado club, and it was absolutely superb!! It was a complete chicken breast, and full avocado slices, grilled bacon, tomato, lettuce, and a very tasty sauce. All the flavors melded together perfectly, and I almost wished I'd ordered a second sandwich! My husband had the truffle cheesesteak melt, and he said it was amazing. The cheese was so tasty--like provel, or boursin--and the beef was tender and juicy. Both of us had fries on the side--his was regular fries and mine were sweet potato fries--and both were cooked to perfection (crispy, not greasy). The menu for 30hop is extensive, with plenty of options. They also have ample selections of beer and wine, and a full bar available. The restaurant itself is very open and airy; the tables are far enough apart that you don't feel crowded, and the music is soft enough that you can have a conversation at a normal volume. There are plenty of screens to keep up with your favorite sports, too. It was a wonderful first visit, and we will DEFINITELY return for many more meals! Thanks to Josh and everyone at 30hop for such a great dining experience!

You choose your grains (I opt for lentils), greens (I like super greens) and build your bowl from there. Don't forget your free side pita! I usually get Lamb, Steak or Falafel as my protein, mix the dips and pile on the toppings. My dressing is usually yogurt dill on the side. I like this location because the staff is friendly and when they've been out of ingredients, they're quick to make the situation right. It's not super cheap, but it's good quality that will fill you up! There's plenty of seating inside (I've only been once where every seat was filled) and also a patio outside for sunny days. Everything flows. It's organized chaos done right. The seasonal drinks are consistently creative and actually good. Not just pretty for Instagram. Balanced, thoughtful, and well executed. And the bakery? Dangerous. The display case is pure temptation. Cinnamon rolls, pecan twists, danishes, cookies, scones. Everything looks like the right choice, which makes choosing impossible. They also have solid brunch plates and sandwiches if you're trying to pretend you're here for something other than sugar and caffeine. Now for the one miss. I ordered the pepper jack breakfast burrito, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to the rest of the experience. Flat flavors, mushy texture, no real identity. The hot sauce was doing most of the work. It felt out of place in a spot that clearly cares about quality. Thankfully, the bakery and coffee saved the day. The pecan twist was flaky, buttery, and just sweet enough. The seasonal latte with cold foam was smooth, balanced, and dialed in. Overall, McLain's is a Kansas City staple for a reason. Efficient, welcoming, and consistently good at what they do. One menu tweak away from being near-perfect. Solid 4-star spot. Would happily come back.

Here's the list: Sunrise, Jolly green, Power BLT, Baked Oatmeal, Croissant French Toast, Salsa Verde Pork &Eggs, Homemade Blueberry Tart and Carrot Cake Pancakes. Something tells me you just can't wait to hear.. the Fresh squeezed Sunrise & Jolly Green juice were so fresh and refreshing my goodness they were like little liquid vitamins drinks. The green went down so smooth with a hint of sweetness. The sunrise was just right for first thing in the morning carrot juice mixture I don't think we get enough of carrot juice but I felt so alive after drinking enough too go in on that Savory Satisfying Salsa Verde and it with the over easy egg on top to bring it home. When delivered it was still hot, the pork was so moist and seasoned darn well the salsa brought the entire thing together with that warm egg yolk I almost hurt myself it is a must try. Then comes the Large Power BLT with added grilled chicken. Listen to me you have to add the grilled chicken it takes it to a whole'nother level with the hickory smoky bacon cooked perfectly the kale and the brussel sprouts bean sprouts grape tomatoes it's just loaded goodness and the dressing being oil based seasons the green because they are raw so keep that in mind. You can literally feed 2-3 people with this salad. It's gonna be a summer staple for me no doubt!!!! Now comes the Baked Oatmeal - I've never had baked oatmeal but I believe they may have changed my mind with the berries I can't explain the warm goodness I think it was cinnamon but the oatmeal is so incredibly inviting so moist and chewy almost like an oatmeal cookie added berries for sweetness I added cream too it and let all my cares extinguish themselves. The Croissant French Toast- is RICH absolutely Rich, buttery toasted 3 pieces of goodness with a great helping of syrup. I say have some eggs and bacon some kind of fat or acidic beverage to cut through the richness, it put me to sleep when I finished it. We have the Homemade Blueberry Tart- ok let's talk.. flaky, buttery, when you break off a piece you layers of dough like someone loves their job. The filling on the inside compared to dough was perfect and very blueberry light sweetness, it's a cross between pop tart and toaster strudel but better. The icing kinda rubbed off in the bag but it was just enough and sprinkles to enjoy. I really liked that!! Yep, I saved the best for last those super moist Carrot Cake Pancakes, where have they been all my life huh where have they been? Just a simple sweet carrot cake with syrup you might as well say, like sponges just absorb the syrup to put you in a food coma and gone add a pad of butter as if, well as if it needed to be rich too flavor explosion just all over the place. I've never had that flavor pancake before but I will again. I wish I knew about this place before now, but it is one great find for any day or any occasion. Every item purchased was made, prepared and packaged with care. HomeGrown clearly loves their job because great things are coming out of that kitchen. I was very impressed my favorites are the Power BLT added grilled chicken and those Carrot Cake Pancakes. I've found another way to get my veggies . If you have not tried this place you got to and apparently they have some several locations. Picture time! I also posted my order and price shall you wanna take a walk on the tasty side of life. Enjoy! It's definitely a Yelp 5*****star. The serving sizes were nice. The price for what I got was perfect for me. The flavors paired well in each item. The excellent care in packing made me really happy. HomeGrown is well worth the investment.
