Swung by this bakery for some desert with the family. They have a large selection of bakery goods like cakes, donuts, pastries etc. We were greeted by a young lady behind the counter and kind enough to explain what certain items were that we didn't recognize. We opted for a cinnamon roll, guva cheese, chocolate cake, almond donut and vanilla cake. They were pretty good worth the stop just wish the almond donut wasn't dry but besides that definitely was good. Next time we will try there hot food.

I usually pick up sandwiches to share with my parents for a late breakfast treat but today it was later in the day so we just had sweets. I picked up a slice of the almond cake and also a volcano cake which has a penguin look via an order cookie and frosting, it was so cute. The service was quick and friendly.

I came here early around 6:30 on a Thursday morning and was the only person there initially. Customer Service slowly started to filter in and I understood why I got a breakfast sandwich two pastries and a coffee and brought them to work. They traveled well and I was able to share everyone loved the food. I especially like the breakfast sandwich that was baking, egg, and cheese on Cuban bread it had no greasy feeling to it. The bacon was crisp. The eggs were fluffy and a cheese was light. The pastries were the perfect blend of sweetness and moist. Now for the coffee I don't know if it was a language barrier, but I asked for a café con Leche and was told that yes they could make it but what I end up getting was coffee with milk. I know that that's the literal translation, but that's not a café con Leche but what I got was basic normal brew coffee nothing to repeat or get again but everything else was good place was clean and a customer service was exceptional.

This place is located within a strip mall right on Semoran, just a bit south of University. Wonderful bakery with a great selection of Latin baked goods. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. They have hot food options as well and plenty of seating.

Wow, is my Spanish rusty. Don't let the receipt fool you... Only Spanish is spoken here. I've spent the last week using Duolingo to try to brush up, not specifically for this, but it was helpful nonetheless. I took Spanish both in high school and college, and for a while spoke well enough to get along, but that was many years ago, with little effort made to keep up the skill. This place is just a few minutes from my house, and I've been wanting to try it for months. I'm ashamed to admit that the first time I tried to come I chickened out and left because I wasn't confident in my Spanish. Today I was determined to make it work, communication barriers be damned. To their credit, either because they didn't speak English or didn't want to shame the obvious gringo, they made no attempt to speak English to me, but neither did they poke fun at my struggles. I kept it simple this time. Eggs, sausage, and toast, with a large coffee. The eggs were simple and plain, but the sausage was seasoned exceptionally well, and oh my God the bread ... . In short, I'll be back. And I have a new excuse to double down on my Spanish practice everyday. You should try it too, and if you need to, bring a Spanish speaking amigo. Also, apparently Robbie sounds like "Rabit" in gringo mumble.

I stopped by the restaurant/bakery for breakfast on Thursday, November 10, 2022. Considering they were operating as Hurricane Nicole was moving over the Orlando area, I applaud them for keeping their doors open when other establishments were shuttered. The overhead electronic menu boards did not indicate the restaurant offered breakfast sandwiches but, Yellis, a cashier, was very helpful in providing me a rundown of their breakfast offerings including the items in each of their sandwiches. I opted for a Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich on Sweet Bread and a Cafe Con Leche. The Sandwich was delicious and the choice of sweet instead of regular bread balanced the saltiness of the ham and was just the perfect combination. As to the Cafe Con Leche, I've had better iterations but, it may be I'm used to the Cuban style of the beverage. Next time I'll certainly try their selection of pastries as they were a definitely a feast for the eyes.

Sweets . . . so so many sweets.

For some people, fluency in Spanish may get them a job or even a romance, but for me clearly it will just get me . . . fat. And FL Bakery will have no small role to play in that mischief. FL Bakery is a latin bakery which also serves lunch and breakfast food. The Puerto Rican and Cuban food and sweets on offer are, in terms of all I've tried, first-rate. The atmosphere is clean, well-organized, and inviting for dining-in though I suspect they also do a robust take-away business. The staff member who waited on me especially ensured I got my iced coffee made exactly how I wanted it--with far more care and dedication than any Starbuck's employee has probably ever provided me. And the donuts . . . forget Voodoo Donuts, these are even better and you don't have to stand in line for an hour to get them, either. The selection of savory goods/things for lunch are also impressive--especially the empanadas and alcapurrias. My only complaint is the location: nearly in Winter Park. I would love one on Colonial or somewhere around I-Dive. Also, some staff speak better English than others--they all try, but if you do know even some Spanish, for heaven's sake use it. It will go a long way.

It featured tofu (the menu says almond crusted, but it wasn't), house made lentil sausage, buttermilk ranch dressed kale, spicy aioli, on a brioche bun. It was SO good and I would absolutely order it again. 10/10 vegetarian option. We also got the herbed chicken salad panini and, again, super impressed! It's on toasted sourdough and came with our choice of side (oven baked sweet potatoes). The chicken salad itself was full of herbs and stood out! The sweet potatoes were also spiced and were a treat, not an afterthought. I loved the aioli dip that came with them and found myself dipping everything in it! I also got a matcha and an iced cortado. The matcha was fab- with a seasonal blueberry syrup. The coffee was actually a bit of a disappointment. It tasted burnt and we didn't love it. Quick shoutout to Matt at the counter who was a GEM when we were making our brunch picks. A friendly staff member can really elevate an experience!! Finally, they carry really good natural wines. I know because I've had those bottles at Golden Hour in Baldwin Park and they are standouts. Next time, I'm grabbing some wine!

This is a fast casual establishment where you order at the counter and they deliver your food to your table. We ordered drip coffee, Fig latte frittata and burrito in the bowl. The burrito in the bowl could've used more flavor and the bacon wasn't as crispy as I'd prefer, but the potatoes on the side were pretty good. The Frittata looked and tasted amazing. The sauce was on point! The latte was really smooth and felt like a hug. They have a good amount of outdoor seating and it's shaded which works perfect for those hot Florida days. Will definitely be back and see what other seasonal offerings they might have in the future!

But I had an urge to find some fried chicken that is lightly battered and this place hit the spot. Located just off of Park Avenue and Fairbanks is The Hen & Hog. Definitely some tasty chicken. I really liked the slaw that had garlic onions celery and some other items but it cut through the savoriness of the chicken. Yes, i ate all of it to the bone. Wife also got chicken and waffles which she thoroughly enjoyed. Also had fried banana peppers with a pimento spread. Pretty nice combination. Staff was super helpful. I love that their pizza dough and pasta are made in-house daily, the pizzas are cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven, and they use authentic Italian ingredients alongside locally sourced products. We ordered the Fig & Prosciutto pizza ($18), Cacio e Pepe ($18), and Mushroom Pappardelle ($17.50). The Cacio e Pepe was overwhelmingly salty, even for the style of dish, and I'd skip it. The Mushroom Pappardelle had a nice earthy, comforting flavor but was a bit dry. The Fig & Prosciutto pizza was easily our favorite. The sweet and savory combination was delicious, though the fig flavor was stronger and sweeter than expected, and we definitely experienced a little flavor fatigue toward the end. On a Wednesday afternoon, the atmosphere was quiet and cozy. There was one woman managing the front of house, from hosting to running food, and she was incredibly kind and welcoming.

Waiter notified the chef and he made me more meat which I took home since everyone else was finished. No offer of another roll. Mine was soggy. They did bring me a small salad. Another table mate got a Ceasar salad with salmon. The salmon smelled very fishy. She told the waiter that she didn't want it and he said he would take it off the bill. However it was still on the bill and she had to ask for it to be removed. A few of us ordered iced tea. It said on the menu that it was $3. The waiter mentioned that they had a special berry tea for the same price. 5 of us decided to get that. When the bills came were charged $4. We decided not to bother mentioning it.
