He was very professional and did a great job. I'm very happy. I have nothing to complain about. Payment was easy. Once the contractor left the company sent me info on how to pay, I chose Zelle. After vetting several technicians on Thumbtack for mounting two flatscreens, I chose Fixtman based on their 1,900+ five-star reviews. The experience was disastrous from start to finish. Despite the job requiring two technicians, only one was sent. While he was friendly, he mounted the flatscreens crooked and off-center, left exposed wiring, and departed before completing the work--something I didn't notice until after he left. My attempts to resolve the situation with Fixtman were frustrating. I was passed between multiple "quality service representatives," faced overbilling attempts, and despite promises to send another professional, they stopped responding. The situation worsened when the technician obtained my personal number and harassed me for payment, threatening to visit until I paid. I sent him $200 to end the harassment. Thumbtack later reimbursed me, and when Fixtman eventually reached out about sending another technician, I declined further service. After closely examining reviews on Thumbtack, google and other platforms, I discovered this was a pattern with Fixtman and their technicians. Lesson learned: regardless of the number of positive reviews, always scrutinize negative and recent feedback! read more

Due to my back issues, I had to pay a handyman $90 to hang a curtain which is the minimum for one hour of their time. The company normally charges $50 for curtain + rod installation, and I already had the rod installed!! They simply had to put the curtain on the rod. Obviously that was done in 5mins. Then, we asked the worker to stick a simple privacy screen on a window that could have been done easily in the remaining time with more time to spare. But he refused and said it will take a long time! I have installed privacy screens before-it takes minutes. While installing the curtains, He also climbed on my bed instead of moving it or using shoe covers, making the experience of poor value and disappointing. Do NOT book them. I hired FixTman to dismount and relocate an 85" Samsung TV. During the appointment, the technician they dispatched caused irreparable damage to the screen. He admitted fault in writing. I notified FixTman immediately. Despite controlling the scheduling, payment, and branding of the service, they claimed they weren't liable because the technician was an "independent contractor." Under California law--including the Dynamex decision and AB5--this defense is invalid when the company exerts control over the service. FixTman also advertises a 30-day warranty, which they initially ignored. Only after escalating the matter did they offer a replacement--on the condition that I delete my negative reviews. I was pressured into removing them from Google, Yelp, and the BBB. In California, demanding removal of reviews in exchange for service violates Civil Code § 1670.8. When the replacement arrived, it was not packaged in a sealed box, had no remote, no manual, and appeared used. I recorded the entire delivery. Since then, I've repeatedly asked for a receipt or order information to confirm it was a new, equivalent model. They've gone silent and refused to provide it. This company uses coercive, deceptive tactics to silence legitimate complaints while avoiding legal and financial responsibility. Their resolution was inadequate and likely a cover to avoid a formal paper trail. Desired Resolution: I am requesting full reimbursement of $3,000 for the original television, or verifiable proof of purchase for a new, equivalent replacement model. If FixTman cannot provide this, I will pursue small claims action and file complaints with the Contractors State License Board and California Department of Consumer Affairs. read more

I hired them to install a wall mount microwave. ***I am completely dissatisfied with the "installation"*** * The handyman was a whole hour earlier than the scheduled time. Communication was bad throughout. The guy was in a big hurry and wasn't properly listening to me. * I asked him if he can install the appliance the same way the earlier one was installed. But the request was ignored, a hole was drilled in my cabinets and I was left with a dangling power cord that isn't connected anywhere and I can't close my cabinet. * On top of that, I had to help the guy with lifting the heavy appliance; like why am I even paying you then? Also, my kitchen was left completely messy with screws and bolts and wood chips lying around everywhere. This was an absolute shit job. UPDATE: Support contacted me and offered to fix the situation and give me a 15% refund if I can take down the negative review. After a lot of back and forth they didn't fix the situation. I paid good money for a service and did NOT get what I wanted. Stay away from this shoddy scam of a company - the reviews aren't trustworthy. read more

I would rate the TV mount install service a 1 out of 5. Technician was in too much of a hurry, left mess of boxes and hardware everywhere and did a very quick and shabby job. Not too happy. I hope they refund people their money. There is nothing that can be fixed right now. The job was shabby, too many unnecessary holes drilled in the wall, damage to the drywall during installation, boxes and other hardware was literally thrown all over and left in shabby and unclean manner. Same with boxes. Plus he was throwing stuff on the floor during unpacking, almost felt like he didn't want to be there. He installed two screws initially to the mount, and I had to ask him to install more for safety purposes. And then he left quickly without fully asking if the job had been done. Looks like he didn't want to be there, or maybe he was in too much of a hurry to go to his next job. read more

Reza installed our Midea U-shaped air conditioner and appears to have done a great job. I'm not sure he followed the User Manual as requested, since he just got to work as if he had done it before. The only bump was that FixTman sent me a message not to pay the installer AND Thumbtack, which I used to find FixTman said they would pay FixTman. Yet, the installer refused to leave without my paying the invoice. Confusing at best, very annoying at worst. I had to pay 3.09% service fee to use my credit card. I was not happy with this. My experience started off with a delightful conversation with Veronica who gave me useful information to see how FixTman ranked against the other pros on Thumbtack. This was also at 1am. I was given a honest and fair price and was told a rough step by step process of what would happen. I was informed that the employees follow Covid 19 proto calls and are vaccinated (not that I cared by some people do). I was also given pictures of previous installs. They were even able lucky for me to fit me in same day. I received an appointment reminder and sent a contract to sign with a firm price. Later in the day I received a reminder of the appointment and Mehrdad (tech) sent a message and kept communication about the time he would arrive. He arrived and took very careful care of our television. He was following all Covid 19 protocols when he arrived. In the contract it said I would need to help him move the television because of the side. The over all install took less then an hour and then we placed it on the mount were he secured it. After it was mounted he tested the television for functionality and everything was great. If you have small babies or pets I recommend they go to another room while the the bolt is screwed into the wall as it is loud. After Mehrdad finished I paid the invoice that had been sent in a text and all was great. Mehrdad was courteous and professional throughout the encounter. The office followed up after the install to make sure everything went awesome. All tips go directly to installer. Thanks for an awesome experience FixTman. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Some may have had good experiences with this company, but it is a huge roll of the dice. They don't use the same people for every job. You may get a good person, you may not. It is way better for the types of jobs that this company services to use a sole proprietor with good reviews so you get a guaranteed good outcome and service. The person who helped me was rude and ended up charging more to finish the job than I was quoted. When I pointed out to him that he was charging me for what I already paid for, rather than talk it out, get a supervisor on the phone or be decent about it, he said, "you pay or I leave and don't mount your tv." I wanted to get the job done so I paid them the extra amount. They did a poor job and couldn't even deliver on what I asked for. They couldn't figure out how to mount the sound bar I told them I wanted mounted. They didn't bring the right tools or something. (I have since figured it out. Shows they are incompetent if I can figure it out.) To top it all off, they left a mess and did not clean up after themselves. They were clearly in a rush, looking to move on. I looked back on what I was quoted and they should not have charged me because of what we had previously agreed to and what I was charged for. So I paid an extra $60 than originally quoted. When I brought my issues to the attention of the company they said. "Oh. So sorry. How about $50 credit towards future jobs with us?" Yeah right!!! Use them again. No way. They then offered a $50 refund. I asked if that was the most, made a reasonable offer, and they said that was the max. So let me get this straight I end up with a loss of $10 AFTER a refund. Get out of here. You are risking a bad experience. And if you are treated poorly then management will not make it right. Go elsewhere. There are plenty of options. read more
