It's been a while since I've been to Flappy Jack's, so I decided to come back by today with my daughter. It's super easy to spot from the 55 Frwy, but it's a bit tricky to find. In this case, GPS is your best friend:) We arrived close to noon and the parking lot was packed. We were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait and we were seated immediately. They were busy tho, so it took a little bit for the server to come take our order, but once our order was placed, she checked on us regularly and our coffee cups never got a chance to be empty. Since I recently discovered blintzes and I saw them on their menu, I *had* to try theirs. They have several fruit compote choices, including blueberry, which sounded perfect today. I also "made it a meal" by adding eggs & sausage to balance out the sweetness of the blintzes. The presentation of Flappy Jack's blintzes was different from the first ones I had, but these were quite impressive! Seven to 8 inches long and filled with a delicate cottage cheese mixture, the balance of savory and sweet was perfect. The addition of the eggs & sausage made this quite a hearty, satisfying meal. My daughter ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which came with choice of soup and a side. She chose the beef noodle soup, which she loved, and the chicken wrap was filled with chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and a tasty dressing. She also really enjoyed this wrap. One thing for Coke fans to be aware of, Pepsi is served here. But at l least the coffee is good! I plan on being back sooner rather than later to try more of their menu items.

My pancake was HUGE & fluffy yummy I also ordered Turkey Cobb Salad with low fat dressing delicious I don't think it needs black olives. Marie had West Coast Omelette she loved it. Such big portions we took home half of it. Service was great very attentive never had to wait for anything. Inside we sat by window looking at freeway which was pretty cool too.

Absolutely loved having brunch here with 2 of my work friends! Thank you to our sweet waitress Thalia and a few others who also helped us. The coffee was hot and delicious and kept refills coming. My Texas skillet was huge and delicious and my daughter loved the Monte Cristo and onion rings. Everyone went home with leftovers as well. We arrived fairly early and it was getting busy but we got right in. Thank you Flappy Jacks for a delicious brunch with friends!!

Can get crowded, but staff does a good job of getting your orders quick. Each dish is very filling and was pretty good overall. First time here and was surprised on the extensive menu. The pancakes were very fluffy and liked the fact that the syrup was warm

Came here today for a late lunch before they closed. The food was amazing! The service was great! It's a nice small place with classic movie posters all over the wall. If you know me you know I love that kind of stuff! The food was amazing had banana pancakes and also the strawberry waffles which was truly amazing The service was great we got here a little before closing and they were able to seat us and take of us so really and truly thank you

This is a waffle with blueberries and a side of rash browns.

The ambience was very family oriented and the service was great and prompt. Food was delicious. Coffee was just right and loved how we kept getting refills constantly.

Perched up on a hill overlooking the 55 Freeway, Flappy Jack's is a diner loaded with 50's nostalgia and packed full of people enjoying huge breakfasts. And I'm one of those people. It's a huge menu with something for everyone. I enjoy the omelets, the polish sausage and eggs, and ordering pancakes instead of toast -- it's an option with no upcharge -- brings a huge fluffy pancake to enjoy along with your savory meal. There is a page of crepes and many gluten-free pancakes available, so this is a favorite of friends who are gluten-sensitive. I hear the burgers and sandwiches are good (that's what my husband gets) but when there are this many delicious breakfast options, why get a burger? FYI: parking can be a total pain on the weekends and the wait can be long. But the servers are lightning fast, so people are constantly being seated, which helps.

Always love this place! Wasn't super crowded today which was nice--there were actually spots available in the lot! Service is always wonderful! It was nice to meet my boss here and catch up while having our holiday gathering. The food was wonderful as always. My boss got the El Paso omelette and chocolate chip waffle. I went with the banana nut waffle and made it a combo with eggs and bacon. We left satisfied and with plenty of leftovers! Thank you, Flappy Jack's!

FLAPPY JAAACK's That's the call we made when someone in my family suggested we eat here. When my daughter went to school in Orange several years ago Flappy Jack's was part of our routine. My wife and I are back in Anaheim for a couple days and we HAD to make a stop here. The place is as good as ever. Yes, it's a kitschy diner, that's part of its charm. But the real reason to eat here is the huge and wonderful breakfast (and lunch) menu. I've eaten here umpteen times and have always had something different. Today it was the Banana Nut Waffles with sides of fruit and bacon. The waffle was delicious, crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy in the center. Well worth the short drive from MickeyLand. Flap-py Jacks! Flap-py Jacks! FlappyJacks!

I saw someone describe this as a "no frills" diner and yup that's accurate. Was recommended this breakfast joint by my coworker, so I decided to give it a try after work. Because I arrived at 8am on a random weekday, I didn't experience issues with parking or getting a table. The parking spots are small though. There are so many options on the menu, so I took a bit of time to decide on what to get. I ended up getting a classic eggs and turkey sausage plate, which was about $19. To be honest, the food came out and I was kinda regretting my order. It reminded me that I should've just gone home and cooked breakfast for way cheaper. The food was nothing special. The scrambled eggs weren't even fluffy. It kinda reminded me of cafeteria or hospital breakfast. I was also given my check while I was halfway into taking a bite of food and my plate was still full. I thought that was rude...

I used to go to the location in Glendora, CA all the time when it was there and I used to live in the IE. Now that I live in the OC and the other location is closed, this is now my go-to spot for that comfort food. Parking can be a bit tricky, and there can be a bit of a wait, so I do recommend either getting there earlier than you anticipated. Service is great, even when they're jammed packed, they are on top of all their tables, and you don't feel rushed. This place has that classic diner feel, the art, the homage to the classic actors, etc. It's homey and comfy for sure! I get different foods, on this day I got the biscuits and gravy, because that was the mood. Hit that with a bit of extra pepper, it hits the spot for sure! Hubby got a country skillet, and he was very happy with that, everything was cooked to perfection. Bonus! If you're a hot chocolate fan like I am, there are free refills on it! Wooo! So If you haven't been, once again, patience is a virtue, but it's totally worth it!

Food is excellent! I ordered the bacon pancakes. My husband had the biscuits and gravy. We both loved our breakfast! The pancakes were incredibly fluffy and the bacon was extra crispy. The sweet butter and salty bacon is just out of this world! I can't wait to come back! Only thing missing is a mimosa. Service is good. They keep your coffee cup full!

Hello Fellow Yelpers Tried a new breakfast spot today. All I can say is WOW. The place is hidden next to a Chevron station on a very small street. Parking is a bit tricky, but doable. I was told this place is packed on the weekends. They have the best coffee and fluffiest pancakes I have had. Show them some love and stop by and grab some yummy food Shout out to the great wait staff Remember to do random acts of kindness as it will make everyone feel wonderful Happy Yelping and follow me for more awesome reviews .

Ask the Community - Flappy Jack's Pancake House

    What is the parking situation?

There is a good-sized parking lot directly in front of Flappy Jack's. It can get quite full on weekends although I've never been unable to find a spot.

Does this location still have the old owners?

Yes! Our Orange location is still and always will be under the original ownership!

Are you open on Christmas Day?

    No they are closed

Does flappy jacks in Anaheim Hills take reservations?

    No it doesn't

Are dogs allowed for outside dining?

Not much sitting outside there is only like 2/3 tables but it looks like it should be fine.

Are you taking reservations for Mother's Day?

    Maybe

Do you guys have outside seating now?

Yes, they have a covered temporary patio set up for outdoor dining.

    Do they take RSVP?

    I don't think so.

Can I still order pickup from this location?

No. They are completely closed until further notice.

Any nutritional information on the food?

I don't think so. If they did, not many would order it. It's very rich and very good to the taste. Whenever you have that combination it's best not to know cause the calorie count and fat content you s off the charts.

Is there any vegan options? Yelp is saying they do but I'm not seeing anything.

My husband and I are vegan and love the Cali Skillet. We order with no cheese and the egg on the side which we give to our daughter. It's filling and yummy

Are they open on The 4th of July?

    4th

Is there a patio area so I can bring my dog?

    Sorry, no patio area

Do they have gluten free pancakes or waffles?

Yes they have a gluten-free menu including pancakes and waffles the only downside is the seating time could be as much as 30 to 40 minutes

Do they take reservations or do call ahead?

We had tried and they said no. But they sat our group of 10 in about 20 minutes on a very busy Saturday morning.

I have to admit that the Aussie style breakfast is along with different twist on certain things that you wouldn't typically have for breakfast or initially caught my eye. I started off with the golden latte. It was a beautifully balanced turmeric latte with almond milk with a perfect amount of sweetness. Not only was it gut healing, but it's super warming on a chilly morning. While I was looking over the menu, I was between the breakfast burrito since everybody was ordering it or the soft scramble with chili oil. I landed on the soft scrambled chili crunch. It was served with a half avocado and rye toast the others in our party ordered pancakes, bacon, a chicken sandwich and a Yuzu drink. Everything came out in a timely manner and beautifully plated. I absolutely loved the soft scramble on Rye. It was a perfect serving size as well as hitting the spot for a not so traditional breakfast. As we're sitting there, I noticed everybody was ordering the lemon ricotta pancakes, so I could not resist and ordered some as well. I will say the most underwhelming part of that was the lemon ricotta pancakes due to the ratios for the pancake pancakes and lemon ricotta. Overall, my experience was spectacular. I cannot wait to go back to Bluestone Lane to try other menu items.

Unfortunately, the service started well, but after taking our order, we never saw our server again...as this is a small place, I'm going to assume there was some miscommunication among the staff. I also visit the Chapman Avenue location in Orange because it's close to home. The food has consistently been excellent -- great pancakes, outstanding bacon, and truly exceptional fresh orange juice. The quality of the ingredients has never been in question. What has become a problem is the price. Breakfast has traditionally been the most affordable meal of the day, yet the cost here now rivals what I would spend taking my entire family out to a nice dinner. When you're charging premium prices, the service and environment should match that standard. Unfortunately, our recent visit to the Orange location was extremely disappointing. We stood at the podium for several minutes without being greeted. Multiple servers walked past us, made eye contact, and said nothing -- not even a simple "We'll be right with you." Meanwhile, a young employee was casually chatting with a coworker at the bus station, clearly more focused on small talk than on guests waiting to be seated. When our server finally approached the table, he leaned against our booth as if he couldn't be bothered to stand upright and delivered a rushed, mumbled line that sounded like one long word: "coffeejuicewaterorsomethingtodrink." No greeting, no introduction, no courtesy. We gave our coffee order, and he walked away without acknowledging us. The service continued in the same tone. Drinks were dropped off with visible annoyance. When my wife accidentally over‑sweetened her coffee and politely asked for a fresh cup, the server took the mug without a word and returned several minutes later looking irritated. She said "Thank you," and he ignored her. She repeated it louder, and he still walked away without responding. It's hard to overstate how disrespectful and apathetic the staff felt during this visit. When servers behave this way, it reflects directly on management. The attitude, the lack of basic courtesy, and the sense that guests are an inconvenience -- it all points to a culture that has gone unchecked for far too long. On top of that, the restaurant itself shows clear signs of deferred maintenance. Worn surfaces, dirty areas, and general neglect do not inspire confidence about what the kitchen might look like behind the scenes. We left feeling disappointed and honestly a bit sad. This used to be a place we loved. With prices this high, guests should receive warm, attentive service and a clean, well‑maintained environment -- not indifference and irritation.

The young female cashier was considerate and thoughtful, given that it was our first time. They have many options on their menu!
