I had enjoyed previous visits to Five Stones Coffee Company at their Redmond and Bellevue sites. I wanted to try this Kirkland spot about six weeks ago, but it was closed earlier for a staff event. Thankfully, we were able to stop in 45 minutes before closing time (4/21/26). A very welcoming barista crafted a pair of 16oz mochas with really nice coffee art. Note that cash payment is not accepted. Points can be accrued via Toast by signing up with your phone number. Nice clean cafe with plentiful natural light, healthy plants, and mirrors. There's merch and coffee roasts also available for purchase. I can't speak to pastries and other menu items since we were there towards the end of the business day. Majority of the folks seated along the counter were taking advantage of natural light while working on their respective laptops. Counter seating, as well as, table seating are available onsite. Yummy iced maple latte! The nutella cruffin was pretty good and the turkey pesto was good. The bread was thick and the cream cheese was good. Just standard turkey slices and tomato on top. There was lots of space inside and wifi for work. The service was good, food came out pretty fast! read more

This was a fun find in Kirkland! Their espresso is one of my very favs and I was excited to bring a bag home! It's roasty and rich with a little natural sweetness that just makes it a wonderful treat. The service wasn't bad but we did have to wait for a bit while employees cleaned and were chatting. The Stefano, OMG, ya gotta try the Stefano! We love getting the Cafe Stefano when going to Five Stones. They call it the "Gateway Drink" on the menu. It is essentially a mocha with hazelnut syrup and Ceylon cinnamon with an orange spritz on top. It is our go to drink when here. So delish and flavorful. I think the orange spritz on top really makes the drink stand out and one might say possible cocktail vibes. They also usually get the Smashed Avocado Toast which is made freshly and has chunks of avocado with cream cheese and lemon on two slices of sourdough toast. I've tried it and it is pretty darn tasty. My girls discovered the Five Stones in downtown Redmond years ago and we went there fairly often and then they were delighted when a new location opened in downtown Kirkland. This place is usually busy with ample seating and people on laptops or visiting over a beverage. This place was hopping! Met an old friend here at 8am and it was bustling with people. The line was long but it went fast, and the coffee was delicious. There were a couple people working with computers there and I don't think the vibe was traditional coffee shop (as it was open and pretty loud), but you do you if that's your thing! read more

Our Pride organization recently visited 5 Stones Coffee in Kirkland on Central Way to pick up an order purchased from Cupcake Royale for an event. While we were there we asked if they would be willing to display an "Everyone is Welcome" decal in their window--a small symbol of inclusivity for the neighborhood. The response we received was direct and disheartening. The barista behind the counter stated, "Our company doesn't support that." It appears we aren't the only ones who found this stance concerning. For those who prioritize supporting businesses that value diversity and open doors, you may want to take your business elsewhere. This is my ideal coffee shop to work in. The inside of the coffee shop is a bit unique, since it opens into the lobby of the building. You have a choice of sitting inside or outside of the cafe, in the lobby. I came around 1:30pm on a weekday and found plenty of street parking and seating inside. It's fairly quiet, with the exception of usual coffee noises, and most of the people inside were working/studying. I ordered a chocolate croissant and a hot chocolate. It was a good hot chocolate! The croissant was also nice and flaky. The quieter environment + good hot chocolate + lots of natural sunlight + good and fast wifi = a win in my book. read more

Five Stones is always my favorite coffee spot! One of their specialty drinks, the Cafe Stefano, is my go-to drink and is a latte made with vanilla, hazelnut, cinnamon and orange. It is so unique and so delicious, a drink that you can't order anywhere else. I also love their avocado toast! It's massive and comes with fresh lemon and is one of my favorite meals to grab out. The coffee shop has a few locations and friendly staff at every one, this Kirkland location is medium sized with some seating and parking available. Be a leader. Please explore having your prices be more equal - if you need to charge a bit more on regular coffees, cow milk, baked goods, etc. just spread it out so you don't penalize those choosing whether for medical, health, the environment or out of compassion for animals... non dairy milks. I was in Washington for a few days, and my friend introduced me to this coffee shop. I love drinking matcha and don't usually go out to buy matcha lattes, especially because most places don't offer it unsweetened. Well to my surprise, Five Stones did! And for almond milk, they use the Califia brand that I like. It was perfect, so we started our day here every morning for the rest of the trip. There was one day where we got there a little late, so the line was almost out the door. Lesson learned for the next day - order online, then walk in and go straight to the pickup area. This has easily become my favorite coffee shop in Kirkland! The staff is super attentive, and you can tell each of them really care about coffee quality, and the precision of each drink. My lattes are always incredibly balanced and coffee forward, unlike others that taste like milk. Though I haven't had the pleasure of staying and working from this café yet, it's always packed, which is a great sign. They carry Macrina pastries and offer delicious-looking breakfast sandwiches that I will have to try next time. Free parking too! read more

My boyfriend got an americano. Main gripe about his was that it kept leaking everywhere even with the lid and it was super hot :( The coffee beans had a fruity note. Taste was OK - no sour or bitterness but nothing that stood out. His rating was a 3/5. Amazing almond croissant, love their toasts and if and when the manager Andrew makes the cappuccino breve it is phenomenal... perfectly foamy yet rich and velvety in texture. It's balanced and brilliant, exactly what a great cap breve should be. Unfortunately no other barista there knows how to steam a breve right and the rest either burn the milk or don't know how to get foam in there without overheating it and ruining it... off late it's been consistently milky and gross because the best hands in the place no longer makes any breves. so gonna have to look for a new coffee spot. read more

This is an optimistic and limited 4 Stars rating. Full disclosure that I've only tried their pastries. I didn't know Five Stones had opened when I was heading to Bartell Drugs next door. The place looked great, so I decided to also stop there. Two visits here were later in the afternoon, and I decided against the coffee. Their pastries, especially their croissant items, visually look AMAZING. They tasted great, too. I must admit I didn't pay a lot of attention to the cost, cuz the layers and layers of pastry is enough to convince me. So far, we've tried: Favorite: Chocolate Croissant - tasted extra good after taking it home and giving a quick 2 min bake. The chocolate melted and blended so well with the layers of pastries. 2nd Favorite: Butter Croissant - A well-executed classic is always appreciated. I warmed it up a bit at home, and again, the bite into the layers is superb. 3rd Favorite: Nutella Cruffin - Just the sight of it is a visual treat. However, I'm not keen on how the dough needs to fold upon itself to form the muffin shape, thereby making the inside a denser bite, loosing that flakiness. Nonetheless, it's still very good. Always a great experience here at Five Stones in Kirkland. This is my go to spot these days Kirkland. They have great parking which is a big plus and it's really close to a lot of good walking areas. I'm literally giving 4 stars because of how good the granola cookie was. Most of the time when I go to a coffee shop, the baked goods are all sourced from Macrina Bakery and I'm not a huge fan of their stuff. I was so excited to learn that Five Stones makes all their stuff in house. I got the nitro cold brew and it was okay, not exactly my thing, I should have stuck with a drip or americano, it was a tad too acidic for my taste. However, the granola cookie was everything I could want and more. The middle was soft, the edges crispy, pieces of white chocolate, cranberry, oatmeal studded in a basic base of just solid cookie. Sigh. The snickerdoodle was okay, similarly had that crispy edge and soft middle but not as good as Nordstrom's. This granola cookie though has got me wanting to make another trip. Service was good and friendly. It got pretty busy pretty quick so we were lucky to snag seats at the bar. The space isn't huge but we were still able to have a decent conversation without having to shout. Super cute interior. read more

I go out of my to visit this cute coffee shop with excellent barista and exquisite pastries. They have teas and a variety of seasonal and specialty concoctions and french pastry. Parking is on street or underground and it shares and entrance lobby with a fine dining restaurant and a residential apt building. It's not all that comfortable , a bit cold and hard inside as far as seating goes, but it's quaint and they still serve beverages in coffee cups and pastry on plates so it feels cozy. The clientele is more single parties doing work or grabbing a coffee before an appointment than it is a social meet up setting. The moment I walked in I was greeted by the staff and the scent of coffee! The open floor plan gave me a view of the wide variety of fresh pastries that looked delectable! The staff were friendly and were able to make the perfect recommendation. I tried the cafe Stefano which is a house specialty latte with hazelnut and vanilla syrup with cinnamon and a note of orange. A great spot for good coffee in downtown Kirkland. We checked this place out on a Saturday morning around 11am and were able to get some work done while we enjoyed our drinks. I had a coco vanmint which I thought was good but more straightforward than I was hoping. My wife had a peppermint chai and thought it was great. There are plenty of other drinks on the menu that I want to try, and the owner seemed to really care about properly brewed coffee, so we'll definitely come back to try a few more things off the menu. Tried 5 Stone for the first time and asked for a recommendation from the barista. Everyone was very kind and knowledgeable and they talked me into trying their most popular latte which was the Cafe Stefano. I came in today for the first time. Immediately walking in I appreciated all the seating they offer and the free wifi password is posted in several places. Seems like it'd be a great place to work for a bit or have a meeting, which several people were doing this morning. I got an oat milk latte and a Nutella cruffin. These are both great and the coffee tastes very high quality. The only thing I struggled with a little was not knowing what everything was. None of the baked goods were labeled so I just had to point/describe what I wanted. I see in other Yelp pictures they had labels on the baked goods so I'm hoping those come back. I also noticed there wasn't a list of flavors or syrups you can get in your latte. I normally order one plain but it would be nice to see what flavors are offered.
