If you have a manual transmission, I strongly recommend taking your car somewhere else…read more I paid over $2,000 for a clutch replacement, and instead of fixing my car, I ended up with a whole new list of problems. First, the repair took about a week. I understand this was a couple of weeks before Christmas (last year), and shops can be short staffed or dealing with employees being out sick. What I don't understand is why I had to call every single day just to get an update. Communication throughout the entire process was almost nonexistent. The day I picked up my car, I noticed a strong burning oil smell just before I got home. I immediately turned around and drove back to the shop, where they discovered they had forgotten to reinstall a transmission seal. As a result, transmission fluid had leaked all over my exhaust. When I got home, I checked the transmission fluid myself and found it was nearly empty. Running a manual transmission that low on fluid can cause serious and potentially permanent damage. I took the car to another shop to have the fluid topped off, and they also discovered that Eagle Transmission had forgotten to reinstall one of the exhaust bolts that had been removed during the clutch job. Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there... I began experiencing hydraulic issues with the clutch and returned to speak with the owner, Scott. I explained my concerns, including the fact that the transmission had never been properly refilled after they corrected the leak. Rather than addressing the workmanship, Scott's response was, "Your transmission is a piece of sh*t. It has spray paint on it, which means it's from a junkyard. You need a transmission rebuild, and that'll cost you another $2,000." If that were true, and my transmission was in such poor condition, you would think they would have mentioned it before installing the new clutch instead of after I returned with problems. To make matters even more concerning, Scott didn't even know where the transmission dipstick was while we were discussing the fluid level. I was so frustrated and insulted, I had to walk out. After receiving advice with another Eagle Transmission location in Cedar Park and doing some research, I returned a few days later and simply asked Scott if they could bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Even after our debate I offered to pay for the service, but he flat out refused. I'm a very patient individual and rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with an automotive repair shop. Between the lack of communication, careless workmanship, missing hardware, a transmission left nearly empty of fluid, and the way my concerns were completely dismissed, I cannot recommend this location to anyone... especially if you own a manual transmission vehicle. I hope sharing my experience helps someone else avoid the frustration, wasted time, and unnecessary expense that I went through.

Eagle was aware that it should have arrived, and the shop owner took the initiative to call me to check on the status before closing shop. Thankfully Eagle has a key drop, so the tow arriving after hours was fine. They must have looked my car over immediately the next day, because diagnostics were done quickly and I got a call early that morning. They kept me in the loop about the repair, explained what they were doing and why, answered the phone consistently to answer follow up questions I had, and went even more into detail about the repair when I arrived and asked additional questions about the mechanics of it. Just like a doctor who answers your questions, a mechanic who does the same helps put you at ease. It wasn't cheap (& what transmission work is?), but it was incredibly fast and I had my car back and repaired the same day diagnostics were run. Plus, the parts & labor came with a 1-year/12,000 mile warranty.

I brought my 2011 Ranger in, they were able to diagnose a substantial fluid leak and gave a very reasonable estimate. Not the "you need a new transmission" estimate that I was expecting. While I didn't have a code yet, I suspected that it was a possibility. Anyway, Aplus took the time to do a full 22 point inspection and test drive. They actually got a code. Their solution was to 1) do a fluid change but cautioned it could make things worse and likely would not fix the issue. 2) offered a $595 break down to tear transmission down to give an estimate. And if I didn't like that estimate they would put it all back together. Considering this truck has 170k miles and is a 2004, i was hesitant spending that $. I worked with Jackson to get a high level estimate. He was confident it could be rebuilt for $3200 or below and worked a deal to honor that price. Anyway, they ended up giving me a bit of a discount to meet that price for the rebuild. Time will tell one the transmission, but I suspect it will outlive the engine. Only time will tell. It does come with a warranty but I don't drive that truck a lot so we shall see. Communication was great. And so far, works seems legit. Did I make a smart decision to spend that kind of money on an old truck? Probably not, but decide that path because I bought it new.

That was Roberto from Sponges today. I had hired Sponges because I'm selling two cars immediately. I needed both of them to look showroom-ready for online sale "beauty" photos. Roberto showed up this morning exactly when promised... on Memorial Day... and worked for seven straight hours. Near the end, one of the car batteries drained because the doors had been open for hours during detailing. The detailing itself was top shelf - more than five stars - but what really stayed with me was Roberto's attitude: always a big, reassuring smile on his face, coupled with hard work, professionalism and the kindness of a righteous human being. Getting off my soapbox just to add that booking and paying for the service was easy and took a handful of minutes. Thank you, Richard!

The price however should be adjusted accordingly depending if the vehicle is too dirty or not. In my case the car is kept in the garage 90% of the time and has a full cover on it all the time and it never gets dirty so $95 for a clean car that essentially just needed a quick wash seems a bit overpriced. But I definitely recommend them as you won't regret the results! I would do business in the future!
