Place is stupid expensive. And the service when in the hitting bays was nonexistent. Had to track down people to get help.

A casual vibe, great place for beer and a group happy hour…read more Every time I come here I am amazed at how much fun it is and what a great draft selection they have. Walk in and there are plenty of tables, a couple of gathering areas, standing room narrow tables, an outdoor area, and a room off to the side. I went for the Logboat Dark Matter which I have had before in a can and wanted to try on draft. I enjoyed it very much. You know what is great?! Since they don't have food, you can bring it in yourself. Both times our group has met up here Katie's Pizza is the choice and its in the same parking lot. You can't go wrong with Katie's. Bartender is on the ball and friendly, TV's all around, not too loud so you can talk. Wednesday nights they have Trivia and I stayed for the first round, it was very current for the current event category. Get a pizza from Katie's, go here, have a beer, have fun!

We had 10 and we were able to sit around the long stationary table in the middle of the room. Global Brew Tap House does not charge for the event room. They ask for reservations and for the attendees to patronize the bar. Perfect for a meeting or a book club. I had a couple of beers. Wide selection of local and popular craft beers . Bartender was friendly and offered to keep a tab. Lots of parking. Loved this place!

They are so doing remodeling so the sign to the resturant wasn't up and I passed it at first. Once entering, I was greeted immediately and met with my friend. The host which was also our waiter was a delight. He was hilarious and very attentive. He made sure we had a wonderful experience and we did. We came around 12:30 on a Tuesday and it was steady. We started with the Shrimp and ordered margaritas. The Shrimp was so good. Right amount of sweet, spice and crisp. The margarita wasn't the best. Only because of their house tequila was used. While I finished it because I ordered it, it wasn't good at all. Next time I'll order a brand. We also had the catfish nuggets and wings. Everything was so good, seasoned just right and cooked to our liking. The manager (maybe owner, I'm not sure) came and checked on all the tables and asked how everything was. We saw some of the other trays being delivered and everything looked phenomenal. The service was top notch, food was delicious. Yes, I'll return for sure. Definitely a must try if you haven't.

The atmosphere was electric and drink specials. We're just as good as the meal itself. Just because it wasn't what I was looking for, I can't punish the store, and I think I'm not…read more.. But I'm going to admit with "Fox and Hounds", the problem was my expectations. British Bar INSIDE a "British designed hotel", so I had my hopes probably heightened more that it should have with my previous British bar results. I went in thinking British craziness and got a "Edgar Allen Poe" feel... But I'm going to say this was NOT what I was expecting. First and foremost, your eyes are going to need adjusting. Plain and simple, it felt more like a dark ... room? (Part of the problem I think is that as it was already June, you can forget using the fireplace to lighten the room up) so it felt.. "Small", and I"m going to feel weird saying this... "Romantic Horrorfest". Wait, before you go "wha??", this isnt' necessarily a bad thing. The Taxidermy , the photos on the wall. the fireplace. the VERY (and I mean VERY) dim lighting... The limited seating on the main floor, the one door in and out it had a "wooden cabin feel".. Yes, if you had a wonderful romantic film and it was suddenly invaded by some monster villain... This where it would take place and it would be perfect. (See I can find positive things to say about things i wasn't looking for) As for the service, apparently (going back to the Romantic filmfest), I was struggling to get any attention for the bartendress, cause I guess I was solo'ing by myself, and because of how I wasn't able to get the bartendress attention... I kinda felt like an unwanted customer in a place more for couples or friends getting together which had me leaving shortly thereafter, so no real food score (although I will say, much like Oh London ,the menu wasn't really much to work through...), Anyway, no TV's, no world cup game on the air.. just like I said a vibe of a cabin in a "romantic movie, where the monsters lurk". And Apologies for some of the iffy pictures, it just didn't feel right using a flash on the camera in such a secluded locale) and like I said, it wasnt' what I was expecting (rowdy British fans watching the local club or something), but there's something about it that even i have to admit, would make this location a nice "date night" or "out with friends' location, more so than just a single person looking for a nightcap. (And Maybe there really is a monster hiding in the fireplace, to keep the "Horror" feel going?? :)

My boyfriend and his friends rave about this place, so it was only a matter of time until I went…read more We all came Friday night and it was packed (which was to be expected because apparently it's always busy). We took the first table available, which happened to be in the middle of the entry way. It was a rather odd placement, but it beat having to wait! Our server was prompt and immediately gave us water and menus. Since it was late, I opted for something light and chose the blackened white fish that came with rice pilaf and veggies. Score for being healthy and fitting my macros without having to substitute. My boyfriend got the hot wings and a gyro salad, while his friend got the chicken kebabs and a salad. Their food came first while mine came later. I sampled a piece of the gyro meat and it was quite tasty but had a taco flavor, which I found odd considering we were at a Greek restaurant! My dish was good. It wasn't that blackened but it was still seasoned well and had great flavor. The vegetables were a bit basic and could have used more seasoning. Aside from that, the dish was a hit and our service was great. I'll for sure be back.

Pescatarian Verdict: #stlouispescatarianapproved…read more Sportsman's Park has been part of the city forever. The restaurant opened in 1974 as Jackie's Place, founded by NFL Hall of Famer Jackie Smith and Norman Probstein. In 1980, it was renamed Sportsman's Park after the legendary St. Louis ballpark that was once home to both the Cardinals and Browns. I was there with two friends for a little patio lunch, and I ordered the strawberry and spinach salad with salmon. And yes, #StLouisPescatarianApproved. The salad has spinach, strawberries, almonds, Mandarin oranges, bleu cheese and I subbed honey mustard dressing. Add salmon and suddenly lunch is doing exactly what lunch is supposed to do. It's very much a neighborhood institution, where people have been coming for decades and now bring their kids. Sometimes you don't need the newest restaurant in town. Sometimes you need a classic, a patio, a salad with salmon and three people who are perfectly happy to sit around and talk about food.

Food: 4 Stars Service: 1 Star…read moreAmbiance: 4 Stars I've been here a few times and each time the food options have been solid. Good bar selection, solid portions, and full of taste. I wouldn't say anything is out of the world, but great for a bar. Ambiance is just what you'd expect out of a neighborhood bar...cozy and warm. Each time, the service has been poor and the wait has been long. I finally decided to write a review after my experience yesterday. I sat at the bar with a couple buddies. Three servers (including the bartender) sat at a table chit-chatting while we waited for several minutes. Finally, the bartender came around and instead of acknowledging us, she continued chatting in the corner very close to us. We had to get her attention to order and she was clearly in a bad mood. Throughout our time there, we had to keep getting her attention without her making any real attempt at actual service. On top of that, we overheard her complaining about low tips and that one way or another she would get her money. In the end, she got one of our orders wrong and added an extra drink to the check which I wonder if that was the result of the comment we overheard. My poor service experiences at Sportsman's combined with those of many other Yelpers makes me also start wondering about the quality of the kitchen...if the front of the house doesn't care why should the back of the house?
