Planning is a must to get seating so get there BEFORE or AFTER peak hours. The quality of any restaurants is compared to the care of their bathrooms and Flappy Jacks has a regular cleaning schedule. The decor is fabulous and always something to talk about with statues to take pictures with and pictures on the wall of all the most famous from the golden era of Hollywood and TV. If you have the experience as I do, you can tell the quality of the food by its ham. Flappy's has low to zero salty ham making for a tender meat addition to its meals. The hosts and the servers are even keel in a very busy environment to the point you believe they are happy to have jobs and like each other. That's my observation folks. Don't be discouraged if it's too busy and the wait is uncomfortably longer than other restaurants, it speaks to the quality of the food and service! Flappy Jack's hands down has one of the best waffles. It's really hard for restaurants to make waffles crunchy the way I like it. It's always too thick and soft, or soggy with all the sauces all over it. But this place makes it perfectly crispy just like I ask. My BF also really loves his omelettes every single time. It looks thick and filled with all the goodies. The hashbrowns are also super crispy and delicious. I made a mistake of ordering the California Burger "medium well." It wasn't the best burger I've had but I guess it was on me for saying medium well (not sure why!) I don't recommend this. Try "medium" or "medium rare" if you order burgers. Morning crowds are always huge. Last time we waited about 30-40 minutes which isn't too terribly long. But this recent visit our food took 40 minutes which was the longest ever. read more

It's been a while since I've been to Flappy Jack's, so I decided to come back by today with my daughter. It's super easy to spot from the 55 Frwy, but it's a bit tricky to find. In this case, GPS is your best friend:) We arrived close to noon and the parking lot was packed. We were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait and we were seated immediately. They were busy tho, so it took a little bit for the server to come take our order, but once our order was placed, she checked on us regularly and our coffee cups never got a chance to be empty. Since I recently discovered blintzes and I saw them on their menu, I *had* to try theirs. They have several fruit compote choices, including blueberry, which sounded perfect today. I also "made it a meal" by adding eggs & sausage to balance out the sweetness of the blintzes. The presentation of Flappy Jack's blintzes was different from the first ones I had, but these were quite impressive! Seven to 8 inches long and filled with a delicate cottage cheese mixture, the balance of savory and sweet was perfect. The addition of the eggs & sausage made this quite a hearty, satisfying meal. My daughter ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which came with choice of soup and a side. She chose the beef noodle soup, which she loved, and the chicken wrap was filled with chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and a tasty dressing. She also really enjoyed this wrap. One thing for Coke fans to be aware of, Pepsi is served here. But at l least the coffee is good! I plan on being back sooner rather than later to try more of their menu items. read more

Parking was convenient since the restaurant has its own parking area along with additional nearby shopping center parking. The servings are huge, I can never finish a plate on my own and always end up taking leftovers home. I went over the weekend and tried the German Pancake, Stuffed French Toast, Burger, and West Coast Omelette.
