These "guys" rolled into the 'Couv' a few years ago to much fanfare. I have been to both this location and the one off 192nd Avenue. Both were tasty and fresh. This is a giant burger my friends, they serve a "small" burger that is as big as fast foods "premium" offerings. The heart attack inducing beef can get even bigger from there. They make them to order with your choice of many different condiments. This is not fast food, you may wait a bit and you will pay a bit more than BK or Mc Ds. The quality is there however and I love the fresh fries. they take raw fresh potatoes and crush them through a shredder then fry them up fresh.... mmm tasty. read more

I walked in and they smiled and said hey how are you today? It was nice to be asked and said havent seen you in a while. I say for the price what you order you really get all its worth. Tons of fries, and the burgers are pretty good if you still have room that is. I prefer my fries fresh and I seem to always get that. Although I did think the price of shakes I would of expected more shake I truly do and have enjoyed them, they are always willing to make the burgers the way you want them fresh. This is a higher class fast food burger- a little more expensive than a Burger King or MacDonald's, but completely worth it! You get to order as many toppings as you like. If you don't want two patties, be sure to order the little burger. The French fries are so good! My husband and I always share the fries- way too much for one person. If you are getting your order to go, may I recommend cooking your fries in the oven with some grated cheddar cheese on top? So good! I also tried the milkshake- I got chocolate and my husband got Oreo. Excellent quality shakes. The establishment was clean, the workers were friendly, and the cooks in the back were even singing to the music playing in the background. My family and I have been here many times before. Our special request is always that they get the fries extremely crispy, even if it means delaying our meal. They've come close a few times, but we keep coming back because the fries really are that good. Today, one of their cooks - Max - absolutely nailed it on the fries. They were perfect. Literally the best fries my family and I have ever eaten. Between that and the delicious burgers, my family and I left with huge smiles on our faces. I received a visit from my mother who just INSISTED we went to 5 Guys for lunch. I had never eaten there before even though I live within walking distance from this location. There was the good and the bad, but my overall experience was great. Let's start with the Bad: - The tables, while many of them, were pretty close together, which is good if you have larger groups. But when the place is crowded it can get overwhelming, bumping elbows and unable to scoot back in your chair because someone else is directly behind you. So word of advice, take a seat along the edges of the eating area instead of picking a table in the middle. - The food can be VERY greasy. So grab lots of napkins and then grab a few more. I ordered a grilled cheese for my 2 yr old daughter and had to order a few sides of tomatoes and pickles once I saw the grease oozing from the cheese. - The portions are huge, which is good and bad. A large fry can be shared between 2-3 people depending on your appetite. And a burger is more than enough to fill you up (and keep you full for the rest of the day!) - Loud !! It's a very casual restaurant, which is great. But between the sounds of the workers cooking, people talking, and the background music it can get pretty loud. Now for the Good: - Yummy! Despite the grease and messy eating, the food tasted pretty good. It reminded me of a 4th of July BBQ. It's nice knowing that the patties are hand crafted right before they're put on the grill (unlike other fast food where the patties are not). - Easy menu. I don't know about other people, but I LOVE easy menu's like the 5 Guys. Where you have the main plates then a list of toppings, then fries and a drink. I've worked at fast food restaurants as a teenager and their menu's can get very extensive, with many different options and combinations.. so eating at 5 Guys is a breath of fresh air. I've heard quite a bit about this place lately, so thought I would check it out since I was also craving a big burger. Right off, I was turned off by the extremely noisy, chaotic atmosphere. While not particularly busy for that time of night, it was so loud that I couldn't hear anything over the noise from behind the wide-open work area and the music that was turned way up in an apparent attempt to cover up the former. This was made worse by the acoustics in the cavernous retail space. Seriously loud. It was like someone put a commissary in the middle of a sheet-metal factory. The place is also jammed packed with tables (perhaps overly-optimistically so) that made walking through the place difficult and sitting cramped feeling. It makes me wonder what the fire department capacity is for this place, as there where enough tables and chairs to accommodate a refugee camp. The checker helpfully explained the drill wherein you buy a basic burger and roll on all the extras. The food came relatively fast, although it was difficult to hear when your order is called out. The burger is relatively small but stacked high, with two better-than-average patties. I thought it was good, nothing special, but then I eschewed most of the fancier add-ons (they offer quite a bit of fancy stuff), so perhaps I'm to blame. The fries are pretty plain, basic homemade style, without too much seasoning and you really get more than you can eat, overflowing from a little cup and 2/3s of it in the bottom of your brown bag. It goes without saying that I had to take my food outside to eat it to escape the constant noise. They also do the peanut shells on the floor thing. Really? Who enjoys that? I've never understood that outside of sh*t-kicker taverns. It just made the place seem tacky when taken with all the noise. There are boxes and boxes of them around the dining area. I guess some people think that's cool or something. I don't know. Perhaps I am weird. I don't know if I would eat there again. While good, I didn't feel like it lived up to the hype and the price wasn't that great. read more

One star for each guy! I really wish there were more Five Guyses around- it is just so much better than the other burger places (except for Dick's and In and Out, of course). I really like that you can choose as many topping as you want for your burger- jalapeño city! Their fries are decent, better than In and Out, but worse than Dick's. I went around the evening time about 9pm, service at cashier was good. This was my first time at this establishment, maybe I'll try coming again. We ordered food to go, apparently I forgot the cardinal rule, "always check the order!!" should have known better since two other eat in customers came up to the counter and had items missing from their order. I ordered the little cheese burger with fries. The fries where good stuffed in a cup, meh. Cheeseburger, the meat patty was good the condiments were not, they where all just haphazardly thrown on which made the burger bread mushy. I believe they just made it and punched it with their fist it was incredibly mushy all wrapped tightly in foil paper. In the end I scrapped slot of the condiments off because I was incredibly hungry I ate the mushy bread and patty I think it was a burger. Followed by my mushy fries that were crammed into a cup. Not impressed. Maybe we will be back and try again, but I honestly don't think so. read more

Do not go too often; however, they are always good but a little greasy. This is burgers and fries though so what can you expect. They are no in-n-out, but they are much better than most fast food hamburger joints, and I consider this place a treat every once in a long while since it's not too good for my health. I have long wanted to try one of the burgers at Five Guys. I stopped the other night because I had to go to Petsmart to get some special litter for my cat. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and I was expecting to have a really good burger but when I got home and started eating it, the hamburger itself was tasteless and the bacon tasted like that microwave bacon. It was terrible. If I could give this burger less than 1 star I would. I threw away more than 1/2 of this burger and paid over $7. I could have gotten a better burger at MacDonalds.
