Super fast turn around time! I took my car over to them after having a piece of debris fly up and break the headlight and dent the hood on my car and they gave me an estimate that was also sent to my insurance. They needed to order the headlight and said they'd call me when it came in. Yesterday they told me the parts were ready so I dropped it off at lunch. Today, they called me and told me the car was ready to be picked up! The headlight was fixed and the hood repainted in just 24 hours! You can't even tell there was every any damage. I'm sure this was a much smaller repair than they are used to, but the service and speed was incredible. They even washed my car for me before I picked it up. I'll never go anywhere else! read more

These guys were open during Covid and fixed a nail in my tire. Tesla wanted to replace the tire for $450 and these guys were adamant about a quick $30 fix. Fix Auto in Costa Mesa is absolutely amazing! I was referred to them by my insurance company so I was slightly hesitant but called them to see when I could come in for an estimate. I needed to get in as soon as possible and spoke with Lynnsey and she was able to get me in within an hour to get my car looked at by Jorge. Once I got to the shop, Lynnsey remembered who I was and was super friendly, she offered me coffee/water while I waited for the estimate to be completed. Jorge was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond with answering all of my questions in regards to the repairs and the next step I need to take with the insurance company. The following day, I spoke with James over the phone to schedule my drop off appointment on a Monday. He helped me find the right Enterprise location that they work with and made sure I would be able to drop off my car super early in the morning so I wouldn't be late for work. I was really nervous about dropping off my car and then not making it to work on time and he assured me he would streamline everything for Monday morning. If it weren't for James, I would have been panicking Monday morning trying to get to Enterprise. Once my car was dropped off, I received email updates from Fix Auto throughout the day and final repair costs from Lynnsey via email, thoroughly explaining everything to me. My car was even finished a day earlier than they originally expected and due to my work schedule Lynnsey, Jorge, and James stayed a few minutes late to assist me so I could pick up my car after work. I was waiting to see if they were going to correct their mistake and instead i am left with a $500 bill to fix my own LED tailight after i was rear ended but since it there was no code so it wasnt "accident related". I clearly told them about the light out the same day I was hit, they charged me to remove inspect and replace it. When I first picked up my car the exhaust was still bent so i had to leave it for another 5 hours and then came back at 5pm to pick it up I was told the light was fixed, it was still light out so I couldnt tell but took their word for it. Thirty mins later when the sun went down I took a pic showing it was out called the manager and he told me he would have Geico approve it, then ignored me for another two weeks. My light has been denied now as not "accident related" even though they replaced the whole bumper around it but somehow my light being out doesnt cover it. They paid for my Uber back to Long Beach after I dropped it off, they looked at other issues in my car and offered some advice, and they added some air conditioning fluid without charge. Fix Auto was not a good place at all. They did a terrible job on my car. It was dangerous the way they tried to fix my car. There was a dent in my car, the car was filthy and there was zero gas, they ran up the mileage. Lexus ended up having to redo the entire procedure because it was done so poorly. read more

i wish i could give specialty body works more than 5 stars -- they are that good! i came in looking to fix a dented front fender and a broken side mirror. javier helped me and was as nice as could be. i told him that cost was important and he worked with me to come up with a reasonable estimate, explaining everything in detail. he also explained to me the difference between using OEM parts and after-market parts, which tend to be much less expensive and often as good or better quality than the original part. when i told him that i had found a cheaper side mirror online, he offered to install it and paint it, saving me $85 right there! in fact, the estimate i got here was less than half the cost other places gave me -- incredible! on top of that, they had my car ready for me in only 3 days, compared to at least a 4-day repair everywhere else! i got my car back today, and it is nothing short of amazing. it looks like nothing ever happened! the front fender was replaced, and it looks absolutely perfect as does the paint job. SBW's work is absolutely fantastic, and it seems that they take great pride in doing a excellent job. i'm so happy i called my mechanic (south coast auto clinic) and asked for a recommendation. it goes to show you that good businesses tend to work together. if you need some work done, go to SBW -- your wallet and ride will be happy! read more

Javier should be given a medal for being so awesome! I recently bought a 2003 Toyota Matrix XR from someone of Craigslist, and there ended up being some water randomly appearing in the front and back floor on the passenger side. I do not think the owner was aware (not driving it for a while) so I was not mad. I was referred to Specialty Body Works by South Coast Auto and boy am I happy I went in. Javier told me it would be $184 just for a teardown to figure out what was wrong (could have been the sunroof condensation hose, the AC condensation hose, or even the AC leaking coolant so there could have been a number of things that would've cause it). They determined it was the AC condensation hose clogged and the floor boards misaligned (hose was leaking into the floor instead of onto the ground). Only charged me $184 still for the cleaning of the hose and resealing the floorboards with silicon. They even power washed the car to make sure nothing was leaking into the car or from the sunroof. Awesome Fast forward a week... Front passenger floor is bone dry, but the back is still somewhat what... I call Specialty Body Works back up and Javier tells me to bring it in after a few days to make sure it wasn't something from the car wash (recently had my car detailed). So, I bring the car in and they find out that the AC hose was also misaligned (they didn't suspect it) and that it had actually been happening for a while. Water damage had taken place in the padding under the carpet and they were completely soaked and ruined. Javier said he would need to keep it overnight to let it dry, and find padding from an upholstery company. I get a call the next morning and Javier tells me he found padding and that it's installed and dried. I come in and he tells me no extra charge at all and that the padding was only $20. That was the least I could cover! Seriously, I've had an awesome experience with Specialty Body Works and I will 100% continue to go there whenever I need repairs done that a mechanic can't handle, i.e. bodywork! read more

Great job and great service! I came in to Fix Auto @ Costa Mesa to get some scuffs removed from the rear bumper of my car that was damaged by a malfunctioning exit gate. The gate hit the rear right part of the bumper and caused a 1ft x 1ft scratch. Arrrgh! Since I had that same bumper replaced a year earlier at Fix Auto, they polished the scuffs free of charge. Lindsey at the front desk was very polite and offered comforting words when I went in. The mechanic Nick did a great job - in just 15 minutes the rear bumper was polished to perfection without damaging the clear coat. Being the son of a father who's owned multiple businesses my entire life, I greatly understand the importance of leaving honest and accurate reviews here on Yelp. So when an incident profound enough occurs (like the experience I recently had at FIX AUTO) I try to be as unbiased and as accurate as possible. Here's my experience with FIX Auto and why I feel they are deserving of one out of five stars! : So I found FIX Auto in Costa Mesa (off Paularino) because they are directly affiliated with State Farm Auto Insurance who is my insurance provider. State Farm has what I believe is called "select service" Auto body shops that they recommend and endorse. By using these recommended and affiliated auto body shops, State Farm claims the repairs process is more streamlined, quicker, more reliable yada yada yada you get the idea. My fault for taking their word on the validity of their claims in the first place, but this is where my mistakes end and FIX AUTOS begin! Strike ONE: Poor workmanship: So my deductible on my vehicle is an even grand that I'm waiting to be reimbursed from the at fault party. Damages for my front bumper which was smashed in comes out to a surprisingly lower than expected price of $861.44 which was lower than my $1K deductible. This right here should've raised my eyebrow considering I've had to have a repair similar to this, on this exact same vehicle in the past, that amounted to well over $1000. Lo and behold when I receive the vehicle back upon completion, The damages are STILL VISIBLE to the point where my 60+year-old mother who can barely see without corrective lenses (she was Not wearing them lol) instantly notices the shoddy workmanship and lack of care and effort given to my vehicle. Strike Two: Excuses Excuses: Needless to say my bad ass mom instantly demanded that they repair this.. well.. repair... and hop to it to see that this amateurish body work get done appropriately, and in a timely matter since my loaner car has already been returned and now I'm on my own dime and my own time. No real apology, no legitimate explanation given as to what the heck happened except for some lame excuse that the repair man "must not have gone deep enough to not show the spider cracking and spider webbing in my paint". Now I don't know about you, but if I or anyone else normal has ever seen spider cracked paint on a newly fixed and newly painted bumper one would instantly think that this was the worst damn job that they had ever seen in their life, and it WAS, because that person is ME, and that bumper is MINE! Strike THREE: No follow up, Not a care in the world! Like the introduction says, not a friggin care in the world was given about my car and it was pretty darn obvious! Who knows how long my car had been finished, but three days after I re-left the vehicle to be attempted to be fixed a 2nd time, I called at a quarter to 12 requesting some follow-up information on the progress of my vehicle. The disoriented lady on the phone said she would promptly return my call back in a few minutes and give me a status update. An hour flies by with no word or call back from the repair shop so I called them back Again at 12:45, the same lady answering the phone again with the tone in her voice signaling as if she had forgotten about me entirely saying that she would go and find out about my vehicle status right that moment and asking if I could hold. Wonderful I'm thinking, they must be near completion! She gets back on the phone with me and lets me know that it's been finished!! Now I don't know about you, but if I owned a body shop, I would want that car out of my space so that I could collect some money and start a new repair job! Again no follow up, no communication in three days, just a bunch of hot air and baloney, and not many people I know like bologna sandwiches! Icing on the Cake: Upon checking out I already know what my bill is going to be because it had already been set and determined at a price of $861.44. The first thing the lady does is ask me for $1000 which is what my deductible is, to which I tell her the total is $861.44 which is below my deductible so that is what you need to charge me. She proceeds to apologize to me and says that there was an error on the cover sheet and/or bill and proceeds to charge me the correct amount whilst asking me for all tens on the survey I'm going to be receiving. Dumbfounded, I drive my unwashed car off the lot, thankful to never have to do business with these knuckleheads ever again. I'm hoping that corporate or someone higher up will read this and realize that someone isn't doing their job correctly. I'm also hoping that someone who is looking for a legitimate Quality auto body repair shop will Turn Elsewhere in there hunt for a solid and communicative shop! To sum everything up, Fix Auto didn't fix a damn thing. Take your business elsewhere people! I'll put my hand on a Bible and swear by everything I'm saying because it's all true! read more

I was referred to Fix Auto by AAA after a fender bender. I also had them repair a non-insurance dent. The work was done very quickly and I got the vehicle back within a week. They had great communication keeping informed of the status. The vehicle was fixed perfectly with no hints of previous damages. I would have given them a 5-Star if it wasn't I found they scratched my window tint during the service but did not tell me. I saw that a couple days later and they promptly sent me to a tint shop to have that tint replace on their dime. Today I noticed two of my special logo tire valve caps were replaced with an ordinary black and a gray plastic cap. Granted 4 caps costed me only $8.99 (eBay), it is irritating that they did not replace the original cap after they serviced the wheels. read more

I recently visited Fix Auto to repair damage to my CL 500 Mercedes Benz. I was initially against using anyone except for Fletcher Jones, but they no longer provide this service. My insurance company suggested Fix Auto which in my mind meant, lesser and inexpensive comparatively which would produce a lesser finished project. When I went to get the estimate, Jorge Vivanco was my point of contact. Really great guy, super professional and truly made me feel at ease that I was in good hands. I received my estimate and I decided to move forward. All along the way, Jorge was super communicative and gave me a 5 day timeframe to complete the work. He told me he would do his best and will try to complete it in 2 days. Shockingly they completed it in 2 days which is insane. Fletcher Jones body shop was always lengthy and took weeks not days. When I picked up the car, it was immaculate inside and out and you couldn't see where the damage was which covered my door, the door behind me and part of the bumper. I bottomed out going over a speed bump and needed the plastic undercarriage of my car popped back into place. I called to make an appointment and the staff was friendly enough to give me the least busy time window to bring my car in that same day to get looked at. James, the general manager, greeted me and walked outside to check out my car and within ten minutes of arriving, my car was fixed and I was driving off the lot. This cost me a grand total of.....$10! It was the most hassle-free visit to an auto body shop I've ever encountered and would return for more serious auto body work as well.
