What an amazing place this was. We were visiting from CT and read the amazing reviews and had to stop buy, food was excellent. I had the most delicious French toasts ever with that maple butter and that unique maple syrup from NH. Service was outstanding both days so I left with the desire of a quick return. We came on a spring snowy day so there was a line of people inside but they got us to the table as quick as possible but this was a weekday so we may have been spare the weekend wait times. Food and drink: As we waited in the line, they have a list of specials which we ordered from. If we weren't waiting, we may have missed them. I got the MA-RH omelet and my better half got the hooterville, breakfast sandwich special. Mass-Rhode Island Omelet Three-egg omelet with diced chourico Portuguese sausage, onions, and pepper jack cheese served with toast and home fries The Hooterville (special) $12.95 - it is a breakfast sandwich unique. It is two flapjacks with sausage cooked inside, surrounding an extra large egg with cheddar cheese and a dollop of hollandaise sauce served with home fries. Both entrees were sold with the standard coffee with it. I would definitely order both again. Staff: There weren't a ton of staff but everyone was friendly and got everything done within a reasonable timeline. Overall: Off peak is a good time to visit this location or on the earlier side. Early breakfast during off season! It wasn't packed, plenty of seating, and prompt, kind service! The interior was very whimsical, train, outdoors, Christmas decor~ they cater to tourism for sure. The staff was so kind, open to answering questions, small talk, and recommendations. I felt very welcomed. Food that was ordered today was breakfast #2, 2 scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, home fries, and I asked for no bread. Coffee was topped off when needed. Food was satisfying but it wasn't anything amazing or worth a 30 or more minute wait. This place probably does get busy during seasonal times. When we came it was off season so the place was empty and lucky we made it right before they were going to close next day until May. We were welcomed and sat down immediately. We ordered some breakfast menu and I got the hungry cub. Mine came with french toast, eggs, french toast, sweet sausage, home fries, and french toast. We got a chocolate pancake to share and of course some coffee. The breakfast was pretty standard with scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon and sausage. Their home fries were skin on sliced potato which was not what I'm used to but still good. Sweet sausage was tasty and bacon was nice and crispy. French toast was pretty good. Their pancake was large and good but had a texture after that I was not a huge fan of sort of like undercooked batter. Coffee was pretty standard. The service was good and people were very nice. Overall I liked the place and it was a nice stop for breakfast. The service was great and price was reasonable. Food I think its pretty standard for breakfast place. This is a great place to eat. In our opinion Polly Pancake house has the better coffee and pancakes but these are delicious. The blueberry are the best pancake here. The home fries are better here than Polly's battered potatoes. The baked beans here are phenomenal. The service is great. The ambience of farmhouse and great. The coffee is not strong. Today was my first ever visit to NH today and I was so in love with the autumn rain & fall foilage & especially this amazing diner my friend found after our hike today. They had a line outside ( i can literally understand why, the food is the best) & it didn't take long for them to serve everyone and get each guest seated. The inside was decorated with Christmas decor, they had tshirts, beanies, & coffee mugs for sales which I was so tempted to buy. And the rain outside where my friends and I sat overlooked a pond decorated with pumpkins.and overlooked mountain terrain with fall trees in different yellow, red, and orange foliage. They had a great menu with so many options. I cant remember the exact name of my plate but I got the big platter with over easy eggs, sausage, bacon, country potatos and french toast. The only downside to this place is actually the waiting for a table. If you don't want to wait you have to be first in line as soon as they open, but even then it may take a few minutes. There's often a line outside the door. If you have nothing else going on it's okay to just wait. Unless it's cold out and then it really stinks because they won't take your name and let you come back. But give yourself a great start to the day; just wait a bit, it's usually less than 30 minutes and you'll forget that wait as soon as you take your first bite of blueberry pancakes. read more

Currently FJ's a 4.5 stars and that's what I would give it too if I could. Initial impressions were not so good due to the fact that we were not greeted at all for quite a while. We kept seeing waiters working and thought wow we must be waiting for a hostess. Eventually ( 5 min at least) a waitress said good morning because she was cleaning the table RIGHT NEXT to where you have to wait. I asked if they had a hostess and she said no. Couple minutes later another waitress said hello and she'd seat us in a min. Once seated it was all good. Our waitress was sweet and very friendly. Our food selections were top notch! 1. Crab cake eggs Benedict- strong crab flavor, good, very thin crab cakes almost like a spread of crab cake 2. #4 one flapjack one egg one bacon one "sweet sausage" I chose blueberry flapjack- best blueberry pancake I've had and I might need to go back and get another before leaving town!!! Everything was done SO well, perfectly toasty and seasoned potatoes, eggs, bacon, sausage all tasty and cooked perfectly. The BEST part though was being offered hot sauce and being PLEASANTLY surprised by Cholula (the best) AND a homemade habanero hot sauce in a reused Franks bottle which is exactly what I do at home! I make and bottle my own homemade hot sauces (in TX) and certainly didn't expect that in New Hampshire! I think this might be a rarity here in the NE idk but so far other establishments do NOT have hot sauces much less their own homemade really good sauce. On a fall weekend, expect a wait as soon as they open. We got on the end of the line at the corner of the street at 10 and waited around 45 minutes. The line is slow but once you are seated, you get your food quickly maybe after 10 minutes. The buttermilk pancakes were fantastic. Fluffy and not too dense. The maple butter was light and not too sweet. You also can't go wrong with the pumpkin pancakes. Visiting from TX and saw this on yelp so had to check it out! It was absolutely delicious breakfast! The staff the food the service was all excellent! Had a little wait roughly 20min or so for 2 people. I also have a food allergy (tree nut) and they said they couldn't guarantee that cross contamination could potentially happen because when cooking pancakes etc on the griddle it is a slight possibility but was told they would cook my pancakes on a section of griddle and clear it off as best as they could. I was here on vacation with my family recently. I have visited here before and the food was terrific. Prepare to wait for a few minutes because everyone loves this place.
