Besides the risk of becoming a bear meal the sites were well marked with some on top of each other presumably for visitors in groups that want to be within close proximity to each other. Then you had spots that were fairly isolated. During my visit the place was deserted since it was midweek. They have facilities for restroom and showers which were well maintained. There is a playground for children and a volleyball court. While the location gives you the full feeling of being in the woods there is a small town just down the road for any last minute supplies you might need. Overall I was super pleased with my experience considering I have zero knowledge on how to camp. Patrols drive by about 2-3 times throughout the day to ensure safety but the location has cellular reception so in the event of a real emergency you are able to call for help. I definitely will come back with more stuff next time (i.e. more camping supplies).

Campsite (3/5): These are a bit stacked on top of each other but our group had two next to each other so it didn't impact us too much. Ambiance (4/5): These campsites are right on the water which is absolutely stunning! You really feel like you're in nature, but there is a major road near the top campsites and even by the water you can hear road noise. There was a huge group at the top which partied into the night though we're up late anyhow and it was no issue for us. Consider earplugs if you're not like us. Bathrooms (4/5): These were relatively clean for a campground bathroom. Minus a star here because on the last day the women's room was out of order -- but I believe it was due to another guest, as a member of our party heard someone say "oh no it's not flushing!" TL;DR: Great for those late-into-the-night campers. If you stay here make sure you get a waterfront spot.

In Giborim, you get to plan your own schedules. However, the staff had trouble appealing to the wide age ranges campers during unity events. As a fourth grader, I should not be forced to be forced to do head, shoulders, knees, and toes, as well as other childish games during Boker Tov aka their meet and greets! Bus rides to and from camp can be 45-60 minutes each way. Unit shelters are also very dirty, especially during or after rain storms. The food was also mediocre, and parents must comply with the camp's own "definition" of Kosher if they want to pack lunches. I was given a marshmallow fluff sandwich as an alternative lunch when my salad was soggy, which is far from healthy.

They have a smaller overall experience than a Jeff Lake or a Meadowbrook. Given that they don't quite have as much to offer, their price point is a touch high. However, they justify their price by having a smaller camper to counselor ratio. They are also better equipped to handle "special" or "difficult" campers, as they have the right people in place to ensure that all kids have fun and that all kids have a wonderful experience together. Furthermore, the staff takes time to give reports and updates on the experiences of each individual camper, and could not be better with parent communication. My son comes home with a smile and a great experience. He's happy and that makes me happy. They offer pick-up and drop-off right at your door. They even offer a small extended before and after camp program right at the JCC in West Orange.

Horse and buggy ride (extra cost) - it was nice to sit up top and be carted around by a horse. Kids loved it. Train ride - lots of fun. Especially enjoyed the "hold up". Restaurants - believe it or not their food was good. They also serve alcohol which is nice for the parents. Haunted Jail - go inside and have them tell you the story. It's creepy and interesting (kids were freaked out...ha). Cons Some of the shows are long and can be longer than a kids attention span. Prices are high. Should have purchased them online prior although I found out after the fact. Make a day out of it! Enjoy!

Head to the website, book the date & time you want and you're done. www.watergapadventure.com/river-trips A few things worth noting: They offer multiple trip lengths. The standard 4-, 6- and 10-mile trip (Smithfield to Portland) are all booked generically and then when you get there you tell them what you want to do. All pricing is the same which believe me compared to others companies, that's very different - in a good way. They do offer two other longer trips but those require calls to the main office I assume to assess river conditions; your own competency and shuttle availability. The main office in Delaware Water Gap is very easy to find and there was plenty of parking on a quiet post-Labor Day Monday. You check in, you're handed a laminated map, life jacket and given a brief route explanation and then you're off in the van. One problem arose and it was kind of a PIA but it was worked around. Most companies have different types/sizes/models of kayaks and quite often, will ask you what you prefer. Not here. When we left the office, the guy driving didn't say a word to me until we get to Smithfield Beach to unload. He had a few kayaks pre-loaded in the carrier but definitely did not look at them before we left. One of them had a broken foot pedal that he said couldn't be used, another was very much designed for a smaller individual (i.e. if you're taller and/or taller & larger it ain't happening safely) which only left two tandem models. Using a tandem as a single individual is not the end of the world but especially when the seats are still left in the two person configuration (i.e. one front and one back versus the rear one being placed more towards the middle), it's a PIA to maneuver the craft and you are paddling harder to get the job done compared to a single. The scenery along the route was decent. You could see a bit of the Shawnee Resort and Golf Course, an old stone bridge abutment in the middle of the river, under and along 80 and then when you get into the Water Gap itself with the high cliff sides. Very picturesque. Once you go under the old train viaduct in Portland, you give the office a call for the shuttle to meet you at the out point which is at the Portland Pedestrian Bridge. The whole experience was about four hours door to door to cover the ten miles on the water plus the shuttle to & from the pick up and drop off points. Lots of nice scenery, due to the low water level there wasn't much in the way of current except for the area around viaduqt in Portland and even that wasn't bad. I'm not a big fan of the equipment here but I wouldn't let that deter me from coming back in the future for one of their northern longer trips.

The camp also has a small store with all the essentials, and there's a Walmart and McDonald's nearby for anything you may need beyond that. They keep the area tidy, with clean trash bins and bags provided, and the trash is picked up in the morning. The only downside was the lack of night patrol. There were several loud parties making it difficult to sleep, though I understand this is more of an issue with guests not being considerate. Additionally, the site next to ours had a notably loud snorer, which made things a bit more challenging. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend Kittatinny K-Camp.

Pocono/Delaware scenery is definitely 5 stars but it is not KC achievement. We have used KC for the last 20 years every year, and firsthand witnessed how it is going downhill. On the last trip, none of the canoes had working foot rests, which is a must have if you want to row correctly and not break your back. And that is where, Daniel and Chris came to the rescue - they dove into 2 trailers and found us 4 working boats. It is a good thing that it was a mid-week and they were able to provide such personal touch. Just sad when you see a company going downhill like that.

Nothing notable to report but not overwhelmingly great either. The last time I went with the Boy Scouts was one of the worst weekends of my life. There was some river guide who named himself "zombie". He has the worst chip on this shoulder ever. First, he got nearly naked on the bus clearly wanting to show off all his tattoos. Inappropriate in front of a bunch of kids. If he was discreet then fine. He was showboating and it was gross. Then while on the river, I splashed with a paddle. It is indeed against the rules and I was wrong for that. However I knew I messed up the second I did it. A reminder would have been sufficient. Oh no. Zombie came over immediately and berated me loudly in front of everyone (including the kids). Yikes. I said "understood, I'm sorry". He then continued saying he was "gonna hike me out of 'his' trip" if he saw it again. What? He was going to evict me from the boat in the middle of nowhere and walk me home? Alone? What the hell is wrong with this guy? I don't care how capable or good of a river guide he is. If he's going to talk to customers who paid for the trip like garbage, then he doesn't belong there (especially around kids). Major jerk. Then we camped there overnight. Some camp site decided to have a rager party. Like thumping music turned up to full volume that could be heard for miles. No one came to quiet them down. At midnight I had to walk over myself and ask if they could please let us sleep. They said no and it kept going. I called the campsite phone # and got a voicemail. No one was there to help. Needless to say we didn't sleep at all. Just a generally unpleasant experience. You need to get rid of this zombie person. You can't call yourself "zombie" then demand to be taken seriously. Give me a break. You need someone who can patrol the campsite and keep order and the campers safe. Don't go here and waste your money.

Came to The Little gym at Roxbury for a birthday party for one of my friend's kids. Brought my…read morelittle over 2-year-old son. The place was pretty nice and there was a lot of different activities for a variety of ages. The staff here were super friendly and very patient as dealing with younger children. I feel like that's a must as kids don't always follow orders so I really appreciate it how well they worked with the kids. Some of the equipment is geared towards older kids and I think that's fine. We ended up picking up my son and putting him on one of the taller balancing beings which she was scared of at first but then with us holding him he was able to do it. I know he had a great time and being that I'm mostly just going for him, that was good enough for me All in all, a great little experience for your little ones
