Reggie arrived when he said he would and he was very nice. On the phone I explained the issue with roller shade and he assured me he had parts (mechanism is not complicated as it is either chain or tension clamps that hold shade up). He arrived, took one look said he could not fix and charged me $20 for less than 5 minutes. Ask questions to make sure he actually has parts to fix, ask what he can't fix, and make sure you know about any service fee for just driving to your home. read more

I called Reggie during the holidays not expecting to hear back until after the new year. Reggie called me back within 10 minutes of my leaving him a voicemail. He let me know he was on his way out of town for vacation, but would come by that day. Wow! Reggie was so nice, helpful, and honest. He could have charged me to repair a blind, but instead referred me to Home Depot, saying he could repair it but I could get a brand new one cheaper. He even helped me load the blind into my car! His work is timely, but he makes sure all is in working order before he leaves your home. He replaced my traverse rod carriers in a jiffy and even taught us how to do it. We ordered our blinds from Blinds.com and ran into difficulty hanging the 8 footers. We struggled for 2 hours until we gave up and called around for an installer to help. Reggie was the only one who got back to us. He asked us to send him pictures of the blinds and hardware. Reggie is our kind of guy! I yelped for window blind repair after my husband took ours apart and figured out the part we needed to fix it but didn't have any idea how to find the part. He was researching new blinds, but I found Reggie, who sold us the exact part that we needed for my husband to do the job! He even offered to swing by the house with it on his way out of town when he found out where we lived. So we got the repair done for a fraction of the cost of new blinds or even a repair. 7/17/2019 Jim L. I own 2 rental properties on the Monterey Peninsula and contacted Reggie Cortez to repair screens and a vertical blind at one of my properties during a tenant changeover in February. To give Reggie his due, he did complete window and patio door screen replacement in an efficient and timely fashion. However, the reason for my low rating has to due with his poor performance on a vertical blind repair. The blind was "stuck" and would not open or close. Reggie quoted a price of $150 which I accepted. He worked on it the first day with the result that the blind would open and close but only with extreme pressure being applied. When I brought this to his attention, he said he would return to fix it. With his assurance and his helpful demeanor and because the blind operation was marginally improved, I paid him in full. He did return, worked on the blind awhile and said he would need a tool which he did not have with him. Again he said he would return. However, I live 200 miles from my rentals, and I spent the next 3 months texting and phoning Reggie to get him to finish the repair. He would tell me he would be contacting my tenant and/or he had completed the repair but they reported he never showed. Then his story changed; he had repaired the blind but it was broken again. He said if I would pay to replace the damaged part he would install it without any additional charge. It was now the middle of June, 3 months past the time repair of the blind had been initiated and supposedly repaired, I was out $150, was told I had additional cost to absorb. Basically I was tired of Reggie's B.S and I know longer trusted him to complete the job. I told him I wanted a return of half of the money I had paid. He accused me of "threatening him" when I said I would be posting a review of his job performance. He did however, agree to pay me my $75 and with that agreement, I set a date on June 19th when I was next in town, to meet with him at one of my rentals to receive his payment. Reggie did show on the appointed time. However, he demanded to see my driver's license and told me that I would need to sign a release saying that the work had been concluded satisfactorily; that this matter would be "handled his way". It was at this point that I demanded he leave my house immediately. Not more than an hour later, and in subsequent texts received through July 9th, Reggie said he still wanted to resolve the matter but insisted that I "meet him at his shop" which after his words and actions on June 19th, I would never do. As noted in other more favorable reviews, Reggie comes across as friendly and personable and as I have noted, he does have some competency in screen replacement. However, as noted in the other negative reviews, if he runs into problems, he becomes unreliable and unresponsive and his personality and demeanor completely different than that he initially shows. Unfortunate, Reggie has become completely unreliable. At first he seemed nice and told us that our blind repair was a 'a quick and easy fix that he could take care of in no time.' It is now SIX months, and EIGHT visits later, I have two more blinds broken than I started with, and he's disappeared. In between, he was either late or didn't show for almost every appointment, broke two more blinds ('I'll just take this apart to see how these work'), ordered the wrong parts twice, then ordered the wrong size parts (and damaged the wall, trying to put them in), then ordered the wrong number of parts, then broke the replacement parts-twice-trying to put them in. He also, on more than one occasion said the blinds were repaired when they weren't, and asked to be paid in full, which we did. He then promised (again) to call when the parts came in again, and disappeared. We tracked him down a month later, he said he had the parts and promised to come. The morning of the appointment he kept saying he was running a little late, then, two and a half hours later when he'd said he was (finally) on his way, we got a text saying he'd taken another call instead! Haven't heard from him in the four weeks since. We're out several hundred dollars, a lot of time (he was usually hours late, or didn't show at all), still have two broken, unusable shades (only one of which was broken before Reggie came) and now he's not returning calls. Can NOT recommend. read more

I usually fix almost everything around the house, but after looking at several YouTube videos on how to fix Hunter Douglas Duette shades I decided this looked a little more challenging than I wanted to spend time on. I called Reggie and he was here within the hour, he looked at what needed to be done and gave me a price. I am so glad I decided not to try this myself- YouTube definitely didn't cover some of the "tricks" that someone with Reggie's skill & experience knows all about. This single shade repair would have probably taken me at least a full day to do after a lot of "trial and error" and even then I'm not sure I could have done it. I absolutely give Reggie my highest recommendation- he's very skilled, has all the parts on hand, gives a very fair price, and will even walk you through exactly how to fix the shade. Our venetian blinds were broken after I tried to fix them. Reggie came right over and took one look at them and said because the 3 draw strings were all interconnected, it would be cheaper just to buy new ones rather than pay to have him repair them. He didn't charge us for coming over but we provided gas money. He's very personable and I plan to have him come over for other fix-it tasks as they come up. read more
