Nice venue!! Brittany G. Is super nice and was willing to help With our selection. She was very friendly and engaged in a nice conversation over our free samples!! If you get around Paducah give this place a try!!

My friend and I stopped in to check out the sweet wines and whiskey. The wine and service were good as well as the ambiance of the place. I bought a bottle of their Blackberry Whiskey to bring home with me because I thought my husband would like it. When we got back home we wanted to try the whiskey - it looked good and had a nice aroma but it TASTED TERRIBLE. I also let my brother try it and he said the same thing. Neither one of us could take more than a couple of sips before pouring it down the drain. Not sure what we are going to do with the rest of the bottle .

Stopped at Purple Toad driving from Kentucky to Illinois. What an awesome experience. My wife and I visit as many different wineries as we can and Purple Toad is definitely one of the best. Went in and said we'd like to do a wine tasting. We found out the tastings were free. 6 tastings, definitely did not skimp on the pour was such a great deal. Our server, Kaley H, was awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable, informative, great personality, just added to our marvelous experience. After our wine tasting we each had a glass of wine and relaxed. We ended up purchasing 3 bottles of wine...Caramel Apple and Chocolate Strawberry. The bottles were on average $2 less than other wineries we have visited. Great wine, served by Kaley in a beautiful setting. Can't ask for anything more.

Upon entering there is signage to wear masks and give their names to a hostess. Guests are asked to wait the room until their turn for tasting. Paper menus and pens are available for guests as they wait. After going to the tasting room guests are directed to a booth. Booths are separated by barrels and well labeled. There is plexiglass separating the staff. Guests get 8 tastings and samples are poured in plastic cups. If guests want to enjoy a bottle there was outdoor seating available. There are a lot of wines to try, especially if you like sweet wine (page and a half). Not going to lie, it was a lot of wine to choose from. There are some unique flavors (Cotton Candy) and fruit flavors. Everyone in my group really liked the Strawberry Leomonde. The dessert wine was also good (one tastes like a Tootsie Roll). If you like sweet wine this is definitely a good place to try.

Great variety of fruity wines! Highly recommend you stop in for a tasting (8 wines). We are taking home four flavors. Prompt, courteous and professional service.

We are on a girls trip heading to Nashville from Chicago on 57 south. We randomly saw a sign along the road for this winery and decided to take a detour and give it a shot. What a great decision!! The staff were friendly, wine was delicious and we were allowed however many tastings we wanted....for free! They had so many options, and a lot of sweet wine choices which I love. Lots of blackberry flavors. Outdoors and inside was plenty of seating, corn hole and nice views of the growing grapes or a lake. Lots of cute frog decor. They also had unique and cute wine accessories, home and artsy items. Inwas blown away by the option to buy smaller plastic bottles of the best selling wine choices. Maybe about a half bottle of wine size. Great gift idea!! This was a great stop on our road trip, highly recommend!

Around mid-June, my wife and I were in the Paducah, KY area on the way to visit some friends. We…read morehad time to kill, so we Googled if there were any local wineries. The one we decided to check out was Poca Terra Winery. Once you leave Paducah proper heading out to the rural areas the roads very much start to narrow and winding, our ride to Poca Terra being no exception. Once we found the winery the countryside was well worth the trip. Poca Terra is a small winery on what may have been a farm at one time. There is a small vineyard next to the main house. In the back of the property, there is a barn-type structure that the owners are converting into a tasting building. For the present, the couple who own the winery does their tastings on an outside porch at the main house. We were the only ones there so we were able to spend time with the owners tasting and discussing their wines and how they came about becoming winemakers. They inherited some antique but functional winemaking equipment passed on down the years from his grandfather who used to make his wines. The equipment originally came from Italy and supplements their more modern equipment. I have to say, even though they may be a smaller winery, their estate bottle dry wines were excellent. My wife and I bought all five of their dry wines. One was a rather unique rose aged in oak. They also bottle sweet and semi-sweet wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with John and Karen, the owners, and their wines. We will come back and I would encourage you if you are in the area to pay a visit.

I don't understand why you would charge us extra five dollars to take the cork out of the bottle for us. Are we supposed to carry a wine cork so we don't have to pay for that??? unless it's required by law which I don't believe it is a little ridiculous

Hubs actually was exploring our route and discovered this place so we bookmarked it in case we had time. Both times we visited, we were kind of strapped for time so we have yet to go on the tour. They do allow for tastings of their many boozes but they limit it to 6 or 8, which is very smart. I think we did not have that many our recent trip. Since we purchased 6 bottles our first trip (they give a discount for 6+ bottles), we were already familiar and wanted to try some of their new items. Both times we visited, we brought in our dog and she received a lot of attention. They have dog toys so of course I had to buy her one each time. Now those are really expensive! The prices vary for their bottles, maybe averaging about $55. Some are cheaper and many are more expensive than that. They also sell merchandise in the same room you do the tastings. We never have time but they do free tours and I wanna say they last about 45 minutes. It is in the middle of nowhere so it's not like you can make a day out of it any stay in town, while filling up an entire itinerary for a day. We really enjoy their bourbon and keep stock of the Blueberry and Mint Julep flavored bourbons. Everyone is always hospitable when we visit and that motivated us more to support them!
