I've visited this location twice in the last couple of weeks. I have been traveling across country and frequent Five Guys due to liking a "real" burger over most fast food joints. The first time I ordered in person for to go. By the time I got back to our hotel and looked at the bag, half my order was wrong. The second time I ordered via the app for delivery. Second visit to 5 guys. I ordered reg fries and standard burger. Burger was good. Fries were terrible. I got in car after pick up and tasted fries. They were cold, over- cooked and mushy. Obviously sitting for a while above fryer. I tried some free peanuts while I waited. All my selections from box were stale and chewy. Must have been in open air for days. I tried to buy a second bun for my kid. The employees said they "don't do that". I just wanted to buy a bun!? I normally don't complain. But 18 bucks for a burger and fries? Horrible service. Ordered online and waited for about 40 minutes after they said it would be ready. Gave us our milkshake when we first got to the restaurant, then we proceeded to stand around for a half hour before finally asking someone what the issue was. They then proceeded to claim that our online order "just came through" even though they knew we got a milkshake? Until recently I was most familiar with the 5 Guys in Dickson City and a few out-of-state locations. This review is for the new 5 Guys Burger & Fries that just opened on Mundy Street in Wilkes-Barre Township. As evident by the heavy traffic still pouring into the Popeyes Chicken in Wilkes-Barre, the citizens of this area love their fast food, and are eager to try anything new. Unfortunately, "fast food" is a bit of a misnomer. I visited 5 Guys during their first week in business and the place was packed - I had to wait in line upwards of thirty minutes for my meal. There are many employees working at this location, more than I've ever seen before in a fast food restaurant, but even such an impressive human assembly line can't keep up with demand. The food is similar to other 5 Guys locations - their hamburgers put the likes of McDonalds and Burger King to shame. Though their menu items are more expensive than most, the quality of the meat and fresh ingredients is worth the extra dough. With seating for over fifty people the restaurant seems to be a bit bigger than the Dickson City location. read more

I love five guys! They make the burgers and fries FRESH every single time, and you can really taste that. The burgers are among the best burgers I have ever eaten (and I have had a $60 burger before). They are perfectly juice, greasy, cheesy, just amazing! The fries are a bit greasy for my taste and not as crispy as I usually like, but they are okay. I also love the peanuts that you can snack on (for free) while you wait (or after haha). Finally, a Five Guys has come to Wilkes-Barre. After avoiding virtually the whole Eastern/Central Pennsylvania area it's about time. Five Guys is part of the new Mundy Street Square, an outparcel of the Wyoming Valley Mall that was a Ground Round/First National Community Bank training facility. They share the reconstructed space with a Chipotle and Vitamin Shoppe. First, parking is a little odd in front of the stores with some spaces, but more are located on the side and in the back. Service was fast and we received our order quickly, faster than my last several visits to other locations. Five Guys Wilkes-Barre has two Coca-Cola Freestyle's. This location is smaller than others I've seen, has less seating, and I'm not sure they can handle a crowd. There are several long tables but only a few two and four seaters. That is pretty f@cking dumb, so while I'm waiting for you to cook my fries my burger is getting cold and I'm loosing time from my 1/2 hour lunch break. 90 % of people are taking the order to go so the fries will be cold anyway. I've gone here a handful of times. It's a bit pricey for just a burger and fries, but dang is it good. I always get a cheeseburger with a1, mayo and ketchup...so good. All their food is made fresh and pretty fast as well. I work 3 minutes away from this place so the online ordering is nice. I usually always order online, and then pick up in store. It allows you to pick a time to pick up, which is really useful especially if you are taking a lunch at a certain time to make sure your food is fresh. They also have a Coke machine with a ton of different flavor soda to choose from. Which, is also nice. Their milkshakes are also very good, but again I reiterate the fact that it's very pricey for just a burger and fries. The servers are very nice. They are all upbeat and very friendly. The last time I went, the guy gave me extra fries in the bag. Which was very nice of him. If you're looking for a nice change and a great tasting burger, then go to this place. But for the average person, that doesn't make a lot of money, then you will not eat at this place very often. read more

Five Guys is still fairly new to Wilkes Barre and even after several months it's fairly busy in the middle of the week. As we entered the cozy dining room we were welcomed by the counter-staff and 60s music. Menu is pretty straight forward: hot dogs and hamburgers, cheeseburgers, with bacon and toppings to include sautéed onions. We noticed a review on the wall stating: there isn't a freezer in the joint. This pointed to fresh ingredients used here. Loose ground beef, hand formed and grilled, fries that are cut daily from Idaho potatoes which were in Five Guys 50lb bags, piled in various parts of the dining room along with fresh roasted peanuts stored in large boxes. Custom, Free-Style Coke products and fresh-tasting real beef burgers on delicious soft buns. We were impressed! Prices are a bit higher but certainly worth it. Oh, yes, The Fries were excellent. I watched the folks packaging our food in paper sacks, first the cups of fries, then the double patty burgers wrapped in foil and the topped with another portion of hot fries (remember, they're fresh!) and the counter staff clearly shouts your order number.
