I was ignorant that the transmission was a CVT and more expensive/rare than conventional. Chuck was very sympathetic and gave me multiple options from fixing to replacing it with a new or rebuilt one. His communication was excellent and he gave me pricing and pros and cons of each option. I opted for the having him rebuild it and got lucky because my trans wasn't shredded and they were able to find and replace the bad bearing. Whew Fast forward two months and my wife's car broke down in a small town a couple hours away. I called Richfield Transmission and they were able to instruct me how to drive the car back with minimal damage. I'm bringing the car in this morning, RT has earned my trust. A word about the bad reviews: I own a highly rated small biz myself and have received a couple bad reviews from people who were never my customers and a couple who didn't listen to the advice I gave them. It's telling that Chuck has taken the time to write polite responses to those errant reviews.

I needed a transmission service last month so with the past good experiment I came to this place, again. My car stayed there all day and then they told me that I did need a transmission service. The front desk person told me that, they can rebuild the transmission with the cost of $ 4100. I asked him if they can find an used transmission and then install it. He told me ,sorry there isn't any used transmission they can find. I asked him, if I find a used one and they can install; he said they don't do that.7 So, his goal was to rebuild the transmission and charge me $ 4100 +. I didn't follow his advice and left. Then, I found a used transmission in Wisconsin online, bought it and delivered it for $ 800. I went to my mechanic garage, they did a fantastic job and replaced the transmission. It was $ 1500 total, part+labor. I saved lots of money and my car is running perfectly on the road. I will never go for any service to Transmission Service store again. Instead of doing the work I asked for, they convinced me to let them replace all the brakes, even though they themselves had done the other side just seven months ago. The pricing was already higher than expected, but what really pushed it over the edge was the added 3% credit card fee. When I questioned it, I was told it was a fee from the credit card company. That is simply not true. It is a fee they chose to pass on. Be honest about it. Customers can handle the truth. We do not appreciate being misled. On top of that, the attitude was dismissive and disrespectful. If you are going to charge premium prices, at least treat people like they matter. He said that he had experience with Prius' and told me to bring it in. Wuensch ended up fixing my coolant and engine battery. I needed a hybrid battery as well. Tim knew that I was not able to afford a new $3000 hybrid battery so he researched and found a man in town who is well known for refurbishing Prius batteries and installing them for CHEAP. Tim contacted the guy and provided me with the number. While my car was at Wuensch, he also let me use the shop's "loaner" vehicle. Let me say, I am not the greatest client as I freaked out a couple of times on him and the mechanics. However, they remained so calm and reassured me that they would get my car back into top shape. Tim also called me a week later to follow-up on how things were going. My car is running top shape again and I will definitely return to Wuensch. I have an older truck, the owner told…read moreme that they are VERY familiar with my vehicle and that it would take somewhere from a half to a full day to replace my exhaust system from the manifold to tailpipe... I set an appointment, I called the day before the appointment to confirm. When I arrived on the day of my appointment, some other guy tells me that the owner is out of town and that this guy is feeling sick so maybe come back tomorrow and he can get it done. I did. He did not work on it the first day other than to cut off the old system I had on the truck, making it VERY loud. Now I can't/don't want to drive it as-is, so I can't just pull out of the deal and find a competent exhaust shop.. I'm feeling kinda stuck. These guys had my truck for 10 days... It sounded great, but they charged more than we agreed to initially, I paid the man and thought, OK lesson learned... on the way home something sprung loose and the truck was loud as hell... I turned around and brought it back to them, they explain that they have used a manifold from a different vintage - meaning that they need to block a few small holes that I apparently don't need and one of the "plugs" came loose and fell out - I'm thinking "what the hell" I paid for stock replacement... not "whatever parts you have laying around" replacement.... they plug it up again and I leave. I asked my regular mechanic to survey the work done... when he was finished laughing at the horrible craftsmanship, he explained to me that on one side of my engine they used a manifold that blocks my oil dip stick - now I can't get the stick out to check oil and on the other side of my engine they have used a manifold that causes the exhaust to take a 90 degree turn before flowing through the exhaust pipe towards the muffler, etc.... so in other words, they used two different exhaust manifolds on my truck - one blocks my ability to check the oil and the other is working for now, but very likely will not be working well for long. The owner refuses to speak with me, or refund me, or fix the issue. He blames "the guy" who did the work... tells me to speak with him. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!!!!!!!!
