Food was amazing. The server Grace needs a raise she was so nice. Desert was so good and the restaurant was so nice.

I have been visiting Oak Island/Southport for many years, so I'm always excited when someone recommends a restaurant I haven't yet experienced. My friends told me they had a wonderful experience at Fizzy Jane's so my husband and I decided to check it out for a date night during our annual family beach trip. I'll be honest the exterior is not much to look out. While located right by docks and boats, the building itself looks pretty residential and is lacking signage. However, what a transformation once you walk inside. Lots of fun wall paper, neon signs, greenery, painted murals, and more to give trendy Instagram photo worthy vibes. It is a large place with lots of seating, including a separate private room for a larger party gathering. Lots of great cocktails to choose from. My husband got a paper plane (one of his favorites) and I tried the strawberry basil sour. They did not skimp on the alcohol as it was quite strong. I very much enjoyed the boozy fruit at the end. The menu is on the smaller side with only 5-6 options for appetizers and entrees, but they also do a handful of weekly specials. While a smaller list, honestly all of the appetizers and entrees listed sounded delicious. After much discussion, we settled on getting two appetizers, a salad, and one entree to share. The waitress happily said she would space the items out for us and decide which order was best for a progressive meal, I appreciated that! Overall she provided fantastic service all night. The Crispy Tuna (raw poke tuna over crispy rice with kimchi aioli, sesame seeds, jalapeños, and green onion) was a must order according to our friends who recommended the place. They did not steer us wrong! It was a great bite, the crunch from the rice, the soft fresh tuna, little heat from the jalapeños, creaminess from the aioli, and I added a little soy sauce on top for some salt. Yum! I was glad it came 4 to an order so I got to have two! Next to arrive was the Wedge Salad (iceberg, bacon, tomato, crispy onion, blue cheese crumbles, blue cheese salad dressing). Nothing unique here as it was the traditional preparation. You did get a lot of crispy onions which I liked for texture. They also did not skimp on the crumbles. You can add protein to their salads if you want for extra. In my opinion, the salad was overdressed, so a little bit of the crunch from the lettuce was lost. Honestly this is probably my only small gripe of anything I was served at this meal. My favorite dish of the night was the Duck Wings (fried wings with sweet and spicy gochujang sauce). You get 7 wings, all drums, to an order. The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat still tender. The gochujang sauce was divine. Perfect sweet and spicy balance. You will be licking your fingers as you want to enjoy every drop. We found ourselves eating the shredded lettuce/cabbage underneath the wings as why not it was dressed in the sauce. Duck is very similar in taste to chicken. If you like wings, you must order these! Final item of the night was our entree selection- the Shrimp & Grits (grilled shrimp and fish over grits topped with gravy, green onions, and hot sauce served with toasts). The catch of the day was red drum which is a nice white flaky fish. It went great in this dish. The shrimp were a nice size and the seasoning on the proteins was lovely. The grits were super creamy due to the gravy. I liked the extra kick of the hot sauce on top. The toast was buttery and crispy so the perfect vessel to sop up the grits. It's a heavier but satisfying dish, so I'm glad we split it. This amazing meal left us with no room for dessert. I am not gonna lie I went to bed early and slept hard that night as the food was that good. If you are coming to Southport, venture off the main drag a little and come to Fizzy Jane's. I will be back. They also do brunch, which I am excited to try as well next time I visit the island! read more

Went to check out fizzy Jane's with the wife for date night while we were in Oak Island. What a great spot! Awesome cocktails! Awesome food! Awesome service. For cocktails I got the paper plane which is which is a classic favorite of mine. My wife got the strawberry basil. For food, we started with the crispy tuna on the recommendation of a good friend. This was this delicious. Crispy rice topped with tuna and a kimchi salad served with a little bit of soy sauce, sriracha, and wasabi. Absolutely amazing app. We also got the duck wings with the gochujang sauce. This was actually better than the tuna. Not sure how but this was one of the tastiest things I've had in a long time. Crispy skin, delicious meat, amazing sauce. We also got the shrimp and grits which also came with some red drum. Grits were soft and perfect. The sauce that accompanied it was savory and delicious. The shrimp were plump. The red drum was tasty, served some toasted bread to sop up the sauce. Really can't wait to come back to Fizzy Jane's next time I'm in Oak Island. read more

Fizzy Jane's is the perfect spot to host a private party in Southport. The space can easily hold 100 people, there's ample parking, and the hardworking staff will ensure everything goes smoothly. The food is a cut above the usual buffet fare, and they can accommodate allergies with aplomb. Our holiday party group enjoyed crab dip appetizers (with GF crackers provided along with the crispy wontons) and a wonderful dinner of fresh apple salad, roasted carrots, honey shrimp, steak and mashed potatoes. My friends and I went to Fizzy Jane's two Sundays ago. We had an 11:00 a.m. reservation but arrived a little early, around 10:30. The hostess seated us right away, which was nice. However, when our waitress came over, she mentioned she needed to serve another table first since they had a 10:30 reservation. I felt that comment wasn't really necessary--she could have just politely let us know she'd be with us shortly. The space itself is really cute inside, though it was a bit on the chilly side during our visit. Overall, the food was good and seasoned well. read more

We had a part of 6 and arrived 10 minutes early to our 6:45pm reservation but were seating immediately. Waitress didn't come over to our table for about 10 minutes (totally fine we were early) but the then all ordered alcoholic drinks that took 30 minutes to get to us. Appetizers were delicious and gave us high hopes for our main course but all were left disappointed and everything was just so so. Overall food was overpriced for the what we received and we hardly saw our waitress the entire time we were there. I'd also like to add that the restaurant was freezing and had cold air blowing on us the entire time and environment was very loud. After seeing all the positive reviews for Fizzy Jane's we knew we would have to give a shot and I am pleased to say it did not disappoint. The space is big and the decor very chic. The service is excellent and personable. Our server Brigid was great and Brian was fun to talk to about the food and its sourcing and preparation. Our Cocktails were very tasty and potent. For our mains we had the Scrab stuffed Mahi Mahi and the Seafood platter which comprised of Blackened Red Drum and Grilled Shrimp. Both dishes were Delicious. I love Red Drum filet, but the blackened seasoning kicked it up to a whole other level. The prices are what you would expect for this level of cuisine. We will definitely be back. read more

The duck wings and octopus apps were great, and my husband loved the short ribs. However, my experience with the main course was disappointing. I ordered crab-stuffed fish, which the waiter said would be Mahi, but I received salmon instead. The salmon was also cooked medium-rare, with some parts nearly raw. Since I'm pregnant, I had to send it back. The waiter acknowledged the mistake but brushed off my concern about the temperature, stating salmon can be cooked to various temperatures. I understand that, but as a pregnant woman, I prefer it well-cooked. There was no real attempt to make up for the mistake, and at that point, I didn't want to waste more time. Sit at the bar! Crazy, like a few restaurants here in town, require reservations at the bar. Unheard of anywhere else I've ever lived in the other 9 States I've lived. Don't understand it (or really appreciate it). Nonetheless, great kind of big city/Manhattan vibe in here. Some of their appetizers are quite good and prices are really fair. First visit. Upon walking in the A/C was blasting and felt about 65 degrees. Couple who walked in behind us said "it is freezing in here". We asked our server if she could turn the temp up a little. She said she had no control over it. A couple sat down next to us and asked their server if they sold sweatshirts since it was so cold. I eventually asked for a manager who said he would turn the temp up after he finished making some drinks. I had to go back to him 15 minutes later since nothing had been done and he said he forgot. He eventually did as I requested but by that time we were finished. The food and service were very good although pricey. Unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy the experience and rushed through our $150 dinner because it was so cold. read more

Celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary, we asked Chef Brian to select everything for our meal. He did not disappoint! We started with the Beet Box Salad, followed by Crispy Tuna appetizer (you had me at Aloha). For our entrees, Chef Brian served a Snapper filet over the most amazing grits, with Meyer lemon over the fish and crab gravy over the grits. Green beans added that pop of color and veggie goodness! Fizzy Janes is the most delightful restaurant in Southport or Oak Island. The food and drinks were so delicious, fresh and well put together. Everyone one I was with absolutely loved their meals. The decor is beautiful and such a clean place. We easily made reservations and had no issue getting in on a Saturday morning in the summer. Had lunch with family and friends on Saturday, 11/29/2025, and it was wonderful. I came into Leland/Wilmington for the holiday. Bryan was so helpful answering all of our questions and such a delight. The food was so delicious! We got the steak sandwich, quiche & salad, shrimp omelette and mushroom omelette. The hot sauce was a big hit as well! Thank you so much for a wonderful visit. My husband loved his orange juice. The seafood grits were covered in seafood, including four shrimp, three claims, and a nice size piece of fish. The grits were creamy, flavorful, and light. The seafood cooked perfectly. The breakfast plate included a smoked bacon, seasoned sausage, eggs, and seasoned potatoes. The potatoes could have been warmer. We came here for brunch on Saturday. The menu has some normal items with a twist. We started with some drinks. My daughter had a sugar cookie expresso martini. Then we shared a Brunch Board. We booked a reservation to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. The restaurant was quite busy and loud when we arrived a couple minutes early for our reservation for five at 7:30pm. The host informed us that they would clear our table and seat us shortly. We patiently waited, watching the table we were meant to occupy remain uncleared for another 30 minutes past our reservation time. Eventually, we sat without waters or a greeting for another 10 minutes. A bartender apologized and mentioned that someone would be over soon or else he would come over. When the waitress finally came, she apologized, took our order, and brought our drinks by 8:25 PM. The tables were a bit wobbly, and the room felt a little chilly, but they reassured us it was a service issue rather than a kitchen problem. When available, our server was very nice. On the bright side, the food was absolutely delicious, and we particularly enjoyed the fizzy Jane and the pancetta apple salad. The braised short rib was good but not as great as the other dishes. Our friends, dining at another table, experienced a longer wait for their food, about 45-60 minutes, and at the end when they asked about a comp, the restaurant didn't accommodate, which generally affects the server's tip which is a shame. Just to note, this all unfolded during the quieter late October season. We're definitely interested in coming back for another visit, as the food was fantastic but we hope for better service. A manager coming to the tables reassuring them or communicating any issues would have been better than avoidant and busy servers. Restaurant food was great for Southport but the ambiance and management could use some improvement. read more

10/10 recommend dining at this saucy brunch spot. The vibe, aesthetics, and overall visual appeal is inviting, warm and chic. Our large group of 6 was promptly seated and attended too by the most awesome waitress "T." She shared the specials, her favorite dishes and offered suggestions when asked. We all started with drinks ranging from beautiful bloody Mary's, mimosas, Prosecco, and the spiked coffee - everyone had seconds. We shared a waffle between the 6 of us which was amazing and then the table ordered the seafood and grits, the meat quiche, and the lobster roll with potatoes on the side. There was literally NO FOOD left it was all so incredibly tasty and filling. The portions were impressive, the food flavor and quality was phenomenal, and the service was top notch. Everything from start to finish - bathroom decor and all - was well thought out and made for the perfect brunch. What an awesome dining experience in such a great small town. Great meal! I would definitely visit again. I and a friend decided to try out Fizzy Jane's. They have been open only a month or so. The interior is airy with tables spaced wide apart. The decor, while nothing to write home about is pleasant enough. After perusing the menu, I ordered their Thai margarita - while a little spicy due to the big pieces or jalepeno peppers, it was overall very good. They also had a nice menu of drink specials as well as other drinks. We decided to share the roasted carrots. They came with a very nice thick red sauce to dip. They were delicious. I ended up ordering the appetizer steak which was plenty for me. It was wonderful and I would definitely order it again although there are many other items on the menu that I would like to try. My dining companion had the cheese board with an addition of charcuterie meats. She enjoyed it very much. We also had a dessert of ginger cheesecake, loved it! All in all, we were very impressed with our meal and both would love to return. read more

Outstanding food and service! Both the hubby and I were in town to see a local band and wanted to grab something to eat before the show. All the regular "go to" places were fully booked. We called this place and they said come on over. I'm so glad we did. We split the Caesar salad... croutons were legit! Salad was buttery and delicious! I had caramelized grouper with their garlic mashed potatoes and broccolini. The hubby had scallops. He said this place restored his faith that someone out there can make scallops the right way. The service was great. You could tell they work here because they like the energy and proud of what they're serving. We'll be back! read more
