I have been wanting to try Kirkland Bakery for a while now, finally made it for a late lunch today. I got the Prosciutto, Fig Jam, and Goat Cheese sandwich, Quiche Lorraine, and Strawberry Italian soda. The Prosciutto, Fig Jam, and Goat Cheese sandwich comes with a salad. Saw this while walking around with a coworker and decided to try it out. It's a cute little bakery. I got the ham cold sandwich and it was - lot bigger than I was expecting. I barely ate half of it and was definitely filling!! I also got a London fog in a to go cup since I was planning on taking it for later but the to go cup is just a little white cup like a kids cup that wasn't really for to go so I ended up drinking it there cause it really was only a few sips. . . Love this neighborhood bakery in the heart of downtown Kirkland. On my first visit I had a chocolate croissant and raspberry croissant, both were flaky and flavorful and generous sized. On my second visit my wife and I decided to try some of their breakfast croissants, and they were savory and filling, and matched perfectly with the drip coffee and mocha we ordered. I think our favorite pastry was the fresh fruit cream cheese croissant, that was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Also took home a blueberry muffin that I enjoyed the following day. And service is so friendly here, she treats everyone like a personal friend! Came here on Sunday morning and it wasn't crowded at all. The place is nice and clean and open and a good place for coffee. The person taking my order was very helpful and suggesting some good pastries. It seems like they are mainly focusing on croissants and variations of it with different fillings and toppings. I got: Cinnamon roll - really tasty even at room temp. You get the strong cinnamon taste and it wasn't too sweet Turkey and herb croissant - yummy, a good lunch as it was filling and hearty. Guava and cheese strudel - standard. I do like that it wasn't overly sweet. Definitely will be back to try their other things to see if it's consistent. We have heard such great things about this bakery and were excited to try as we just moved into the area, today we're really sad to have experienced such poor service from a gentleman that made our coffee today. He was wearing a grey shirt and had long dark hair pulled back into a pony tail. We ordered a pastry and a small iced latte with oat milk with a girl at the counter. When we received our first coffee it was made with far too much milk. When I approached the gentleman at the counter I kindly asked if he could remake the coffee because I thought when I ordered a small coffee it would have less milk. He told me they only have one size for iced drinks which is completely fine however the young lady did not specify that there was one size. Regardless the coffee still had too much milk for any size. When I let him know we were unaware I asked would you mind just remaking the coffee for us with a little less milk. His response was "suuuure" with a lot of attitude as if it was a major inconvenience. When he remade the coffee he handed us a half filled cup with about 4 ice cubes and a poorly made coffee. I'm not kidding it was half filled! (I wish I took a picture of the coffee for proof) when he gave us our coffee he said "half size latte ready" with so much pettiness in his voice and when I looked at the cup I could not help but laugh that he was serious. I did not ask for a half filled cup all I kindly wanted was a little less milk in the coffee. We were so displeased with the situation we politely asked for a refund for the coffee only, he very sternly said "no actually you cannot" "that's what you ordered" I told him that's not what I ordered and we expressed to him that we felt like he was being petty and we really didn't appreciate the unfriendliness and poor attitude he was exhibiting, that was more upsetting than anything about the coffee itself. He continued to refuse to refund us with continued rudeness. The girls working today were so nice and friendly but this guy truly made us never want to come here again. The cream cheese, fresh fruit croissant was delicious. The croissant was crispy on the outside, but had a soft inside, perfection! The filling was sweet and creamy and altogether it was a great combination. I also had the café breve, which was wonderfully strong. The espresso was roasted a little darker than I like, but had a nice flavor. The ambience was clean and professional and overall had a great feeling. Everyone was having a good time. A go to spot when I was younger and still living in Kirkland. Recently came back for the holidays and decided I'd go back and nothing has changed! Always packed, lots of space to sit and work inside or just enjoy your food / coffee. They have a full coffee menu that is delicious but you're missing out if you don't try the crepes or pastries. We love this place! Recently came on a Saturday morning. We just waited in the car until they opened at 8am. As soon as you open the door, you're greeted with the delicious smell of coffee and freshly baked pastries... yum! The workers were friendly.After my order was packaged in a box, one of the bakers thanked me for coming in. I just purchased a bear claw for the second time from the bakery. First time ,last week, I returned it because it had absolutely no layer of sweet almond paste in the middle of it (like a bear claw should.). I went back today to try them again and talked to the employee who looked at the bear claw that I returned last week (and agreed at that time that it did not have any filling. ) This is a picture of another one today. If you don't wanna work here, don't work here. But don't be rude. It's clearly that someone doesn't know how to manage people because the workers there couldn't be more unhelpful. It's also a joke that they ask for you to tip before providing any service whatsoever. They haven't cleaned up a plate. They haven't even heated my muffin at that point. Yet, we're tipping like they've done something. Just the opposite they aren't doing anything. They're doing less than nothing because they're being rude on top of the fact that they're not doing any real service. I asked them to heat my muffin and then they just left it on the table for me to come get at the front desk. They said they called me but by the time I got my muffin, it was cold. I definitely didn't hear them. Call me and I was 15 feet away from them and they weren't going to bring it. Ridiculous. On top of it add this sign. I wonder if they understand how presumptive this is to have a sign that basically says hey if you you're gonna bus your own dishes, make sure you do it the right way. Not thank you for doing our job for us or maybe even earning our tip but trying to train us to do their job for them. Somehow the kids are running this place and the adults are not adulting. I live a couple blocks away and couldn't recommend this place less unless you wanna get the worst service of your life. read more

The staff are amazing, they are always welcoming or wave if they're in the back cooking delicious things. They had this peanut croissant last weekend, oh my goodness the peanuts and filling - it was like a holiday to eat it. I hope they keep making it. The cinnamon croissants have been my go to, if you like cinnamon rolls but not a ton of icing- these are perfect , light n fluffy. This is by far my favorite bakery. I've never seen flys, always clean and the pastries, or cake slices are generous. The staff are amazing too. It's in a nice area, relaxing corners to sit inside or outside. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the extensive menu that included baked goods, breakfast croissants, a variety of quiche, paninis & crepes! You can literally have breakfast and stay for lunch. there was a consistent stream of customers and the music was great for chilling out with friends having a latte or for getting an assignment done for work. There's a lot more space inside than anticipated. And more importantly the staff were ALL very friendly- genuinely! We will definitely be back. Went on a Sunday morning. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with the scent of freshly baked croissant....so that's a great start! I just wanted an almond croissant and an americano. The others with me both got croissant sandwiches, with egg and avocado and bacon or ham. Our food was excellent. The almond croissant was a real treat. Flaky and a little chewy (just enough) and light and flavorful- without an excessive amount of almond filling. It was a delicious flaky croissant. The sandwiches looked great and judging by the fact they were both devoured, I'll take that as a sign they tasted great too. The ambience is a little strange. It's a big place and judging from the size of the kitchen, a true bakery, where they are making everything on site. The baker/chef who made the sandwiches, was also making crepes and commanded the kitchen with ease. He was fun to watch as he was really good at what he was doing and doing it with a smile. The seating area is the weird part. For such a big place there is not a lot of seating. It could maybe be set up a bit different to get more bistro tables in there. I loved the giant menu chalkboard wall. It made it easy to read while waiting in line so that we were ready to order when we got to the front. The prices were average and I felt well priced for everything being made in house, and good portions. The staff seemed pleasant enough. I mentioned the cook. The register person was fine and the coffee people didn't engage really. Nothing to write home about on that front, but nothing negative either. My only suggestion would be a better seating arrangement, more selection as everything was a flaky pastry (croissant or danish) and two choices of muffins. It would be great to see a really good baguette available as well as maybe an English scone or a cinnamon roll or something. They do make crepes, so that is nice. And lastly, the coffee was just ok. Not sure what they use, but seeing as most of their items have a bit of a French vibe, I feel like it should be a good European or French coffee. It was very clean and inviting except on the cold morning that we were there ( temps in the 30's), the front door stayed open so it was hard to actually warm up.
