They did what we all wish every other American would do these days, they minded their own business... After about an hour cat nap, I felt decently refreshed and went inside to use the facilities and I bought some of their hot food items... I tell you what, NEVER in a million years would I have thought that I would eat the best BBQ rib sandwich from a gas station... Just this past Sunday I was in line with four people ahead of me when the person in front of me bought the last chicken. Before she could hardly write down my order 6 more customers came up and also asked for fried chicken. Then the announcement was 11 minutes. Before the 8 minute mark arrived 4 more people got in the cue to order more chicken! She announced that those last people might have to wait for another fresh batch. But this wait time did nothing to deter their enthusiasm for the delectable chicken that is different than KFC or any other restaurant in town. Besides chicken they offer other hot food that varies from day to day. In the cold deli case they have potato salad, chicken salad, jello salad, cakes, pies, and multiple choices of food to go. One of my faves are the pecan coconut cookies which are baked there and not too soft or too crispy but chewy and delightful. But I am focusing too much on the Delicatessen but this store also has a handy assortment of hardware items and paint. The workers are nice and helpful too. Quite possibly the worst gas station that I have ever been to in my life. We pulled up to the first…read morepump and you can't read the screen and therefore you can't pump gas. I then changed sides and went to another pump but the manager came out and said that the credit card machine wasn't working so I pumped the gas and was going to pay when complete. The gas pumped into my truck so slow that I thought they must've been almost out of gas. After 10 minutes I finally hit $12. I then went in and told the manager about it going super slowly and he proceeded to tell me that I was using super unleaded which is not what I wanted. He then walked outside and put in an additional dollar 35 to " show me that the pump was working fine". I did not want an additional $1.35 going into a rental car but she went ahead and charge me for it. It is a shame that in such a nice town there are scumbags like this. I would avoid this gas station and drive the extra half mile to any other choice.
