But it gives me thrills to wind you up Chicago Skillet (Corned Beef Hash, Swiss Cheese, and Sunny-Side Eggs over Hash Browns w/ sourdough

I remember Toby and I were having breakfast somewhere near Buffalo. I was explaining how there are just some type of breakfasts that I will always peek at on a menu. And it isn't omlettes or benedicts or even just two or three egg combos. It's skillets or hashes. I could have either and probably be okay, I said. She then asked me if I could make anything into a skillet or hash, And I reckon the answer is yes. Anything would be improved by making it into a skillet or hash. Case in point, I've had many two egg breakfasts with corned beef hash as the protein option. But you stick that same CBH on a skillet full of hash browns and eggs along with some Swiss cheese? Instantly better. The Chicago Skillet was both an experience and a delight that I did not expect. Usually I like a bit more veggies in my skillet. A bit of tomatoes, peppers, and onions goes a long way. But here every bite just needed that CBH and Swiss to send a delightful message from my mouth. The service was excellent. The server was on the ball and on my table with refills and requests like water and napkins really quickly. The amount of times I had to call him over for coffee was non-existent. Any time I wanted coffee, he was right there without being asked. The ambiance was good too. There was so much space and it had a good mix of tables and booths, as well as two wings. I felt relaxed and comfortable here, and that's all you want from a breakfast joint. You just somewhere nice to bliss out from your favorite skillets. I remember Toby at a later date asking me if I'd ever had the perfect hash or skillet. The Market of The Gods' Mountain Man Hash is the one I always point out. But I appreciate when places like Flappy Jacks dedicate an entire section of eight or nine examples to show you their commitment to the style of breakfast. I reckon that's what makes this the place with the best selection of them for sure. That makes them an Ace in my book.

Really big spacious diner setting with LARGE breakfasts. Check out this French toast filled with cream and check out this gluten free waffle. Waffle was amazing - it's hard to find gluten free and this was tasty - i had the Hawaiian.

It's been a while since I've been to Flappy Jack's, so I decided to come back by today with my daughter. It's super easy to spot from the 55 Frwy, but it's a bit tricky to find. In this case, GPS is your best friend:) We arrived close to noon and the parking lot was packed. We were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait and we were seated immediately. They were busy tho, so it took a little bit for the server to come take our order, but once our order was placed, she checked on us regularly and our coffee cups never got a chance to be empty. Since I recently discovered blintzes and I saw them on their menu, I *had* to try theirs. They have several fruit compote choices, including blueberry, which sounded perfect today. I also "made it a meal" by adding eggs & sausage to balance out the sweetness of the blintzes. The presentation of Flappy Jack's blintzes was different from the first ones I had, but these were quite impressive! Seven to 8 inches long and filled with a delicate cottage cheese mixture, the balance of savory and sweet was perfect. The addition of the eggs & sausage made this quite a hearty, satisfying meal. My daughter ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which came with choice of soup and a side. She chose the beef noodle soup, which she loved, and the chicken wrap was filled with chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and a tasty dressing. She also really enjoyed this wrap. One thing for Coke fans to be aware of, Pepsi is served here. But at l least the coffee is good! I plan on being back sooner rather than later to try more of their menu items.

Loved the food, the atmosphere is totally a diner classic. It even sits on the side of the highway such a classic diner feeling. All the food was good sized portions and delicious. Prices are reasonable and the service was good. We will be back when we crave diner vibes and food.

Flappy Jack's hands down has one of the best waffles. It's really hard for restaurants to make waffles crunchy the way I like it. It's always too thick and soft, or soggy with all the sauces all over it. But this place makes it perfectly crispy just like I ask. My BF also really loves his omelettes every single time. It looks thick and filled with all the goodies. The hashbrowns are also super crispy and delicious. I made a mistake of ordering the California Burger "medium well." It wasn't the best burger I've had but I guess it was on me for saying medium well (not sure why!) I don't recommend this. Try "medium" or "medium rare" if you order burgers. Morning crowds are always huge. Last time we waited about 30-40 minutes which isn't too terribly long. But this recent visit our food took 40 minutes which was the longest ever.

FLAPPY JAAACK's That's the call we made when someone in my family suggested we eat here. When my daughter went to school in Orange several years ago Flappy Jack's was part of our routine. My wife and I are back in Anaheim for a couple days and we HAD to make a stop here. The place is as good as ever. Yes, it's a kitschy diner, that's part of its charm. But the real reason to eat here is the huge and wonderful breakfast (and lunch) menu. I've eaten here umpteen times and have always had something different. Today it was the Banana Nut Waffles with sides of fruit and bacon. The waffle was delicious, crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy in the center. Well worth the short drive from MickeyLand. Flap-py Jacks! Flap-py Jacks! FlappyJacks!

My pancake was HUGE & fluffy yummy I also ordered Turkey Cobb Salad with low fat dressing delicious I don't think it needs black olives. Marie had West Coast Omelette she loved it. Such big portions we took home half of it. Service was great very attentive never had to wait for anything. Inside we sat by window looking at freeway which was pretty cool too.

Came here today for a late lunch before they closed. The food was amazing! The service was great! It's a nice small place with classic movie posters all over the wall. If you know me you know I love that kind of stuff! The food was amazing had banana pancakes and also the strawberry waffles which was truly amazing The service was great we got here a little before closing and they were able to seat us and take of us so really and truly thank you

Absolutely loved having brunch here with 2 of my work friends! Thank you to our sweet waitress Thalia and a few others who also helped us. The coffee was hot and delicious and kept refills coming. My Texas skillet was huge and delicious and my daughter loved the Monte Cristo and onion rings. Everyone went home with leftovers as well. We arrived fairly early and it was getting busy but we got right in. Thank you Flappy Jacks for a delicious brunch with friends!!

Always love this place! Wasn't super crowded today which was nice--there were actually spots available in the lot! Service is always wonderful! It was nice to meet my boss here and catch up while having our holiday gathering. The food was wonderful as always. My boss got the El Paso omelette and chocolate chip waffle. I went with the banana nut waffle and made it a combo with eggs and bacon. We left satisfied and with plenty of leftovers! Thank you, Flappy Jack's!

    Eggs and turkey sausage plate

I saw someone describe this as a "no frills" diner and yup that's accurate. Was recommended this breakfast joint by my coworker, so I decided to give it a try after work. Because I arrived at 8am on a random weekday, I didn't experience issues with parking or getting a table. The parking spots are small though. There are so many options on the menu, so I took a bit of time to decide on what to get. I ended up getting a classic eggs and turkey sausage plate, which was about $19. To be honest, the food came out and I was kinda regretting my order. It reminded me that I should've just gone home and cooked breakfast for way cheaper. The food was nothing special. The scrambled eggs weren't even fluffy. It kinda reminded me of cafeteria or hospital breakfast. I was also given my check while I was halfway into taking a bite of food and my plate was still full. I thought that was rude...

I used to go to the location in Glendora, CA all the time when it was there and I used to live in the IE. Now that I live in the OC and the other location is closed, this is now my go-to spot for that comfort food. Parking can be a bit tricky, and there can be a bit of a wait, so I do recommend either getting there earlier than you anticipated. Service is great, even when they're jammed packed, they are on top of all their tables, and you don't feel rushed. This place has that classic diner feel, the art, the homage to the classic actors, etc. It's homey and comfy for sure! I get different foods, on this day I got the biscuits and gravy, because that was the mood. Hit that with a bit of extra pepper, it hits the spot for sure! Hubby got a country skillet, and he was very happy with that, everything was cooked to perfection. Bonus! If you're a hot chocolate fan like I am, there are free refills on it! Wooo! So If you haven't been, once again, patience is a virtue, but it's totally worth it!

The food was mediocre although the service was great and they are very attentive. I don't think it's worth the wait for the food.

Flappy Jack's Pancake House Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Flappy Jack's Pancake House

    What is the parking situation?

There is a good-sized parking lot directly in front of Flappy Jack's. It can get quite full on weekends although I've never been unable to find a spot.

Does this location still have the old owners?

Yes! Our Orange location is still and always will be under the original ownership!

Are you open on Christmas Day?

    No they are closed

Does flappy jacks in Anaheim Hills take reservations?

    No it doesn't

Are dogs allowed for outside dining?

Not much sitting outside there is only like 2/3 tables but it looks like it should be fine.

Are you taking reservations for Mother's Day?

    Maybe

Do you guys have outside seating now?

Yes, they have a covered temporary patio set up for outdoor dining.

    Do they take RSVP?

    I don't think so.

Can I still order pickup from this location?

No. They are completely closed until further notice.

Any nutritional information on the food?

I don't think so. If they did, not many would order it. It's very rich and very good to the taste. Whenever you have that combination it's best not to know cause the calorie count and fat content you s off the charts.

Is there any vegan options? Yelp is saying they do but I'm not seeing anything.

My husband and I are vegan and love the Cali Skillet. We order with no cheese and the egg on the side which we give to our daughter. It's filling and yummy

Are they open on The 4th of July?

    4th

Is there a patio area so I can bring my dog?

    Sorry, no patio area

Do they have gluten free pancakes or waffles?

Yes they have a gluten-free menu including pancakes and waffles the only downside is the seating time could be as much as 30 to 40 minutes

Do they take reservations or do call ahead?

We had tried and they said no. But they sat our group of 10 in about 20 minutes on a very busy Saturday morning.

If I could rate this place five stars I would. Clean , quick service , great food. Unfortunately ,…read morethe prices knock down a star for me here , but it is worth it- if you order correctly. I came in here two weeks ago to place a to- go order since the wait time was over an hour. Shoutout to the hostess Sophia who was amazing! Very knowledgeable on the menu , friendly , happy , quick , and made me want to come back to see if the other employees were just as awesome! She helped me from start to finish deciding what to order , while also seating other parties so quickly . She taught us that we can join the waitlist online and skip a wait , and brought our coffee for us while we waited for food. Amazing service ! The food was so great I knew I had to come back for dine -in. Joined on Yelp while we were still at home , then checked in when we arrived. Was quoted twenty five minutes , sat in under twenty! Our waitress was quick and attentive , even when it looked like the new tables just kept coming in! The employees here seem great , however the prices are steep. Weather that's worth it or not depends! Thanks for a fantastic breakfast , pancake house!

This place absolutely blew me away. I got pumpkin pancakes with a ground beef skillet. The pancakes…read morewere perfect - they weren't too thick and they had an extra dash of cinnamon sugar that added some complexity to the dish. Sometimes you have to put in real work to cut pancakes with a fork and knife, but these ones were an ideal consistency. I loved the skillet as well: flavorful beef, savory eggs, and my server even suggested adding cheese. Speaking of my server-- Ray Y was absolutely seamless. My coffee cup was always full, he brought me extra cups of milk instead of me having to bug him for it, he brought extra napkins without me needing to ask, and he kept me up to date on how my food was coming along. I also enjoyed the wooden pillars in the center of the restaurant, it added a nice touch. Anyway, I had a great time. I'm not in Anaheim often, but now I have another reason to drop by.
