The People we have met are amazing and helpful. The campground has a lake with a beach area, you can fish in the lake, boats to rent, a path around the lake which you can walk, game room, playground, volleyball and basketball in large grass area which would be great for other activities, onsite laundry and camp store. The bath house/Bathrooms are maintained and very clean. Linda the owner is always very helpful. Be sure to check out this hidden gem when camping near the Pocono area.

Most sites that we could see had a definitive slant to it. Also, the one way roads route you through the permanent residents every time you come into the park. Worth getting over though because the people running the place are extremely friendly and helpful. Our month stay here was very enjoyable. We did not get to use the pool but it looked great. (daughter was sick - then it was raining). The little playground was nice. We would probably stay here again if we thought we could get a flatter site. Everything else was great.

This place is clean, my girls commented the bathrooms were super clean, the grounds were well manicured. A pool was offered, a mini front office/store, and bingo. You will be assigned a key card to re-enter the grounds, there is a gate at the front with only one road for incoming and outgoing. Owners were very nice. There are a few rules and might sound a little strict but any sensible camper won't have any issues. I can see where the Pocono Speedway could bring in the party people, again I had no issues. We stayed here as were doing Camelback adventures which was conveniently 10 minutes away. 15 min away is a Walmart, CVS. I would stay here again, and cost was reasonable. My site had full hookup.

The roads have pot holes all over them, everything is extremely outdated. The pool is usually green with algae. The bathrooms are disgusting. The children's park is extremely outdated, enjoy camping on rocks, and hills. My family did not sue when a tree came through our camper, and destroyed it. Something the campsite is supposed to handle.. yet my family repaired their camper, and continued to stay there. They were there almost every single weekend, no late payments, no issues. They were customers for years. It's pathetic that the owners act like children, and will legitimately ignore you. They act as if their place is a gift to anyone that stays there, and you should be considered lucky if you get to stay there. When in reality you should be considered lucky you did not need a tetanus shot after coming there.

All worked out pretty well. We made reservations for a camp site in advance, arrived late in the evening right after the sunset and were greeted by a friendly staff at the campground. Our ranger showed us all available sites generously offering his tips and taking into account our considerations. There are bathrooms, hot showers, and even laundromat on-site. Perfect location, close to Delaware Water Gap. Definitely coming back.

My friends and I stayed here this past memorial day weekend. We've been to private campgrounds…read morebefore and had pretty awful experiences, but that wasn't the case at Hickory Lake. Although they cater mostly to RVs, there is a big wooded area in the back for about 40-50 tents. However, we spoke to one of the owners (Ron) when checking in, he said that they only reserve 20-25 tents during busy weekends, which I thought was cool. Although not individually marked, each of the campsites have a standard picnic table/fire pit and plenty of room for a few tents. There is also a pool near the campground entrance and washer/dryer room next to the bathrooms/showers. The general store was also well stocked and affordable. It is $12 per person for the tented area, which I thought was a good deal. I'm deducting a star because it felt like the bathrooms/showers and the port-a-potties located around the campground were barely cleaned during our 3 night stay. The location is pretty good, about 2 1/2 hours from NYC (with traffic) and around a 1/2 hour to all of the major attractions in the Poconos. I would definitely stay at Hickory Lake Campground again and recommend to others.

The campground is spotless, which is something we really appreciate. The sites are well cared for, the facilities are clean, and you can tell the owners take pride in keeping everything looking great. We spent our mornings fishing, afternoons at the pool, and evenings roasting marshmallows or sitting by a warm fire. The arcade was a huge hit, especially when we wanted a break from the heat, and the snack shack was perfect for grabbing a quick bite without having to leave the campground. There was always something to do, but it never felt crowded or chaotic. What stood out most was how comfortable and enjoyable the entire experience was.
