This placed lucked out because the new Resorts World Hudson Valley is in the same parking lot and does not serve food. Let's be clear it's not connected to the casino so it's short drive in the parking lot to the buffet. The place is clean, and staff is friendly and respectful with a very reasonable price for the weekday buffet. If you play this place right, you'll get your money's worth and have some decent food with a good price point. They have sushi, shrimp, fish. hibachi grill and plenty of other items just manage your expectations and you'll have a good meal. Again, the place couldn't be luckier because of the lack or no food in the completely dead Newburgh Mall and I could really see this place getting busier in the future. Usually when my friend and I travel, we always like to hit all the different chinese buffets as part of our road trip and sadly, the one we hit at, Flaming Grill & Buffet was a huge disappointment. The lobster they advertised was old and rubbery and the tail portion of the lobster had no meat in it. I discovered this after waiting forever for a new batch to come out, to then score three tails and as I was about to dive in, there was literately nooooo meat in it. All they did was heavily batter the tail shells only to then fry it to make it look like there was meat inside. We were both shocked. All in all, I was not impressed with this place and mind you my expectation was already low. They did not serve any snow crabs and their sashimi looked like scrap meat for fish bait. Broccoli tasted so old and mushy where it supposed to be nice and crunchy in the chicken. The lobster was disgusting. Just absolutely an edible. The sushi was OK. Went on a busy Sunday, there was a bit of a wait but we were seated placed our drink order and then the madness ensued. I took a trip over to the sushi bar, a decent variety it tasted fresh, the side bar with the kimchi and such was messy, and lots of sushi was missing labels or it was the wrong label. The flavor was on point, and I went back for more. The table was a shorter than most which was strange having to hunch over food almost but the staff was quick to clean plates and keep cups of soda/water full. The rest of buffet was your standard Chinese buffet we have all visited while on vacation. The overall flavor of the food was good but I must say my overall complaint was the food was constantly mislabeled, the salad dressing were mislabeled ( my sister took buffalo sauce instead French dressing) it would say chicken and have beef in front. The hibachi station was ok but the chicken looked like it had been sitting exposed all day. Dessert was Hersey brand and assortments of fruits, pudding and cakes. It's not kid friendly they measure your kids to see if they are the age you say. I had that happen to me they have a rule that it's hard to find in the place and a measuring stick to measure your kids to see if they are 62 inches. My kid is 10 years old and the manager didn't believe us that he was 10. And asked to measure him otherwise they were going to charge him with as an adult. My kid was embarrassed as well as me and my wife the manager said it in front of other people so we were embarrassed as well there were a whole bunch of other kids there and I disnt see the manager asking the other parents about the kids agr. I took my 11 year old daughter to The Flaming Grill for dinner last night. It is one of her favorite restaurants in the area. The food is usually fresh and delicious. Last night was not one of those experiences. To start off, the waitress refused to accept that she was only 11 because she is tall. So I was told she would be charged as an adult. Even though their policy is 11 and under pay children's price. The manager came over and asked her to stand up and I said no, this is not a roller coaster it is dinner and she only eats one plate. The manager said their new policy is based on the "size" of the child and not their age. We were too hungry to argue over the few dollars so I said ok. As we walked around looking at the food there were several staff members dumping new trays of food right on top of the old food that has been sitting out, just mixing the fresh food with the old, dried up, crutsy, stagnant food. Much of the food was either too dry or soggy and cold. The bench seats in the booths were torn and not even attached to the base so every time I got up the bench seat slid out and fell on the floor, revealing old food and dirt that was never cleaned up. The wait staff walked around with dirty dishrags wiping down the tables and food trays. The desserts were great as usual as I am sure they come from a local bakery and are not cooked in house. Soon after we got home I spent quite some time in the bathroom and even felt a bit sick in the morning... Last time we give that place a chance. If i can put a zero star for customer service I would. The receptionist was very rude towards our family especially to my youngest child. He was asked how old was he and when I answered 9 she didn't believe me and asked him. When he said that he is 9 she said "no". She repeatedly asked my son, harassing the poor kid, and asked my whole family AND EMBARASSING US!!!! Oh on top of that she was pushing my child while asking him. I was never put into this situation at all in my entire life let alone harassing my kid like that. Went there a few times before Covid and it was ok, Went yesterday afternoon and it was awful, most of the trays were empty an\The beef and broccoli was all broccoli no beef, people were standing in front of the buffet eating for the trays to be refilled but that was not happening. Horrendous experience!!! I've traveled around the world and have never seen a roach inside my food. I've been to this place many times with family and they have gone downhill. We'd been going here for a couple years prior to the COVID crisis. We were so looking forward to our return there for lunch despite their raising the price considerably. Something we can understand since so many restaurants have lost so much over the past year. What we experienced was nothing like what we remember. Sure, the food was all tasty but most of it was barely warm. Sorry, but I don't go out to eat so's to get stuck with borderline cold food. I don't expect it to be piping hot but jeez! The newburgh buffet has much better rice. The stuffed shrimp here was very good.nice and moist . They also had a steamed whitefish that was cooked to perfection. The NB shrimp is always dry. I like having a little dessert. The NB has apple pie and soft serve ice cream which I love. The FG has an ice cream freezer with assorted ice cream for you to choose from as well as those assorted cakes that look pretty but taste terrible. I passed on the ice cream. All in all we like this place. The food at the NB is a little better. The FG does have a lot to choose from and I didn't get to try it all. I will go back but there in no rush. read more

A $12 all you can eat buffet? My expectations were really low but I was pretty happy with the selection. I liked the Mongolian BBQ and the ample supply of shrimp. I was pleasantly surprised I was even able to get some lobster tails. I easily ate my money's worth of lobster and shrimp. I can happily report I've had no stomach issues since eating here. The sushi wasn't impressive by any means. The fish looked like it was farm raised, previously frozen. The salmon was pale. I'll just get it out there. Buffets have to be pretty dang special for me to go back. I just wasnt a fan. Judging by the amount of people ALWAYS there, I'd say I'm the only one that feels that way. It took forever to get drink refills and the food was kind bland and chewy. Maybe it was the time of night we went? I dont know, there was still a bunch of people there. The price is reasonable and the selection is LARGE. I just thought it was mediocre at best. Sorry to all those that love it. Whelp, That went down hill. I stand by the thought that sushi can really only be properly enjoyed when made to order. It can also be noted that there are various risks one takes when ingesting sushi. If you were going sky diving wouldn't you want a reputable instructor? Well if you're eating sushi it's best to stick to quality sushi restaurants. If you want to eat to your heart's content in a gluttonous rampage (which we all want to do from time to time) then this buffet is as good as any other. I recant previous statement that this place is clean. It was obviously clean for the grand opening but now that its had some time I would say its just as sketchy as any other buffet. I had very high hopes for the highly appraised Flaming Grill and Buffet however my experience at this local favorite was terribly lackluster. For starters the host was extremely rude at my party and argued with us about the size of our party. The food left me in utter shock and disbelief, the lobster was supposed to be a fan favorite however looked like it's been dead for weeks. The classics were done well, sushi, lo main, and the chicken on the stick were my favorites. Very disappointed in the dessert section, I was hoping for a soft serve machine but ultimately I had to settle for a chocolate cup. We also had an issue with the other patrons regarding sampling in line which is just a staple for us buffet enthusiasts. Our waiter was little odd at times and gave me some weird vibes but he played an EDM version of happy birthday which made my party very happy. Overall Flaming Grill is a very firm C-, my insides are paying the piper at the moment but the reward out weighed the sacrifice. Parentals were right--the sashimi was fresh; plus, the rest of the sushi was pretty spot on: fresh, tasty, cold. Overall, I was not surprised by the standard selection of food for a Chinese buffet. I appreciated the grill that they have, where I was able to customize a dish of raw food for a chef to cook in front of me. The chef even allowed me to adjust how much teriyaki sauce went into my plate; that was nice because they usually put way too much. Service was not great. My mom had asked for a lobster cracker; when our waiter brought it to us, he placed it on the opposite end of the (long) table we were sitting at, and then walked to our end to let us know--in an impatient tone--that he already brought the lobster cracker. Came in here with my family of 12 like we do almost every sunday. Spent almost $275 for everyone not including drinks and a mandatory tip they put on the bill. Then their machine ate my kids dollar and they refused to reimburse him telling us to call the machine company. Service sucked, they filled my water glass once in 2 hours. My husband loves to go to this place. He tends to only eat the american food there where I eat the typical american chinese items. I was there once before and I didn't care for it.
