A1 really lives up to the name -- and Don is the reason why…read more I hired Don, the owner of A1, to help with a long list of upgrades, repairs, and installations throughout an older home, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. What began as a detailed work list quickly became a full-home improvement effort covering almost every area of the house: bedrooms, closets, kitchen, exterior work, fixtures, faucets, appliance installations, plumbing, toilets, concrete repair, masonry, and more. Don worked on the property for over a week, and every day we coordinated schedules to make the best use of the time available. I also gave him the green light to identify and address anything beyond the original list that could affect the home inspection. That turned out to be extremely valuable. Don identified several electrical and plumbing issues that needed to be upgraded to comply with code, explained them clearly, and we added them to the scope of work. One of the things I appreciated most was Don's ability to solve problems creatively. Older homes always come with surprises, and on several occasions, we had to figure out alternative ways to get things done. Don never approached those challenges with frustration. He thinks outside the box, looks for practical solutions, and clearly takes pride in helping people fix real problems. He also brings a level of experience that is rare to find. Don shared with me his impressive background as a station builder for major national oil companies, and you can tell that experience shows in the way he approaches work: organized, capable, practical, and professional. What makes him even more unique is that he now focuses on smaller projects because he enjoys getting to know people and helping them one project at a time. Don is also fair and reasonable with his pricing. He gave me thoughtful advice on which repairs would provide the best return on investment for the house, which helped me make smarter decisions instead of just spending money everywhere. Bottom line: Don is a great person, a great professional, and a friendly, trustworthy contractor. He loves what he does, he knows what he is doing, and he genuinely wants to help. I would absolutely recommend A1 to anyone looking for quality work, smart problem-solving, and someone who treats your home like it matters.

After two trips to Home Depot to get the tool needed to remove the old faucets, I realized these were not as easy as youtube led me to believe. I reached out to various plumbers as well as other construction and home repair companies and the results were pretty bad. Even with explanations and pictures I was told that it was $99 just for an estimate and up to $300 for each Faucet! Now not all of the companies replied this way but it was pretty astounding to me the cost. I then decided why not try a handyman and it turned out to be the best decision I could have made. I contacted a few and All Set Handyman Repair and Installation responded right away. I sent photo's and was actually provided an estimate almost immediately, once I supplied some photos, where most plumbers I called wanted to "SEE" the bathroom. I then Scheduled an appointment and Jason showed up right on time. He was professional and courteous and verified the price once he made eyes on the sinks. He went to work and finished the job including clean up of the work area in no time. There were no additional "hidden charges" and we even discussed some future projects I need some help with. Overall it was the best call I made that week I would highly recommend All set Handyman for any project from sinks to ceiling fans and whatever else you need.

TOTALLY INCOMPETENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Saturday: Called…read morefor repair of Hot water heater. Chad arrived and told me I needed a new heater. We agreed on a price. Chad told me that he would guarantee his work. He installed it. He left, I had no hot water.  Sunday: He returned and wanted Me to go to Home Depot as he had to run out and see about another job. He texted me a photo of what I needed. (See photos) I was informed by the man at Home Depot that this wasn't even the correct part, voltage was too low. At this point, I wasn't confident in him added with my observance of him getting shocked while using a voltage meter on the heater. I remembered, at this point, that he didn't have or use a meter on Saturday! After going to two different Home Depots and spending $41.30 I returned home. Chad arrived back and installed the two elements and when finished texted me from his truck, in my driveway (I was in the house). It was at this point that he informed me that he was charging me $100. He apologized, admitting that he should have informed me before he did the work. He then pleaded with me to apply him saying he had no gas in his truck. He said that if the heater didn't work, he would swap the heater out for free. I felt bad for him and gave him my last $60. I informed him that this was all the cash I had on me. Again, I had no hot water. Texted and called him several times throughout the morning and afternoon with no response. Chad finally responded stating that he was sick. He asked if I "called that guy at Home Depot, like he told me to? Had no idea what that meant. I then asked when he could come back. He responded again, that he was sick and for me to let him get his head together. He texted back saying "I'm going to take care of you". I sent Chad a text saying that I needed him to come back and replace the heater.  Tuesday: I went to Home Depot and picked up another water heater. By mid day I still didn't hear from Chad so, I called a company to come out. The licensed plumber from the established company of 35yrs informed me I had a leak under the house. THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH EITHER HOT WATER HEATER!!!!
