We enjoyed the pan de bono, tequenos, meat empanada and tiramisu. The tiramisu was very good because it actually tasted like coffee cream and not just chocolate. They also have cakes and cheesecakes. I got the raspberries and blackberries cheesecake for $35. It costs a bit more that I wanted to pay, but it looked so beautiful. When it comes to taste, I thought it was going to have some of the fruits inside but it was just on top. So I was a bit disappointed since it was just regular cheesecake. I'd say this is a popular place for locals. Everyone was really nice, we didn't know the protocol but certain items you get and go and certain items are made fresh. So there's a wait yeah ours was a wait a bit longer than they mentioned and longer than hoped for but when it came out, very hit a fresh and way bigger than expected. The breakfast flatbread was stacked high with fluffy scrambled eggs nice pieces of real bacon and cheese. The breakfast croissant was big and nice soft egg. This site is relatively new and this is my first visit to a Fortuna Bakery & Cafe. Not a lot of seating but ample now. The atmosphere is basic, but bright and upbeat with Latin music. They offer a limited variety of pastries and baked goods. They also have a menu with various breakfast items, coffees, smoothies, bowls, salads, and sandwiches. The Colombian staff were friendly and understood my English and pointing at the menu. (This can be challenging at some Columbian cafes) I had the 'build your own' waffle and a cappuccino. Their coffee was bold, very good and the waffle excellent. Light and airy, with a ton of your choice toppings. I thought it a good value. I recommend you check them out. read more

This is my second time stopping by and I got two Colombian empanadas and a hot cappuccino with whipped cream and cinnamon. The place is small and only has seating outside. They have a lot of options for sweet treats and some quick bites. The employees are friendly and quick to take your order; they speak mainly Spanish but the first time I visited I ordered in English and had no issues communicating. The coffee was decent and looked pretty with the cream overflowing the cup but I needed to ask for a larger cup size as the lid wouldn't close . The empanadas were good and it came with prepackaged hot salsa. The shop is located in a small plaza and parking lot is limited to 30 minutes. We went thinking to have a nice Columbian fast. When we tried to order egg sandwiches, they were out of almost all types of bread even though it was early on a Saturday morning. They had one bread left, so we chose that. Then, after waiting for 20 min, we asked about our sandwiches. They clearly forgot, and then just threw together the egg and bread... cold, didn't toast the bread, no butter, and no care. It didn't help that the place was dumpy and dirty inside. I also tried a guava pan de bono and lord have mercy was it absolutely mouthwatering! Next time I'm ordering like 10 of them! We also did not appreciate the fact that all DRINK prices are posted clearly on the inside menu board but NONE of bakery items were listed. This is the best bakery in central FL and I always make a point to go in person or order from them when I visit. We ordered a dozen empanadas to go for New Years. They have the baked ones but we got the traditional corn ones, half with chicken filling and half with beef filling. We asked for extra ají and they gave us a whole bag full. My family also regularly gets the almojábanas and roscón - with either arequipe and guava filling. Their breads are all amazing and made throughout the day so typically no matter what time you go in you can get them fresh. Great Columbian bakery with a good selection of goodies. Fortuna Bakery is in a pretty small plaza with a decent amount of parking. There are a few restaurants in the same plaza. The line can get pretty long in the morning but it moves really quickly. What we got: - Beef empanada: My favorite. Super tasty and lots of meat for its size. - Pan de bono: Cheese bread. Small, light and fluffy. - Corn empanada: Surprisingly really nice. Very very corny (heh.) but it was a pleasant surprise for me. - Iced coffee: They use some bomb coffee beans. This bakery is so good. All the food looks impecable and flawless. This empanadas are the cuties thing you are going to eat in a while and super tasty, crunchy on the outside, soft in the inside, good amount of chicken in it, is just amazing. I drink coffee not too often, and this coffee is by far one of the best I've had in a long, long time. I wish they have more tables to sit and enjoy your food but unfortunately is really hard to find a spot in the couple tables they have outside. The attention is not bad at all but it could be better. Excellent food and coffee options. So many items to choose from. You can easily walk out of there paying $30+ like I did even though you came in for 2 empanadas. Haha. The place is extremely busy which is a good sign to me. When I first stopped in, there were only a few of us. By the time I qas ready to check out, the line was out the door! They are constantly replenishing the baked goods which was nice to see. I don't speak Spanish so there was a little language barrier with the lady taking care of me. I received a potato empanada instead of the chicken empanada that I ordered. She did get the beef one correct though. Both empanadas were excellent though. Don't forget to ask for the hot sauce to dip them in. The only complaint is that I had to wait about 15 minutes for my Colombian empanadas when originally told it would be about 5 minutes. It was well worth the wait. My friend and I loved everything that we ordered. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in the area and drop another $30+ and try more delicious items. read more

Walked in, the ambiance is like a regular bakery , music, people sitting down enjoying their coffee + pastries. This was my first time so i grabbed a few things. I believe they probably work by commission the lady helping me was really sweet & nice I got the Coconut cake dessert Red Velvet Cake Carrot Cake Cheesecake Corn Empanada cheese and one in beef And something they call Buñuelo Coconut cake was dry , the coconut tasted stale the frosting in it wasn't moist. Red velvet cake was fine not too sweet Carrot cake was more moist, a little bit heavy on the cinnamon but overall a 6 out of 10 Cheesecake yuck, no good tossed it The corn empanadas were sooooo bad no flavor, super greasy tossed this too The Buñuelo takes the cake this was sooooooooo bad! It claimed to have cheese the lie detector determined that was a lie. It was like a dry ball of nothing. Lol garbage. Tried pan de bono, spinach and cheese empanadas, guava and cheese empanadas and a colombian meat empanada, and a slice of black forest cake and a thin layered cake (mil hojas- we call it where I came from) with cream and a natural mango juice. Honestly it wasn't awful but it was cold and you could tell it had been sitting out for a while. The fruit juice was blegh, tasted like a watered out mango nectar you buy for $1 so was not worth the almost 5$ we paid for it. The cake looked super yummy but that was it. Nothing special, we were very disappointed. The mil hojas was really yummy though thankfully and the colombian empanada tasted stale but it wasnt bad too bad you had to pay for the salsa separately!! Also, I Spent a total of almost 60$. I only mention the price because we found it ridiculous that after spending so much money they still wanted us to pay extra for the salsa lol. Their one free salsa per two empanadas is a bit ridiculous. There are definitely better bakeries out there. Oh and there is no sitting, probably why not so many people go there. Now it only to go orders. We ordered some coffee and latte, their coffee is not strong or flavorful, and came REALLY hot. Buy and wait at least 10 minutes to start drinking. We ordered tequeños and a guava and cheese pastry, it was ok. Also we had the quatro leche cake, chocolate rolade and a Dulce de leche pastry. It's good, it came crispy and ok. So very impressed with their whole system. They now have an app to conveniently order from. You may also go inside. They have an attendant at door at all times to discern if you have a "to go order". If you do, your order will be brought out to you to keep you from the unnecessary indoor visit. When a line forms - clearly happening often- they have very distinctive distance markers, both inside and outside.
