Cafe de Colombia is my go-to Colombian bakery when I'm on this side of town. I stopped here to pick up a cup of Colombian coffee and a pan de bono for breakfast. I love the smell of fresh-baked pastries in the morning. The bakery is a grab-and-go style since there is no seating area, only a small stand-up counter area. There are empanadas, arepas and all types of traditional breads and sweets. Everyone is so welcoming here and very helpful. I recommend coming here if you are looking for an authentic Colombian bakery. My only recommendation is that they could streamline their ordering process so it is more organized. read more

So first off, this is as authentic as it gets. The food, the atmosphere, and what you would expect from a Colombian bakery if it was a small business. The staff were super nice and helped me with my choices. I got some empanadas, chicharrones, some sort of cheese bread ball, and a chicken and cheese pie. All of it was super good. Let me start by saying , Prices on Chicharrones are extremely high, totally unreasonable, out of control.... Specifically with the quality of the product they are offering now days . For what they're charging, Chicharrón must be skin side 100% crunchy , and plenty of meat on the other side , which is quite the opposite . And last but not least, the Colombian beef empanadas .... My parents have been going to this bakery since I was a kid and my husband and I recently moved over to this side of town so we get to visit it as often as we want now. Even when we lived across town, we would make it a point to go to Cafe de Colombia because the food is spot on to that home feeling of Colombia. The ladies who run the cafe are so kind and efficient. Food here is amazing!!! What they are know for is their pastries and Colombian Empanadas. I wasn't a huge fan of the fried pork rinds but everyone has their personal take when it comes to meat. The service was great they are very welcoming and show great attentiveness when it comes to the customer. The place is a small business so when you walk in it isn't really the most beautiful or have seating available for you mind you since of Covid lots of small businesses were hit hard. But their food quality and taste really beats your expectations. Not to mention their sauces which give the food a nice tang and spice. As a Colombian I APPROVE of this panadería! I am alwaysssss looking for new Colombian bakeries and THIS spot is the bees knees! Everything was fresh, clean, and the staff was super nice. There was a small line when we got there (always a great sign) but it moved very fast. The employees are so polite and helpful! I ordered chicharrón con arepa and she offered to go and chop it up for me in bite size pieces in the back (I've never had that type of service at any Colombian bakery in Orlando so i was pleasantly surprised). The chicharrón was fresh and cooked well! We also got a few pandebonos, pastelitos de guayaba, and empanadas. Both the empanadas and the aji were AMAZING!! Whenever I try others empanadas i can always tell if I'm going to like them if the aji is good because some people usually undermine it but it's such an important component to the dish! Their aji was SOOOOOOO good It had a vinegar, tomatoe, and spicy touch just how i like it and make it. WE LOVED IT! And the empanadas had a good meat to potato ratio! Some other bakeries around town put more potato than meat and that's never cool lol Overall this place is an 11/10! 5 Stars for phenomenal Colombian baked goods, staff that love to give suggestions, and an authentic vibe. After running an errand nearby, I was on the lookout for somewhere local and legit to grab some food. As usual, my fellow Yelpers led the way to this strip mall gem. The place is very casual counter service. When it was our turn we took the opportunity to seek suggestions. The woman behind the counter was more than happy to provide them and we ended up waaaaay over ordering (though the bill came out to under $15 to feed us both with leftovers to boot). We started with the buñuelos, which are lauded on yelp. These perfectly round fried bread baked goods are weirdly addictive. It brought me back to my best friend's kitchen table after her grandmother made traditional Colombian dishes. It's a comforting ball of dough that would be great paired alongside any dish. Next we tried the Pandebono, which is a baked ball that looks like dough, but tastes like cheese. Oh man. These things will 100% be the death of me. I had to wipe my hand between bites because they were slick with oil, but holy moly I just want more. Forever. Always. Thanksssss. We continued on the magical savory journey with the sausages. I don't know exactly what they were made of, but they suggested we add lime and I don't even remember taking the first bite by the time they were devoured. We may have been robbed. All I know is they were crazy good. And I think I'm missing my kidney. In terms of table space, be ready to order takeout or grab a coveted spot on the counter at the window. Will people be sitting extremely close? I'm not going to lie to you. This is affirmative. Will you give a flying flute? Unlikely. You'll be too busy wondering how to pronounce Buñuelos. I'll preface this by saying I'm Colombian and my mom is a chef so I know good Colombian food when I taste it and this got the approval from mami, so that should really be the end of my review but I can't stop talking about the pandebono. Pandebono is a cheesy chewy bread made with corn flour, cassava starch, cheese and eggs and typically served warm. My mom will eat it with coffee and I'll eat it with hot chocolate. They have a ton in the case when you come here that are perfect when the pop out warm but if you come a little later just ask them to warm them for you and they will. The empanadas, buñuelos, and sausage, also got the seal of approval from mom and the hubs. My mom noticed the tamales but said they were the size of a baby and she would never be able to finish them. They also have a whole bakery side I haven't reviewed fully yet but it all looked tasty. My mom also picked up buñuelo mix that she is always on the hunt for, and a package of guava and tamales to make at home. They have an assortment of Colombian sodas to choose from-the standard stuff you'll find at Bravo or another Spanish grocery/restaurant. The place is pretty small and can get crowded. The only seating is against two walls on the high counters but man, if you find a seat just make base camp and when you're done with your first plate of pandebono climb back up that mountain for some more. read more

This place is very small, and like other people have said, it was crowded when I arrived at 9am. The line was out the door. But if this many people are here at 9am, then you know this place must be good. I ordered the Pan Ariquipe(excellent), papa rellena(excellent), and the pastre de pollo(excellent). I probably misspelled some of the Spanish words, but you get the idea. I took everything home. I added two dashes of Tabasco sauce to the papa rellena, and it made it even better. I can't believe no one has mentioned the papa rellenas in a review here. Out of the 3 things that i tried, that was definitely the winner. I don't like coffee, but for some reason I was in the mood for coffee that day, which was the main reason I came here. I wanted to try Colombian coffee. It was the best coffee that I ever had. But I am not a coffee expert. So maybe other people who live off of coffee have had better coffee somewhere else. This place claims to be a bakery, but has some breakfast foods and snack foods that you can get throughout the day. This is not a place if you want to sit down and have a full meal. And for everyone who is letting their ratings be affected by the language barrier, please stop writing reviews. I don't speak Spanish, but I can point to what I want and read the card in front of the food. It is not hard. Let's not forget the value here. I had the 3 items plus a small coffee for $5.50. I'm so full I probably can skip lunch today. After reading the other reviews, I can't wait to try the pan de bono and empanadas. I love me some good empanadas.
