The Lunch Truck
Los D.

I Finally got back my Strength to write this. I ate here about a Week ago i got the worse food poisoning im still going thru it, i just want to make sure no one goes thru this, be-careful if the food taste a bit off, i didn't much of it at first the rice tasted like sink water with soap, 24 hours later after eating here it all started, im truly saddened by this place someone needs to check their cleanliness

Where do I begin? The Flame Hibachi I stopped at today was on Valley Blvd in Fontana. The yoyo who took our order outside the truck tells you about the food and ingredients which he makes up as he goes along, including payment options which is a huge disservice to the vendor. I think he was so stoned and being a salesman. We were told, "Trio plate comes with 3 meats (extra for certain items), fried rice with eggs carrots, noodles and vegetables plenty of food." Our order for two plates was $90 which is outrageous for the food quality and quantity you receiveI The picture I included is after I had one shrimp and two bites of steak, didn't touch the lobster yet, no noodles anywhere. I knew it was expensive, but wanted to support local business. Its unfortunate, because I won't be back and if the food was outstanding, included what was sold and quantity was there, the price wouldn't bother me. Also, no one was wearing a mask, that should have been my first clue.

El Tio Alex Mexican Restaurant - Beer battered fried fish tacos with rice and beans

Ok, this hole in the wall deserves all the good things because it is so good in every respect…read more We had just landed in Ontario Airport and were very hungry. My husband was craving Mexican food. We looked on Yelp and this place was close by so we thought we'd try it... so happy we did. We arrived just as another large party had just gotten seated, but they quickly accommodated us and took our drink orders. The nachos are green and yellow. Thin but well-salted with a choice of a zingy tomatillo salsa or a fresh tomato salsa. The horchata was cold, cinnamony and refreshing. We got a bowl of guacamole, and that was a great addition to the chips and to our tacos. I had the battered fish tacos while my husband had the grilled fish tacos. The tortillas were fresh and warm. The chipotle crema sauce was tart and flavorful. The toppings crisp. I wasn't a fan of the rice and beans... too much dried chili powder/paprika for my taste, but the tacos were the real highlight of the meal which made up for this. The tacos and the service. I haven't had better service in a restaurant in I don't know how long. Everyone on the staff worked well together. They made sure we had plenty of chips, drinks, checked on us regularly, and apologized for the time waiting due to the large party they were serving. We were in such a pleasant environment we didn't even notice time passing. This is a place we definitely will come back to and to which you should go to. It's hidden away in the industrial area near the airport but sincerely worth the trip. Buen provecho!

The carne asada burrito smothered in red sauce and cheese was just what I needed. Tender, well seasoned beef and all the fixins. The staff was super nice. The dining room is simple but spotless. They also cater. I'll definitely be back.

What a wonderful surprise! Mariscos El Velero de Ensenada is truly a hidden gem. Yesterday I had one of their seafood salads, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and you could tell it was made with care. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. If you're looking for authentic, fresh, and delicious seafood, this is definitely a place worth visiting. I'll definitely be coming back to try more from their menu!

This is one of those places that really needs your Yelp help. It is located in an eclectic…read moreneighborhood, a very rural area called Mira Loma, but on a well-known, main thoroughfare. Google Maps turns you into a dusty asphalt driveway where, in the front is one stucco building that might have been someone's house at one time, and in the back is one very worn, almost sleazy, one-story building where three tiny Mom & Pop businesses compete for space. There is nothing fancy to see here, with the exception of the tiny, covered patio at the entry and a claustrophobic ordering counter on the other side of a sliding glass door. The patio walls are lined with bamboo, a couple taxidermied blue marlin, and some seaside-themed, tropical decor. There are maybe 4 tables and a cluster of chairs. I imagine, in the heat of the summer, it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable in here. And yet, reading the food reviews will make your heart go pitter-patter. Their specialty is mariscos with a Baja spin. Ceviche, shrimp cocktails, fish soup, fish tacos and burritos, to name a few. They also have swordfish and salmon on their menu. We came for the fish tacos and were we in store for a surprise! The chunk of fried fish in each taco was as big as a huge chicken tender. Our tacos were filled with moist, great tasting white fish (not tilapia)! The tortillas, hence, had to be the larger size, not street taco sized. The batter was crispy and exceptional, with a light, herbal flavor. The finishing touch was a pile of toppings, including shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, finely chopped cucumber, and an insanely delicious white crema-mayo sauce. I think the unexpected cucumber added a unique, refreshing element to an already excellent taco. The only downfall was that the corn tortilla fell apart before I could get it into my mouth. Heh, I can live with that...just give me a fork. If you thought the price of 1 taco ($4.50) was too expensive, you are wrong. One taco here is the equivalent of two tacos elsewhere. That's a great deal! This is not fast food. The fish is cooked to order. Plan on a wait. Although this is essentially a covered, outdoor dining enclosure with a dutch door style gate, please note. Pets are not allowed. There is no pet-friendly section, nor shady areas to park in their bleak parking lot. The irony of this was the number of off-leash dogs we saw wandering around the parking lot. We saw three small to medium sized dogs, and no owner. We ended up bringing our food and personna-non-grata pup home. They did a nice job with the fish tacos, and one of their customers assured me the fried and/or grilled shrimp tacos and mojo de ajo shrimp were excellent. This means only one thing...we shall return, but without the chihuahua fur baby.
