I am pretty sure we stopped at a different/ newer location further north on Tamiami Trail than this one. Anyway it was mid-morning on a Wednesday and pretty empty though there were plenty of donuts to choose from. The worker was very patient as I had him identity almost everyone of the donuts . I ended up choosing one covered in butterfinger and a long john variety that was filled with more of a cake frosting than the typical cream. I think the worker told me that but with our masks on I missed that detail. Both yeast donuts were denser and much chewier that expected - usually these types are light and airy. They were good but not my preference. The cake frosting filling in the one was good but then again not my favorite. The butterfinger topping on the other was tasty. Love this little hole in the wall mini donut shop in Siesta Key. It's attached to a small strip mall and convenience store in Siesta Village. We lucked out and there was no line but even if there is, don't let that stop you. It usually moves fast. There is no seating so you grab and go. The donuts are made fresh when you order so they're nice and warm when you get them. We had the classic cinnamon sugar ( my favorite), apple pie, strawberry cheesecake and glazed. All were good but my husband really loved the apple pie. I also had a vanilla iced coffee. I couldn't taste any vanilla but it was still really good. Donut creations from this store had been taunting me on Instagram for months. Being somewhat of a donut connoisseur and a fat kid at heart I had been eagerly awaiting my first taste of these highly Instagrammable treats. There is another Five-O Donut location on Ringling Blvd. I love the execution of the concept. On the times I have been the staff has been so great. I enjoy trying their limited and seasonal offerings. I most recently had their pumpkin cheesecake their apple cider donut "minis" ( which were more substantial and more like two or the bite donuts). I also had Although quite beautiful and enticing, some of the donuts were a miss for me my first time. I have learned that anything peanut butter is pretty good and the filled donuts are pretty great. The name and theme of Five-O is cute, although I do mot know about how law enforcement feels about it. Now these are some tasty donuts. Five-O has a large variety of menu items. All bundles are appropriately priced for their quality and size. There's limited seating inside, but the weather in Sarasota is so great, I recommend finding a place to sit in the area. The staff were friendly and helped answer any questions I had - fun fact, Five-O uses animal lard to fry their donuts (as opposed to synthetic oils like Palm or Canola). Of my donuts, the croissant donut and the maple bacon were by far my favorites. I will certainly be back to Five-O next time I'm in the area. read more

Oh man, am I in trouble?! Think I just found my next spot to satisfy my morning sweet cravings! It is a small spot, which makes it easy to walk in and see all of the donuts of the day on display. I heard that donuts run out quickly here, so don't delay your visit! I immediately walked in and was greeted by Sarah, who was so energetic and sweet. This place is pretty good. We went to their food truck during a lights event at Marie Selby. I loved the pumpkin and blueberry donuts. Upon first bite, the pumpkin donut had a strong cinnamon flavor and was less sweet than your typical pumpkin donut. It tasted a bit reminiscent of a pumpkin muffin. The blueberry donut had a great flavor with a small amount of glazed coating. However, since we got to the Five-O stand a bit late the donuts were a little on the drier side and crumbled very easily. I think offering some more solid coffee drinks and options would make this place perfect , they were out of the chai the 2 times I went and out of another coffee drink my friend wanted to order. The 5-0 theme is fun and adds to the experience. The donuts are served in a on theme box labeled "evidence." There is a photo booth at the front of the restaurant where you are able to take pictures and send them straight to your phone - fun!! My only word of caution is that you may need someone to pull you away from their products because you will want to eat yourself, silly by eating as many donuts as you possibly can. At least you will think about eating as many donuts as you possibly can! There are so many flavors and they are on the large side. Visiting a friend and stopped by for a quick doughnut. I decided to try two of their yeast doughnuts. First up was the Oreo. This was your standard yeast doughnut covered in icing and Oreo bits. This was a little on the dry side. The inside wasn't as moist as the outside. Next I tried the moose tracks. This was a yeast doughnut covered in chocolate, nuts, and little peanut butter cups. Best donuts in the area! I drive over an hour and a half to get there, but it's worth it every single time. They have special donuts every weekend and you can find the most up-to-date info on their Facebook page. There is also a rewards system for frequent eaters. I have pictures of the frosted animal cookie and the S'mores and yet those were some of my least favorite (but still delicious and much better than any competitors). These sell out quick, so get there early! You can even check the cameras on their website to see what they have in the case. But, for real, I dream about these donuts. Me and my friend got tired of looking at these donuts on Instagram all day so we decided to drive down from Tampa for them. Surely they didn't disappoint! The whole experience is exciting! Walking in their decorations with the donut boxes that say evidence is so funny, the line may be long but it moves fast and give you time to debate which flavor you are getting and how many you are getting hahah.. we got the cherry cheesecake, cookie monster, strawberry cream, and cake red velvet. They are all good, taste like a complex dessert! And the pricing isn't bad in anyway for the size of the donut. On the side they have a couple seats and an area for photo op!
