I've been to Flaming Grill numerous times but never have reviewed so here it goes. The good. Most of the food is quite tasty. The hibachi is quite good and fresh albeit a little overcooked on the eggs and beef. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The value for what you pay is the reason you go as well as most of the food. There is quite a lot of lobster and crab, but no lobster tail. My favorite things are the hibachi grill, the coconut chicken, the boneless spareribs and soups to name a few. There truly is something for everyone. The not so good. The sushi is very hit or miss I've had it. It's pretty good and I've had it where I wouldn't need it. It's not that it's bad. It's just lacking flavor. Most of the little dessert cakes are dry and flavorless. It can't get crowded on the weekends, but I've never had to wait for a seat. Granted it's usually just my wife and I if you have a big party you might wait on the weekend. The bad and why I took a star away on the review. Twice now, I've been there and ordered from the hibachi grill. The cook after he's done preparing your food will point at his tip jar or pick it up and shake it at you. If you don't tip him, he says something nasty to you. I'm sorry that's unacceptable. Overall, it wouldn't stop me from ever going back. Keep in mind it's an all you can eat Asian buffet. If you realize that and you're spending $23 at the time of typing this, it's well worth it. read more

I'm not normally a fan of buffet restaurants, but my mum convinced me to visit Flaming Grill because they have seafood and sushi. For a buffet, it was not bad! Especially for the price. The quality and variety are better than that of similar establishments. That's why I'm rating it a 4 instead of 3, in the category and for the more than reasonable cost - because you really cannot complain for all that you're getting for $20 ($14 for Mon-Sat lunch but with a more limited selection, and discounted pricing for kids), including seafood like crab & crab legs, oysters, mussels, shrimp, sashimi, and even lobster. There are about 10 different stations and a made-to-order Mongolian BBQ grill, plus desserts and ice cream. I've only gone on the weekend and the food trays were always being replenished. No, the food is not going to be the greatest or prepared with finesse, and the sushi is below average, but as long as you manage your expectations and understand this isn't the buffet at Wynn Las Vegas, you'll enjoy it and find something you like. read more

Service: the staff were nice, they are very attentive to get our plates. Food: The food is hit or miss. I personally like their hot food section. HOT FOOd SECTION: typically all of it is delicious. The food selection is a lot. I personally like the seafood, sausage and the egg tarts. SUSHI SECTION: this was the worst part of the buffet. Even though it is prepared on the spot but you can notice that the fish that were used on the sushi/sashimi are old. You can just tell by the color of the fish. DESSERT: huge selection of cakes, fruits and ice cream. They are mass produce so don't expect good cakes. I love the ice cream tho! Price rating: 5/10. I came to Newburgh to meet with family and we just happened upon this buffet. It was surprisingly really good. The buffet is quite large with sushi, hibachi, and the typical chinese food selections. You can do take out by weight but we decided to dine in. We were there around 7pm dinner rush and we were served by two really helpful waitresses who were very attentive and friendly to our kids. All the food was fresh and hot. My husband enjoyed the lobster, steak, and friend chicken wings. I enjoyed the hibachi fried rice, black pepper chicken, sautéed mushrooms, and teriyaki chicken. There's not to many buffets found in the Hudson Valley compared to many years back, and happened to visit here with a big party. Plenty of seats are available with enough space all around to fit a lot, like in our case. Quite a variety of foods to choose from. I happen to make a couple trips having different tastes of what's offered, BBQ chicken, fries, chicken nuggets, jello, pizza, just to name a few. Most of the other choices offered were seafood (main offering), sushi, vegetables, fruits, and rice. Each station has plates, and I noticed that some of them were wet - no biggie, but it'd be better if it's completely dried. Just be careful when moving around while getting foods and drinks. Family likes this place then complains the food is cold which is why I don't like it. By the time you sit down the food is cold. Always.

The food was mid at best. I sampled almost all of the food there but they were only either incredibly sweet or incredibly salty. The lobster was terrible to say the least. The steak was as tough as a car tire. The rest of the food were as sweet if not sweeter than candies. The restaurant was not clean nor well lit. The men's restroom were dirty, humid and funky smelled. The service was absolutely trash. We sat at a table for 2 for roughly an hour. There was this Chinese waitress who stared at us awkwardly while we ate. Then in the middle of our meal, she threw 2 of those metal plates with our receipts on it and ask us to PAY UP NOW as if we were about to dine and dash. So we had to wipe our hands and set our plates aside and gave her our cards. She then tossed the plates back THE SAME WAY SHE DID which was disrespectful even for an Asian like me. Then we handed her our receipts. And she literally bent over and put her face against mine and screamed at me. She said: TIP TIP TIP WHY NO TIP or something along the line of that. Mind you she did not show up the entirety of our meal, and another waitress refiled our drinks once. Guys please DO NOT COME HERE! AS AN ASIAN MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY THIS RESTAURANT IS A SCAM! 20 bucks a person just to grab your own plates and get treated like trash! I'd would never return! last night, I brought my daughter to celebrate for her birthday. The food was luke warm to cold because they keep the steam tables set too low. and some of it didn't taste right. Then my daughter found a Cooked cockroach In her food! I went over and Asked to speak to the manager, so the woman at the register Was the one who talk to me I showed her the cockroach which I brought over to her in a napkin She snatched it out of my hand! And was about to crumple it up and put it in the garbage But I sat there and argued with her and demanded her to give me my napkin back But she said she needed to show it to the kitchen staff then she threw it out. She came with me to my table for me to show her what my daughter found the cockroach in. Then she Proceeded to tell me that it wasn't a cockroach With some guy from the kitchen angrily saying something in Chinese behind me and we had the server with an angry snotty look on her face sitting there looking at me and Angrily speaking with the woman who claimed to be the manager in Chinese so we couldn't understand what they were Saying. Then she unbelievably asked if my daughter still wanted to eat so I she told her no, so she said there would be no charge for my daughters food then she asked me if I was going to eat more food and I told her , are you kidding me??? OF COURSE NOT!!! Why would I want to eat food that had cockroaches in it? unbelievable, I was sick to my stomach from what I ate not sure if it was because of what my daughter found in her food or because the food wasn't good, although I was maybe a little bit nauseous before she showed me it, but totally felt like throwing up after. My poor daughter wound up sick after only having a few bites of some chicken that didn't taste right. Then she told us we had to leave, as if we wanted to stay This place used to be so good before Covid But since the quality and the service has sadly gone downhill I am not quite sure how they managed to keep a rating above four stars, or how they manage to stay open for that matter I looked at some of the other reviews, And I guess we're not the only ones that found a cockroach in their food!!! I'm amazed that the health department hasn't shut them down. I think what I have chosen has been very tasty. The fried wings and General Tso's chicken is cooked a little too long. Their fried won tons are so good. I love the freshest shrimp there I have ever had. The Broccoli slaw is great. I'm pleased with the place and the food. I always ask for the senior discount too. My daughter and I were very excited to eat here but left immediately when we were openly and unabashedly discriminated against by the staff. Some context: my toddler and I are both extremely tall. I am 7' and she is in the 150th for percentile at her age. When we asked for an adult meal and a child's meal, they told my daughter that "she is too tall to receive the children's price." Not that she was too old, but that any child over a certain height would be charged more. When I pointed out that I am seven feet tall and that she got her height from me, they acknowledged and confirmed that tall children would be charged more. I asked if I would have to pay more for being tall and they said that only tall children are charged extra. Again, just to be clear, my daughter was charged extra for being tall. They did not question her age or ask to see verification. They were comfortable telling me in no uncertain terms that they charge children extra if they are tall. We were there for lunch on a Friday a few weeks ago. It was busy and the food was pretty good. A nice selection of the typical Asian buffet plus a few more different varieties. Overall, my impression was good and I will go there again. My only recommendation to them is to add more hot water to the steaming stations. They are down to 12 varieties out it 18 that they use to have and this time around 10 of 12 trays had some kind of crab rolls, no Tuna, No Salmon, No Eel, No White fish, No cod Just Crab......selection has gone really down hill very disappointed especially since they are getting a big crowd from the new casino on the other side of the parking lot. Not a bad place to eat for a Buffet. I miss the days when Crab Legs were included. Now there is an extra price, and you pay by the pound. They check your temperature at the door, and I have no problem with that. Some people may not like it, but in these times, you have to keep everyone safe. For the price, the food and service is pretty good for a Chinese Buffett. Sushi is good not great. Stir fry station is nice addition. Soups are hot and very good. Although lobster is great to have at any Buffett, here it is deep fried with some sort of nasty sloppy sauce and it's just not that good. The claws for some reason have almost no meat in them. The tails are gone in seconds when they do refills. Huge negative, is they do not serve snow crabs. But for the price it is still reasonable with the amount of different food they offer All other food is pretty good and fresh as turnover for food here is very high as a lot people here all the time.
