Had a great experience here! Everyone at Fix Auto Costa Mesa (and Geico) made the process so easy on me and my fiancé! My car received some damage and we set up an appointment through Geico to have the damage fixed. The customer service was stellar at Fix Auto! The workers were friendly, nice, and informative. They let us know it would take us a few days to receive a quote and that they would call us with updates on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our car ended up being done faster than we expected. My car was at the shop and ready after a week. We also appreciated that we were able to schedule a rental through Geico to be ready to be picked up and used at Fix Auto. When picking up our car, we just left the rental at Fix Auto for return. So easy! Overall, a great experience at Fix Auto! Speedy and great customer service! I initially left this review on Google Reviews and felt it should be here on Yelp, too... My car was vandalized and 4 windows were shattered + body damage. Fix Auto Costa Mesa was listed as recommended by my insurance, so I called them. My car took 4 weeks to be completed, which is fine since I understand supply chain challenges... But that's not why I am leaving a negative review. When I picked up my car in March, it would not start correctly. I have keyless entry/start (my car can start with the key in my purse + the plastic fob in the ignition). After their work, my car would ONLY crank when the physical key was in the ignition. The tech said, "Well, it works this way, so why don't you just do that?" Because that's not the same as how it worked BEFORE you worked on it? Long story short, a fuse blew. Upon trying to start my car the next day, it wouldn't. I placed my battery on the charger/repair cycle and it held for a day before failing again. I bet the staff at Fix Auto didn't properly disconnect my battery, so my battery died. It was 3 years old, but most batteries last 5? Regardless, I went ahead just bought a new one. 2 days later, I get a call from Fix Auto saying "someone left their airpods in your trunk and Find My iPhone says it's at your home address." Comforting, right? I drove it over to them. I don't often have passengers in my car, so it took a week to notice that the front passenger door lock didn't work (Fix Auto replaced that window). I noticed it was getting jammed as I opened/locked the door and that a grommet was missing from the interior side. They missed putting a component back (see pic). They fixed the grommet and said that should fix the door lock. It didn't. The door handle was getting stuck (see picture), even after the grommet was corrected. I was frustrated and asked for the manager of the shop. She stated that the door handle was stuck "due to wear." Please explain to me how the door handle not working is MY FAULT, when it worked PERFECTLY prior to me dropping it off. Wouldn't the driver side door show wear 10x sooner than the passenger side, since the driver side is utilized far more frequently? Annoying response, but she caved and agreed to fix the handle. She placed the part on order and I was to return after a few days. The part arrived and I went back (we're in April now). Upon checking in my car, a tech did a walk-around and informed me that the back passenger side window wasn't rolling up properly. That back window was one that Fix Auto replaced after the vandalism. I said that AGAIN, this is due to Fix Auto's sloppy handiwork. They fix the window in addition to the reason for this visit-- the handle they destroyed. I left my car overnight and received a call the next day that they still can't fix the handle because they need ANOTHER part (the one they ordered isn't sufficient). They can't even properly diagnose what's wrong. I asked for my car to be reassembled and that I'd bring it back after my vacation (out of the country for 2 weeks). We're in May now. I asked Fix Auto to pick my car up, work on it, and bring it back because I am sick of the 6+ times I've had to return to the shop and coordinate rides. They finally return my car and I think I'm finally DONE with them. Now... I'm sitting in my car on my lunch as I write this because even after I thought my car was back to normal, it's not. The interior door handle of the back seat, passenger side, felt sharp as I shut it. They worked on this door's window. Something wasn't right. I rummaged through my backseat and found an unfamiliar plastic component (see pic). The handle didn't have this plastic clicked back in. GO FIGURE. If you can AVOID going here, I suggest it. My car was flawless when it was involved in a Hit & Run causing damage to the front end. Fix Auto sold themselves on being a trustworthy shop, especially with Hondas. They did a nice job on the repairs. The vehicle was rear ended in a separate accident later on. Being happy with Fix Auto, we took the vehicle back there. At the time, they were either changing ownership or something but they were being extra careful with overselling the trustworthy Honda shop, in fact they were not even on our insurance list anymore but we still chose them (Mercury) - I had worked with lady at the front desk before from the previous accident, as well as I referred another client to them. I arrived and explained to the lady that the vehicle was rear ended pretty hard, and that it appeared the front bumper had been knocked off a bit from the impact. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A manager came around the corner and went to look at my Vehicle and first thing he said was "That wasn't caused by the new accident we're not doing free work" - he said it in such a tone that was like Shut up were done here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I looked confused at the lady and said "I'm not looking for free work I would like my car made whole, in addition you supposedly guarantee your work on the car for life." - [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lady was speechless and looked like "I can't say anything differently than what he just said"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - [[HIGHLIGHT]]My wife and I wasted a day off work to be at Fix Auto for our appointment only to be treated like we just wanted something Free.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We left, and Caliber Collision not only fixed the rear end, they looked at the front end and said it was some simple clips that looked like not all of them had been reinstalled. Caliber escorted us to the Rental car place, and when our vehicle was done, we arrived to it shiny & clean. I was super disappointed with Fix Auto because I gave them so much praise at first. Her reasoning is because the insurance already gave me a quote with keystone aftermarket part's. I found them on Honda's website as a Honda certified repair center yet they won't use Honda OEM parts. Fix Auto was recommended by my Insurance Company. Somebody hit and ran on my wife's Pearl White Accord. It left a small dent on the Detail of one of the front panels. Fix Auto made it look flawless. Unfortunate event but thankful for the team at Fix Auto. Although I didn't have to pay the invoice, Their pricing seemed Fair. While they took the time to inspect vehicle, and do paperwork - The shuttle showed up to bring me to my rental car. Shortly after my incident, My mother was also hit and ran, causing more damage to her Audi than my car. She was impressed with the work done on my accord, that she brought her Audi in as well. Appointment was at 0830 and although it "opens" at 0800 don't bother coming in early since the receptionist won't appear until 0830. Thereafter, regardless of what order you arrive in, returning customers are favored/processed first. Additionally, the electronic appointment reminder (that informed me of a cancellation/no show fee) arrived five minutes after my appointment started. Not helpful. The front desk woman wasn't helping this business' reputation on this day. NOT a great first impression. Once Alison came on board things improved. Efficiently handled with an approximate fifteen minute inspection/interaction and we were on our way. Within 4 days we received the estimate, let them know we wanted to proceed but needed insurance to okay and this place to give us an appointment slot. Was able to bring car in within a week. Alison remained consistently awesome. Super appreciated they provide Uber, if needed, to get home. Weeks later... allegedly they called us repeatedly to say car was ready. They had two phone numbers and we received only one email from Ashley. The front office is consistently less than impressive with every experience. The repair was well done. read more

This continued for 3 whole days until they actually had the reflector for my car. I showed them how trashed my car was and how they broke my dogs car bed. Dave and manager Matthew promised that they would replace them. Don't bother with this place. Customer service is truly lacking. I got my car fixed here it was a slow process and was not fixed properly so I had to come back and wait again while they fixed their mistakes. I got a full tank of gas coupon from the company as a courtesy for the inconvenience. Today when I was trying to redeem it, I was told the company has been bought and they will not honor it now. Had an accident recently and they fixed up my Mazda like it was brand new. They had to replace the bumper, the left front door and fix some other more serious issues too. The repair took longer than expected but that's a supply chain issue that's beyond their control. They took care to inform me that there may be delays. After 8 months I finally recovered my wheel that was damaged accidentally during my repairs. After months of poor communication from the shop 848362 calls later. Customer service is mediocre along with calls being returned. Come here if you want to play phone tag for months stay out of the loop of your own build. It might work for regular cars that don't have special wheels but don't bring luxury cars here. Management is in shambles along with production to output completed vehicles. read more

I'm honestly beyond frustrated right now by the zero communication from this business. I have been trying to get someone to contact me with the estimate for my car for 4 weeks. And it's not a lack of trying on my end. I went in for an appointment to get an estimate on Wed., 7/26/2023; the person who helped me was the general manager, Armando. It was a quick and easy appointment; the initial estimate and timeline seemed reasonable, and Armando told me a quote would be emailed to me by the end of the day (FYI, I would pay out of pocket for the work). I hadn't heard anything by the end of business day Friday, 7/28, but it was no big deal, so I emailed Armando to follow up. I never received any response to my initial email, so I sent a follow-up message through the business' website the following Thursday (8/3)--still nothing. So, I called Wednesday (8/9); the front office staff was friendly and said they would forward my message, and I should receive an email with the quote or a phone call. Nothing. I decided to do one final round of trying to contact someone. I emailed Armando and Alison (the supervisor on the website) on Tuesday morning (8/15). Nothing. So, I called in late Friday morning (8/18) and spoke to Roxanna at the front. I explained I had been trying to get in touch with someone and hadn't heard anything. They were friendly and apologetic, and they took down my number and email and said someone would contact me by email or phone. As of Wed., 8/23, at 1 p.m., still nothing. Our family mechanic recommended this place because the prices were reasonable and they did good work, but seeing as I could never get any follow-up from someone, I can't speak to that. read more

The staff here are amazing. I'm so grateful for the straight up honesty and high quality work. I had first gone to a different shop to get an estimate and Fix Auto was my second one. The first one was going to charge me $120 for the door check. When Armando at Fix Auto saw it, he went and got a specialized wrench and tightened the bolt (omg, that's all it was) for free. It took 2 minutes. So I left my car with Fix Auto to fix my side view mirror using OEM parts. They were 100% honest about what was replaced. The dealer (the mirror had been broken for a while) and other auto shop said that the entire unit had to be replaced, not just the parts. Fix Auto fixed the side view mirror and housing using OEM (yea, dealer) parts and it looks as good as new with the electrical adjustments and light working. I'm always taking my cars here for service. The best service ever! Friendly office and tech staff, too! It's so hard to find auto body shops that are honest and do awesome work, and I found the best one here at Fix Auto in Costa Mesa. Took my car here to have rear bumper redone. Two weeks earlier I took it to a recommended body shop and they made it worse. Paint started bubbling and pearlized paint they used was not a match. Alison at FixIt was able to replace with a new bumper and gave me an incredible price. Car was done in one day; it is a perfect color match; they even cleaned my car inside and out; making it look brand new. Staff incredibly helpful, courteous, professional. After my car was (rudely) hit and ran I filed a claim with my insurance company and Fix Auto came up as one of the auto shops that partnered with Mercury. I made an appointment to do an inspection and not only was I seen promptly, I was able to take my car in for repairs and set up with a car rental right then and there and I was on my way. I was updated throughout the whole repair instead of being left in the dark about what was going on. My car looks great and the whole process was quick, stress free, and as seamless as could be. The quality of the repair wasn't great, after receiving my vehicle there was a strange noise coming from the top of the steering column. On top of that they stole one of my messenger bags that was in the back seat. My window was broken into the night before I took it in and I made sure everything was there when I first saw it. I took the messenger back with me to the body shop and left it in the vehicle. When I got the vehicle back the messenger bag was gone along with my belongings. Fix Auto (specifically the manager James) did not want to work with me because I would not sign a "liability" form. I was rear-ended by a Geico covered party that admitted fault. You can choose your own body shop even if it's not connected to Geico. Fix Auto said "I wouldn't allow them" to work on the car because I didn't sign the forms. I'm not liable for anything. I called Geico's adjuster to the claim and they said they have never heard of it and that it was good that I DO NOT sign. Even Sarah Ellis, the Geico estimate lady said I do not have to sign (this is after trying to get my car towed there for hours since Sarah Ellis did not call the tow company after 2 hrs and I called the tow company that didn't know my case or my car. They refused to work with Sarah since they were not informed and I had been waiting for hours). LEGALLY you don't have to sign anything. I hired and attorney and they also agreed not to sign liability to anything EVEN if you want to switch to another body shop. Fix Auto then said they would not see the damages to my car, yet Sarah Ellis from Geico said they they opened my trunk. Then she said that they would not give a report even though she said they opened my car. I wanted my car to go to DEALER SERVICES body shop because they are professional and would see the car WITHOUT signing a liability form which they found odd that customers would need to sign. When Sarah Ellis wanted to give a check for my totaled car she wanted me to do the paperwork at Fix Auto instead of sending me the paperwork by mail to my house as she had been before. Pick your own FAMILIAR body shop and you DO NOT have to sign any paperwork. I have triple A so next time I'll just have it taken to the body shop instead of waiting 4 hrs that you might have your car picked up. DEALER SERVICE is also where my boyfriends cousins and uncles who are attorneys go to. Very trusted, professional, and generously kind. As a side note, I'm still working on recovering from my injuries. I hope it all settles soon with my full recover and car. Geico took away my rental even though I could have had it longer, so hopefully she will pay me the check so I can have a vehicle and recover. There's always a seed for opportunity to do more in life no matter what circumstance. Something great is going to happen because where there are challenges, there are blessings. read more

Enterprise rent a car- picked me up and I got the car rental for a week. Allison always informed me on the updates to my car. A guy hit me in the parking lot and my insurance had fix auto in their list of shops. I had the deductible waived because he was at fault. Fix auto showed me the hit was so light the bumper could be just snapped back in. He did some magic and pressed my bumper in certain places, like in movies when they reset a dislocated joint and it gets fixed suddenly. He then helped me buff the scuff where guy bumped me. Fix auto dude said no charge because it was so quick and easy. Even when he could have an easy job / invoice done from my insurance they instead hooked me up with free quickie repair.
