Inside seating with chips and salsa bar. Though for the price I would expect the same quality service I've received at other locations. I usually have a great experience at Jose's. Maybe it was an off day. Food arrived we ate but this place needs improvement. I don't recall if a manager was on duty. I'm a fan of Jose's food and all it has to offer but this location just needs attention in some areas and it'll be up to par.

My daughter treated me to Jose's last night. I was working late and she came by to do a load of laundry while I was still at work. She bought me Carnitas Nachos with some chips and salsa per my request. I got home an hour after she dropped them off and they were still warm since they were stored in an aluminum tray with a lid. They were absolutely delicious. There was plenty of carnitas loaded with cheese, beans, sour cream, cilantro and tomatoes. I cannot tell you if it had guacamole on it since I dug into them so fast. The chips were crispy. The salsa was spicy just like I like it. I apologize. I don't have a better picture to post. I was completely famished, although she didn't like what she said she ordered herself, I loved mine and I was very grateful. She had ordered Baja fish tacos so she said. She said they were awful. I feel like seafood should be ordered fresh by the sea but that's just my opinion and everyone has their own. I've eaten off and on at Jose's since I was a child. As I grew up in Glen Avon, where this is located.

I think this spot might be better suited for happy hour than for breakfast. I brought my father here around 10am, and the lighting was very dim--something that works well for dinner, but not so much for breakfast. The restaurant itself is nice and definitely has potential. However, the menu posted on the board feels a bit overwhelming, with so much going on that it's hard to know where to start. When you walk in, there are refrigerators with drinks on the side, but you can also order fountain drinks--something that can be a little confusing for first-time visitors. Ordering is done at the counter, and the servers bring your food to the table. There's also a chips and salad bar alongside the fountain drinks. I tried the lemonade, but it was far too sweet. We ordered tacos gobernador, which were just okay. For breakfast, I had two pancakes with eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Note to self: don't order pancakes at a Mexican restaurant--the pancakes were dry, not fluffy, and lacked flavor. The bacon was burnt, though the eggs were good. Overall, breakfast wasn't impressive, but I plan to return and try this place during happy hour before making a final judgment.

For Starter's I Love this Place, I have been going here off and on for many Years. I kind of took a Back Seat to Jose's During Covid. A lot of Public Safety Changes which kind of took away the Whole Experience. Still Supported them but not as much. I always have a Great Experience when I am there. Staff is always Kind and Attentive. Love the Fact that one of the Staff Members has worked there for 28 years, coming up on 29. That Say's a lot about Jose's of Riverside right there. The Place has always been Clean and well Maintained. I have never had a Bad Meal there. Great Portion Size. Presentation of Food has always been Top Notch. I find in most cases that if an Employee has been there for many many Years, it's usually a great Positive projection of their Business. If an Employee has been there that many years, they must really like Who they are working for, which again says a lot. I have Noticed the Employees at Jose's of Riverside for many years now and they all seem to have a Great fun Loving Attitude for what they do and for each other. Always a Great experience when I am there. Thank you, Jose's Taco Shop of Riverside for all the Great Service over the Years. Here's to many more. I really Appreciate what you all do each and every day. God Bless and Thank you.

Bar none, Jose's has been our favorite local Mexican food place nearby and mostly far too. My hubby & I started coming her over 25 years ago for breakfast (love the chorizo & eggs) & I still have several full club cards from back in the day, and now all of my kids, grandkids and family come regularly..including celebrating Birthdays. I had my 1st delicious cinnamon sugary stick donut (can't remember the name of it) with ice cream here, last year for my bday. Other arent as good My daughter & I have ordered the carnitas tacos on Tuesday nigh for several years now... always jam-packed full of meat and juicy and flavorful until tonight. IDK what changed, but at first I thought it was because I had just been on a ship for over a week and the food there was marvelous. After my first taco I asked my daughter "does yours taste dry and funny?" and she said "yeah, its not the same." I said "Well I thought it was me from the ship being used to such high quality food, but, this is not close to what we're used to!" she said "No I can't finish it" I said "No I can't either" I'm sure we'll try it again, thinking maybe the normal cook is out sick or something, but if I get 2 out of 3 bad tastes for the same thing..I look elsewhere. It'd be hard pressed to find a hostess/waitress as cordial, kind and personable as Betty and I hope we don't have to.

The ambiance is cool and the service is fast but the fact that they charge a lot and skimpy with the meat in the burrito. Not a good place to to eat at. More like a pit stop on lunch break at work!!!

My job ordered four six foot burritos for a Retirement party today and the order was not ready at the requested time. Granted we ordered it Monday, June 16th and confirmed the time. Showed up today and nothing was done, or should i say started. Explain to me how you forget to make a large order. SMH needless to say we had 40 plus people waiting to eat so I had to wait for the food to be made. I would've rather given everyone their money back and not give this establishment my business. I doubt I will be returning here for any future business. This is the second time this has happened, just in case you're wondering why I am being so negative. We won't talk about that time

Love that they have a salsa bar with self-serve chips. The service was quick, everyone was friendly and the food was pretty good, 8.5/10. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

I've been here quite a few times before. My go to is typically the chipotle fajitas, super flavorful. This time I went with a carne asada wet burrito and it made my day. I was craving a meaty delicious meal and it was perfection. Service was good & family friendly, as well. Unlimited chips and salsa, too. You cannot go wrong. 10/10.

I saw one singular review that they had halal options (it also said that they do have the cerificate) so I called to double check and they said they have halal beef and chicken options! My friends got the torta charra and the chilaquiles rancheros. They both said they really enjoyed their meals too! They also got the horchata drink, I tried a little and it was very tasty! The owner let us know that their drinks are typically sugar free, and that they use cane juice instead!! We also tried their flan and churro cheesecake. Both desserts were phenomenal as well! Definitely would recommend if you're in the area, especially if you have any sort of dietary restrictions. The owner told us that he wants as many people possible to be able to enjoy the food!

The parking situation is pretty ridiculous, with a super small lot and some people parking wherever or however they want. The overall vibe is pretty cool, and the horchata was really good, not too sweet. The nachos could use more meat, and as I mentioned earlier, the torta isn't anything special. The customer service is good, but they tend to want to take your plates away quickly, probably because they don't have much space. If they're busy, they ask to clear your plates early, which is understandable.

The waitress was very welcoming and I was seated immediately. The dining room was spacious with many tables that can accommodate larger parties. Once seated, I was served a basket of chips and salsa. The chips were crispy and the salsa was fresh with a good medium spiciness. I ordered a Horchata which I felt would be a good beverage to go with this meal. I had the Morisqueta which is a hearty pork rib stew in a red chile sauce served over fluffy white rice with frijoles de olla. The stew was a good mild to medium spicy level which was very appetizing to me. Flavor was on point and the pork rib pieces were tender. The beans had a nice seasoned flavor and rice was a great accompaniment. A solid, comforting meal that I enjoyed immensely. I plan on returning soon to try the other menu items that are from Michoacán like the Enchiladas Michoacanas and Aporreadillo. Breakfast is also served here so that is a plus. The restaurant is in the back of a small strip mall on Sierra. The signage for the businesses there can be easy to miss so GPS is helpful. Parking is plentiful in the strip mall.
