The Cinnamon Swirl French Toast was enough for me to take one bite, slam my utensils down, shut my eyes, and let out an aggressive "Mmmmmmm!!!" to the heavens. It was a Sunday morning so I expected there to be quite a line, which there was. Parking was pretty scarce and fortunately saw a car leaving just as I arrived. My party of two was immediately seated and helped. I ordered a boring grilled chicken sandwich with fries, but my date ordered the Cinnamon French Toast. Food came in about 10 minutes. Grilled Chicken Sandwich with fries- what is there to say? It's a grilled chicken sandwich and it has fries. Good enough for me, but I could have a chosen a more exciting dish. The Cinnamon Swirl French Toast was the highlight! Just the right amount of sweetness, the spongy toast melting right in your mouth, and the presentation was enough to make want to order more before even trying it. Sammy's Stackhouse is great, might even say it's worth duking it out in the parking lot for some of a parking spot over. read more

Came here as we were looking for local breakfast spots. The ambiance and building look kind of like an IHOP with a little more old school charm. However, the seats/booths are quite cramped and there's not a ton of room to move. The service was fast but the servers seemed stressed. There's a lot of work for a few employees. My husband asked if the waitress could take a family picture for us and she said she was too busy at the moment. The food included large portions and was pretty good. I got the raspberry blueberry pancakes which were delicious and my husband got an omelette which came with crispy hashbrowns. Plenty of parking out back as well! read more

The grilled onions are soft yet firm with a light caramelized sweetness. The bread was soft yet crispy in all the right places. If you like spicy order a side of grilled Serrano peppers which will definitely kick this awesome duo to the nexxxt level. We ordered a side of ranch and ketchup for double dipping decadence! We were going to order pancakes or a waffle but were stuffed from the fantastic flavorful fat patty melt. This will continue to be a good to spot. We came here on New Years Day 2026. Located right off of Tustin Ave in Orange with private parking. The restaurant is very clean with many booths. Staff is friendly. I ordered a hamburger with onion rings and my husband ordered the pancakes with strawberries and bananas with eggs, sausage and hash browns. The burger was large, flavorful and wasn't greasy. I especially liked the onion rings as they are Panko crust, light and also not greasy. The food was delicious, generous portions and great prices. Menu offers breakfast and lunch with so many options to choose from. They also offer beer and wine. Definitely recommend, will return! Great place for a meal! read more

I am always apprehensive to go into a little diner because you never know what type of environment it is or the quality of food you will be served. I was pleasantly surprised by Sammy's Stackhouse. A friend wanted to eat breakfast and chose that place. I went inside while waiting for my friend to arrive and was seated at a booth. I quickly noticed that everything was clean -- The syrup dispensers, the floor, the tables. The waitress was pleasant and brought my coffee right away. I ordered a senior breakfast with an egg, bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns, and pancake. It was delicious and huge. I highly recommend going for the old school vibe and retro music. Food was good, the appearance and ambiance is like any standard American breakfast joint. I would say the price is a little more affordable than some of the other breakfast places we frequent. We were seated on the smaller side of the restaurant where fewer parties had been seated and I think that means that the servers return to that side less often which can mean service is a little slower. We would have like a little more constant service we often had to flag someone down for ketchup, coffee and water top offs. I will say, the one thing I really liked was that the kids coloring sheets were all different and very interesting! Unfortunately they were out of crayons, but luckily I had brought my own. read more

I like the casual family atmosphere and variety in the menu. The countrybpotatoes were tasty as was the crispy bacon, chicken fried steak, and other items we ordered. However, the gluten free pancakes were terrible. I don't know if they changed the mix but it had a tough crust and dry interior and wasn't very tasty. Prior times I've visited the gluten free pancakes were good. Gluten free corn cakes would be a welcomed addition. They also made an error and 1 child in our party of 10 had to wait extra long for meal while others ate; they apologized but it would have been nice if they made some attempt to make up for that. read more

Came here because a TikTok video made it look good. We wouldn't come back. Maybe they got new cooks or had an off day but below is our review. The restaurant wasn't busy at 9am. We got a seat right away when walking through the door. The restaurant had a weird layout feeling squished and when you walk in the entrance felt like you were walking into their kitchen. Bathroom is suuper tiny too. Tables are real close where you feel you are dinning with the table next to you. Food didn't have much flavor and pancakes weren't cooked fully. Veggie omelette didn't taste fresh. Asked for extra plates and they were dirty and we had to send them back. Coffee wasn't anything special. Didn't get offered a refill until the entire meal was done. Much prefer iHop than Sammy's. read more

We arrived and put our name in and had to wait maybe 10min. On a Saturday morning, that isn't too bad. I ordered coffee and the pancake combo with bacon, hash browns and scrambled eggs. The pancakes were the nutella ones and I was excited to try them. The combo part of the meal was fine. As you'd expect from a breakfast house. The hasbrowns were almost as thick as a cake, but cooked through so I was impressed. The pancakes were a bit dry. My first bite was jarring without syrup. I had to add syrup so I was able to chew and swallow the pancakes. They were tasty, but dry. Overall, pretty standard breakfast place. Might return if we are in the area and don't feel like a long wait. read more

Stopped by this lovely little place while dropping my dog off at the vet. Walking in, I was immediately transported to an old fashioned diner from the decor to even the music that was playing. I absolutely adore old fashioned diner aesthetics so I was immediately hooked. Now the decor is one thing but how is the food and the service? Fantastic. My server (I believe her name was Espie) was very friendly and asked if I wanted coffee immediately after being seated. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the blueberry pancakes with eggs, sausage, and hash browns and was blown away. These blueberry pancakes make IHOP's pancakes look pathetic in comparison. All I can say is that if you're ever in the area and have a craving for some good pancakes and good coffee, give Sammy's Stackhouse a shot. I'll definitely have to try the chicken and waffles next time I go. read more

first off this place used to be an old ihop from (guessing) the 70s. but that's not the best part! it's absolutely frickin SPOTLESS. you know their staff is *working to keep it that clean, but they're super FRIENDLY! their gigantic portions are picture perfect; crispy & fluffy where it should be etc. everything was v fresh tasting. if you like diners, this is a good one. seriously though - the staff is awesome. read more

We were greeted at the door and seated right away.by Israel. We look over the menu ordered are drinks, then I ordered the Club sandwich on rye with fries well down, my husband ordered the Chicken Penne Pasta with a Caesar salad. My sandwich was excellent but the pasta dish the chicken was dry but other wise it was good. The restaurant was clean and look the pictures on the walls for the decor and they have music from the 50's play inside the restaurant. Israel was a great server, friendly and attentive. I had not been here since it left the IHOP franchise. I heard it was the same owner . The service was exceptional unfortunately my strawberry pancakes were terrible the canned stawberries were old and fermented tasteless the actual pancakes were delicious l sent them back just to pretty much get the same topping even though the server said it was from a different batch ( meaning different can). They need to fix that problem so many fresh fruits out there especially strawberries in June they are in season c'mon fellas serve something fresh! read more
