I have never been so upset about going out to eat. I love to eat, I love the entire process of calling ahead making reservations, talking to the server and then enjoying a delicious meal. Let's just say this experience was the worst and the food was not great..... On Mother's Day I wanted my mom to have a fantastic day so I had her pick where she wanted to go, she choose Flame Kabob. I chose Bosporus......but it's her day so I honored her request. I called ahead and was told by a gentleman named Sam that I had nothing to worry about he'll make sure we had a table. I told "Sam" on the phone that my mother is fasting and from sunrise to sunset she was not going to be eating anything so I wanted to make sure this was the right restaurant. He again said "oh yes ma'am no problem". We arrived at 7:30pm so we can place the order and have everything started to come out at 8:07pm the time in which my parents would be able to enjoy a meal. I was acknowledged upon arrival and was told he would be by to take our order. The entire time no one came by, the tables around me were taken care of and not once did I say anything....at 8pm I finally asked if we could have some water so my parents can have something to break their fast. I was told yes, at 8:07pm nothing. I went next door to Pizza Hut to buy 2 bottles of water......... At 8:30pm finally warm water were placed on our table and our order was taken. I asked if we could place it all and have them come out as they were done. I was assured of this. We ordered hummus and chicken liver for appetizer and for our meal I order the kabob combination. I can't remember the name of my parents meal but one had lamb with couscous and Kafta kabob. We were told the liver will take a while so I graciously acknowledge and said it was fine to have the hummus and tea out first. At 9pm nothing came, every table that came after us was leaving and all the surrounding tables next to me were leaving. Everyone with a doggy bag and smiles on their faces and my parent sat starving. Unacceptable! Finally, around 9:10pm we started to receive food at this time we received cold food....food under cooked and what in my opinion plates you would give your dog! Upsetting to say the least. Every meal placed on the table had missing pieces which were coming after the food was placed. We took boxes and our check and respectfully paid for our meal but will never return. At one point the waiter said he was fasting as well and broke his fast with "lemon juice". I offered my food to him because that's not how people should be treated. The management is awful here. The experience horrific! I hope they can hire more servers and treat them better. When we visit Orlando, we always stop by this place. We actually ended up finding this place by accident. After spending a whole day at Universal Studios, we were starving. Ended up looking to see what was near us and found this little gem a few miles away from Universal Studios. It wasn't too hard to find the establishment and there are plenty of parking spaces. They have two seating options, inside or outside. Because of Orlando weather, we usually end up sitting inside. The atmosphere inside the establishment is very stylish and has nice decor. The place is clean and smells of a nice aroma. From yelp we can get a free appetizer, so every time we come, we end up trying a different appetizer each time. This time we ended up getting the Fried Kibbeh from the appetizer section. It came with a couple of warm pita bread slices, which we ate with the kibbeh and the spicy sauce they have on the table. The kibbeh was crispy from the outside and moist and full of flavor on the inside. For the entree, we ordered a Falafel Sandwich, a Meat Shawarma Sandwich, a Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, a Gyro Sandwich, and the 2 piece Leg of Lamb. As much as I love all of the sandwiches we ordered, my personal favorite entree is the Leg of Lamb. They serve two big pieces of Lamb Shanks with bone in that are super juicy and moist. I love eating the bone marrow from the lamb shank. This entree is served with rice, salad, and Tzatziki sauce. The one negative thing I would like to put out about this establishment is their service. Whenever we eat here, the servers only approach us to take our order, give us our food when it is ready, and bring us the bill. They do not come by and ask if everything is okay, if we need anything. They don't even fill up our glasses unless we ask them to. And when they fill it up, they take our glasses in the back and fill it up and bring it back, which is not sanitary at all. You're either supposed to fill up our glasses from a pitcher you bring to our table or by giving us a new clean glass. Other than the service issue at this establishment, I am happy with this place. Everything is cooked to order and is delivered in a timely manner. The food is delicious and keeps you coming back and the environment is relaxing with beautiful decor. I would rate them 4 stars (one star off because of the service) and would definitely come back here for the delicious food and recommend others to this place. read more

Unfortunately there is no way of giving this restaurant a 0 star review. I've placed an order yesterday night through Uber Eats and I called them right after to check on the order. Service over the phone was really bad and they didn't follow any of the instructions that were asked, and order arrived late. 3 of the sandwiches haven't arrived with the order. Fish that came was dry. They sent us a package of FROZEN (!!!) pitta. Literally frozen. I've never seen something like this. I honestly have nothing good to say. read more

Went in for lunch today. Have driven by this place hundreds of times but today we stopped....SO glad we did! The food was fresh (super hot fries) and lentil soup which was not only hot, but something I have never had and will now crave. The texture is creamy and rich with loads of flavor. Our server was incredibly kind, patient and helpful. She even let us taste the other soup option so we could be confident in our choice. The sandwiches as seen in the photos were wonderful. The gyro had pickles not cucumbers and that little touch added so much flavor (but not over powering). The chicken shawarma was full of flavor and incredibly filling. Sure enough, I searched on yelp and found this. Thanks yelp for being the best search engine for food :) Flame kabob honored a free appetizer when we checked in, which was a nice touch. We got the hummus with little warm pieces of bread. I loved the bread, it was so fresh. For my entree I got shish tawik with chicken. It was basically marinated chicken skewers with tomato, onion, peppers. It was very nice. The rice with bits of noodles were delicious. Their entrees are $15-20. I liked the quick and efficient service. We knew exactly want we wanted to order and the server assisted us right away when we were ready. Was craving falafel for dinner and this place popped up on Yelp so figured I'd give it a try. It is located in a pretty busy shopping plaza next to some other restaurants and Publix. There is plenty of parking is available. The restaurant has some outdoor seating available. I ended up ordering a falafel sandwich to go, which was pretty decent. The falafel wasn't dry, which is always my biggest issue with falafels. It was plenty flavorful and the pita was super soft. My only complaint was that there wasn't a lot of sauce so when I got to the latter half of my sandwich I had barely any left. First things first: I'm not an expert on Middle Eastern food. I don't eat it often, and have little point of reference as to how it should be. That being said, I REALLY enjoyed my meal at Flame Kabob. I started with the fried Kibbeh as an appetizer. It came out darker than other pictures I've seen online, but to my surprise it was very tasty. Best not to judge a book by its cover. For an entree I ordered lamb chops, medium well. The chops came out overcooked to the point of being stiff and fibrous. They also gave me rice instead of the fries listed in the menu. I informed my server, and (with no drama and a smile) she took it back to have it corrected. To be on the safe side, I requested the chops be cooked medium; they came back well done. *sigh* Maybe I should have asked for medium rare. Luckily the chops still tasted good; I would have been nervous to send them back again. It didn't hurt that the hummus and pita were very good too. I look forward to trying them again. I'm always in the search for good Middle Eastern food, especially Lebanese-style cuisine, and Flame Kabob is an excellent choice for the area. As far as I can tell, the food is authentic, and prepared with very fresh ingredients. In my experience so far, the food is wonderfully seasoned, fresh tasting, and delightful all around. The Chicken Shawarma rolled in pita bread is absolutely perfect. The Toum garlic sauce is a gift from heaven bestowed upon us mere mortals in this corner of Dr. Phillips. Seriously. Get two (or more) sides of this sauce because if you're anything like me, you will run out because you put it on everything with careless disregard to how much you had remaining. I have not yet eaten at the restaurant, but I've been inside to pick up my lunch order (twice now) and while small, it seems accommodating, clean, and pleasant enough. The main problem that I've encountered here is not with my order, but those of my co-workers. Our orders have not been consistent with the menu. For example, someone did not get their fries with their pita, someone else got their fries, but not the Toum sauce, and things of that nature. Service has been very pleasant, but just not consistent. In short, this is a fantastic restaurant in the area and I really love coming here for the excellence of the food. Looked for a middle eastern, affordable, value, and non-chain lunch stop, Flame Kabob showed up as real option on the Yelp list. Upon arrival, my wife and I would describe the exterior of the small restaurant is very humble in appearance (with the exception of the large letters for the their sign on the south side of the building) and located at the end of a storefronts in the Dr. Phillips Marketplace. We were greeted warmly and were able to seat ourselves in a booth. Overall seating is maybe 35-40, depending on how many sit in the available booths. Small tables also are available. After we placed our order, we were served a basket filled with fresh, warm pita and a small bowl laden with about 5 green olives, 1 kalamata olive, and 5 homemade pickle slices. The owners, from Jordan, bake the pita at their only other location, close to Disney, and the freshness was evident. For dipping the pita, each table is set with two bottles of olive oil - one plain and the other with herbs and spices. We both tried the seasoned olive oil and to our palate's delight, found that lemon juice was also present. For our lunch, we chose the vegetarian platter ($10), complete with 2 falafels, baba ganoush, 3 stuffed grape leaves, tabouleh, and hummus, and, the shish kabob with grilled lamb wrap ($7). Both dishes were seasoned well and we were impressed and thrilled with the food and flavors: Vegetarian Platter - the vinegar and parsley-based tabouleh was fresh, the stuffed grape leaves were a combo of chewy and tangy (lemon) that suited it well (I've found other restaurants' take on stuffed grape leaves usually bland and limp), baba ganoush on point, falafels had a bit of a spice finish, and the hummus was smooth with an okay flavor. Shish Kabob wrap - the mixture of seasoned lamb with tahini and other spices complemented the dish with shredded iceberg lettuce and small pieces of roasted tomatoes finishing off the ingredient list. The service was friendly and accurate; the interior is modest in decor. However, check out the interesting wood door with signage at the back of the place. A definite return for lunch would be in order if/when we are in the area again. read more

Today I was in a rush and stopped by at this place to get a quick sandwich and asked them how it would take and I was told it takes 10 to 15 min! I thanked them and said I'm in a rush and I need to get my food in 5 min! My husband and sister n law and I stopped here on our way out of town. It was a great decision. They allowed dogs outside so that was a great plus. We got the hummus chicken swarma appetizer. It was delicious. I got the lamb chops. I'm used to getting it medium rare so it was a bit too overcooked for me but the taste was great. My sister in law got the chicken swarma and husband got the kabob. I got to enjoy them later as leftovers. It was so good! Wandered over the other night without giving it much thought. Luckily, they are casual and relaxed about the dress code, but it was still quite classy. Makes for a good family place. As a matter of fact there was a family of five at a nearby table. There were small children in the group and all seemed happy. It would make a great place for a fun date, but perhaps not "dazzle your date with romance" one. Looking over the menu, there was plenty to choose from, but I will admit I went fairly tame... Meat Shawerma (I chose chicken). It was delicious. Quite flavorful, and served over a generous bed of basmati rice along side a house salad. The waitress was quite attentive, keeping my drink topped off and asking several times if I needed anything. After my meal, I was tempted by the rice pudding, served warm and sweet in a little bowl. All of the variables favored Flame Kabob when I stopped by for a take-out lunch earlier this week. I had a two hour block that was quite empty in my calendar, so I was not rushed. I had missed breakfast, so I was hungry. I had been to the gym, so I had no reservations about calories. I prefer Middle Eastern food to all others. Really, the situation had teed things up quite nicely for a good review and I set my expectations accordingly. Alas, my expectations were not met. The space, which you used to be occupied by Spice Indian Cafe is nicely arranged with about as much of a Moroccan or Middle Eastern flare as we can reasonably expect in a strip mall next door to a Subway and a Pizza Hut. I was quickly greated by a very pleasant young woman who cheerfully and efficiently took my order and accurately told me to expect a 10 minute wait. Since I was hungry and had missed breakfast, I ordered a vegetarian platter (Baba, Hummus, Taboule, vegetarian grape leaves, falafel) and a falafel wrap (served with fries). The price was certainly appealing, as my rather substantial meal came to only $17. Sadly, none of the food really measured up. I started with the falafel wrap. Although it was full of fresh vegetables and a delightful tahini, the falalfel was hard on the outside and mushy on the inside, with very little flavor. The falafel on the platter was no better. The hummus was creamy but apart from the oil that gently pooled on the surface, was surprisingly flavorless. The baba and taboule was a bit more flavorful than the hummus but still nothing that would drive me back for more. I would describe the grape leaves but they did not leave enough of an impression for me to even begin to do so. Ho hum. My meal at Flame Kabob offered sustenance. Nothing more.
