Burnt chard, Carne Asada tacos! And overpriced garbage/basura VIP Michelada drink.
    John G.

Garbage food! Place was too freaking loud and the service was horrible for GRAND TOTAL! 154! Not worth it... Highly disappointed and disgusted with spot! The waitress didn't take our drinks until about 10 minutes. I kept looking around for a waiter to approach us. What we order was Michelada VIP because on their menu it shows nothing but cook shrimp on the rim of the Michelada. But when we got it, they were raw shrimp fillet in half, and the shrimp was not cooked with lime... so it was basically raw shrimp with no flavor! See pic... For appetizers we got fried octopus and it was disgusting because it had no flavor and it was overcooked... felt like you were eating rubber. No seasoning. My son got four plain Carne Asada tacos but the damn taco meat was burnt and charred! No flavor whatsoever! And this kid eats everything. See pic I got bread shrimp tacos, but I swear they served you with a plate of salad with a bunch of coleslaw... you would think you're a rabbit of all the cabbage and lettuce. The ratio was not proportionate, because the tortillas were not warm, they're not fresh... and believe it or not what I thought was jumbo shrimp in the breading was actually just one shrimp per taco! because they gave you big chunks of fried bread. Don't get fool open up the breading because that's what I did and I found out it was one shrimp for taco! See pic... My friend ordered the coconut shrimp ceviche and it was mostly veggies and cucumber. They chop all the veggies up including the shrimp TO D SAME SIZE so you can't tell what you're getting! Because it was mostly veggies and hardly any shrimp The Michelada mix was horrible. The coconut water that they serve on the side as a drink, the water was stale and old! I was so mad and disappointed that I wanted another drink, but even that didn't come because the waiter was attending other tables. The sad thing this spot is a Latino restaurant, and when I was in there, it was predominantly supported by Latinos... and this is how you going to take care of your own peoples. Like they say in Spanish... este lugar es una basura. And the place was not even crowded. There were so many empty tables. See pic... So for... fried octopus, two Michelada garbage/basura ViP drinks, Sprite, four Carne Asada tacos, breaded shrimp tacos, one Modelo... GRAND TOTAL! 154!

Super great spot. First time coming here and I will absolutely be back! Everyone was so attentive and welcoming and we came in on a Friday night. Food was great and everything came out quickly. The food has great flavor and the price is very repayable. Ten stars! Ambiance was wonderful

My gorgeous bride and I understood today's assignment: Hurry and slake my wife's and my hunger while compressed against the minced garlic thin time frame of 25 minutes that we had until we had to pick up our precious fur baby from the Vet. That the restaurant we happened to note outtve the corner of our eyes while bombing down Limonite in search of said sustenance happened to perfectly coincide with my girl's BIRTH TOWN of Uruapan stretched her already brilliant smile to levels that would put the billion-watt casino marquees in Sin City (Las Vegas) to shame! Then we go in, and my wife politely but with gusto informs the server, "Can you guys please hurry? We are starving and must be back at the Vet in 22 more minutes!" It helped that we both didn't even need to look at Mariscos Uruapan's colorful, dense menus- She went with a colorful jumbo shrimp cocktail studded with fresh avocado, hand cut slices of radish, orange peel and easily close to two dozen medium sized shrimp. I requested a carne asada burrito, which along with Leti's cocktail were both brought to our table in record time. I swear we'd barely began to kill off our basket of chips/salsa when the server Mario trucked our orders back to our table! My burrito was, for a place that hangs its shingle based on their proficiency with seafood, pretty good. The flour tortilla was lightly charred from a quick sear on the plancha, the size would've put the fellas at Chipotle to shame and the caliber of the actual meat/rice/beans and crema was, overall, a B-plus For helping us jam through our self-imposed need to turn today's early dinner from a sensual feast into a quickie, for serving us good food that satiated our hunger and left both of us nodding off in the car on our ride back home (we pulled over and bought coffee!) and for doing it all with a pleasant smile on their face ... server Mario and Mariscos Uruapan merits four star today. Heads up: The men's restroom is small and was lacking in paper towels (though they've a wall mounted hand blower). Buyer beware: The prices will bite ya like a gnarly of bowwl of spicy chili does at 3am- They're a wee on the high side. Leti's coctele de mariscos was $23.99 and my Asada Burrito with Crema on the side was a frightening $17.80. Understandably, the restaurant charges a premium because they've a contingent of mariachi performers who begin filing in around 3pm and started playing (warming up, it sounded more like) when we left a wee bit before 4pm. If I could award half-stars, then today's score would warrant a 3.5 stars. But when you factor in the eye popping, nose bleeding prices for off peak hours and the messy, understocked men's room, I cannot in good conscience award MU a 4 star rating. Even IF they understood the assignment. It's too bad the restaurant can't modify its menu and prices to reflect a 20 percent upcharge for all guests who enter after the live music has begun.

Dined here with my wife and we both had a good experience. Our waitress was nice and prompt, the environment was clean, and the food was delicious. Flavorful and spicy. We ordered Aguachiles de pulpo and camaron, and half a dozen oysters. We plan to come back here again and try some different food!

Great place to come on such a hot day. They have valet parking, tip only. No wait to get in, I sat at the bar since I was alone. Service was super fast and the place was super busy. They had live music when I was there on Sunday. It can get a bit loud, but the music was good. If you're looking for a cool place to hang out and have some good food this is the place to be. I ordered the camarón and calló de hacha aguachiles verdes - then did not disappoint! Super delicious. Their Cadillac margarita did not disappoint either. Super friendly staff and locals at the bar.

Came here with some buddies after a round of golf in the hot sun and was not disappointed. Immediately upon entering the restaurant I heard the live music and saw that the waitresses were exactly on par for a mariscos joint. IYKYK. The service was fast and friendly, the beers cold and the mariscos fresh and abundant. I recommend the aguachiles verdes and the camarones sarandeados. Any mariscos here seem like a safe choice.

When we arrived, there was live music playing, the restaurant was packed with customers, and the atmosphere felt lively and welcoming. We waited about 15 minutes before being seated, which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. To start, we ordered drinks. Since a few of us planned on having beers, we asked our waitress if ordering a bucket of beer would be cheaper than ordering them individually, and she said yes. However, after doing the math later, we realized it actually came out to the same price as ordering single beers. Not a huge deal, but something worth noting. My wife ordered a piña colada, which was absolutely delicious and definitely had a nice kick to it. I also tried the mango margarita, which was refreshing, flavorful, and perfect for the warm weather. For my meal, I ordered the Surf and Turf Burrito Mojado, and it was fantastic from start to finish. The flavors were spot on, and it's definitely something I would order again on a future visit. My wife ordered the Tacos Gobernador, which were both tasty and filling. I also got to try some of the ceviche that my family members ordered, and it was incredibly fresh and delicious as well. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be coming back whenever we're in the area. The live mariachi music made the experience even more enjoyable, the food was excellent, and the service was friendly throughout our visit. Highly recommended!

Google Maps turns you into a dusty asphalt driveway where, in the front is one stucco building that might have been someone's house at one time, and in the back is one very worn, almost sleazy, one-story building where three tiny Mom & Pop businesses compete for space. There is nothing fancy to see here, with the exception of the tiny, covered patio at the entry and a claustrophobic ordering counter on the other side of a sliding glass door. The patio walls are lined with bamboo, a couple taxidermied blue marlin, and some seaside-themed, tropical decor. There are maybe 4 tables and a cluster of chairs. I imagine, in the heat of the summer, it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable in here. And yet, reading the food reviews will make your heart go pitter-patter. Their specialty is mariscos with a Baja spin. Ceviche, shrimp cocktails, fish soup, fish tacos and burritos, to name a few. They also have swordfish and salmon on their menu. We came for the fish tacos and were we in store for a surprise! The chunk of fried fish in each taco was as big as a huge chicken tender. Our tacos were filled with moist, great tasting white fish (not tilapia)! The tortillas, hence, had to be the larger size, not street taco sized. The batter was crispy and exceptional, with a light, herbal flavor. The finishing touch was a pile of toppings, including shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, finely chopped cucumber, and an insanely delicious white crema-mayo sauce. I think the unexpected cucumber added a unique, refreshing element to an already excellent taco. The only downfall was that the corn tortilla fell apart before I could get it into my mouth. Heh, I can live with that...just give me a fork. If you thought the price of 1 taco ($4.50) was too expensive, you are wrong. One taco here is the equivalent of two tacos elsewhere. That's a great deal! This is not fast food. The fish is cooked to order. Plan on a wait. Although this is essentially a covered, outdoor dining enclosure with a dutch door style gate, please note. Pets are not allowed. There is no pet-friendly section, nor shady areas to park in their bleak parking lot. The irony of this was the number of off-leash dogs we saw wandering around the parking lot. We saw three small to medium sized dogs, and no owner. We ended up bringing our food and personna-non-grata pup home. They did a nice job with the fish tacos, and one of their customers assured me the fried and/or grilled shrimp tacos and mojo de ajo shrimp were excellent. This means only one thing...we shall return, but without the chihuahua fur baby.
