Okay, here we, today my wife and I decided to eat lunch out again for the 5th straight day...made a mistake and went to Flakey Jacks...first of all you cant get near this place on the weekends, but weekdays are doable.....I have yelped this place before over two years ago, I have been back there twice since then and I don't know why I went back today. Wife and I both ordered Tuna Melts...waiter would not let us substitute fries for potato salad...cheese want not melted on sandwich, a sliver of a pickle, copious amount of French fries, on both plates, we should have gotten soup instead of the dastardly dangerous French fries...none the less, a $12 each fiasco at yet another eating establishment in the City of Orange...so far the last week or so, Johnny Rebs gets rubbed off our list for good, they don't have a an item under $14 dollars on their new menu, we just walked out last week, and since Tulsa moved its changed...Tuttu Fresco, all of a sudden went from a nice 10 to 12 oz piece of salmon to a puny little 4 oz steak but extra pasta...what is going on??? We still like Conca, El Chef Taco, Lanta, Genovese, Renata's, and a few others I wont take time to mention....we have a second home in Palm Springs and eat every meal out when we are there and its very difficult to find a bad meal almost anywhere in the valley..... read more

FLAPPY'S FLOPPED! :( I rated it low (negatives) for a few reasons: 1. Parking is an absolute nightmare. Not enough spots and they are really close together, poorly laid out lot. 2.The wait was longer than we were told by almost 20 minutes 3. Very noisy, difficult to have a conversation 4. Service was slow, slow in taking our order, slow in bringing the food and the check and we had to keep asking for hot water and refills. SLOW! 4. TOO much food :( When I go out for breakfast I want one meal, not two. I don't like reheated breakfast. Yuck and I don't like paying for portion that are too large. It would be nice if they served 1/2portions for a reduced cost for lighter eaters. Something for everyone?? 5. They close at 3:00 p.m. So much for breakfast for dinner or an early am breakfast like you can get at Denny's right around the corner. 6. Princes $$$ Too much for all of the negatives listed below. Pluses: Food was good, interesting choices- but I can still get all of these choices at other places without as many of the negatives listed above. Sorry, Flappy's Flopped! I have to AGREE with Marcos R. My server was great. However, my apple pancake was SUGAR cinnamon FLAVOR WITH MYSTERY apples NOT tasting AT ALL like Granny Smith as advertised. Sliced sooo thin I could not taste them. For out the door price of 16.00 I should have had my own WHOLE apple. But instead I had slivers of apple spread thinly over this "pancake" that tasted exactly like the formula used in the bland cherry crepes. These crepes were like custard and pancakes mixed up without any flavor except for sugar and cinnamon still bordering on bland. The cherry crapes had great cherries but menu said cherries in a special sauce. (Yea just like a soupy version of canned cherry pie filling) The crapes which came with the soupy like pie filling MUST have been made from the same batter as the apple pancakes. BLAND BLAND EGG LIKE BATTER. PERIOD So much egg that I thought it was a bland bland omlet. I sent the Crapes back and took the 3/4 of the "granny smith sliver pancake with me to doctor it up at home with my own 1.00 organic apple. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

Earthlings, I had the opportunity to visit Flappy Jacks Pancake House and I must say, I was a little disappointed by the pancakes. While many Earthlings seem to rave about the pancakes at Flappy Jacks, I found them to be a little overrated. While they were certainly tasty, they didn't quite live up to the hype that I had heard. The pancakes were a bit on the dry side, and I found myself wishing for a little more flavor or texture That being said, the restaurant itself was pleasant enough. The service was good and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I appreciated the variety of pancake toppings and the ability to customize my order, but unfortunately the actual pancakes themselves fell a bit short for me, Overall, while Flappy Jacks Pancake House was a decent enough dining experience, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to recommend it for the pancakes alone. I think there are other pancake houses on this planet that offer a more satisfying pancake experience. read more

We had such a wonderful experience at Flappy Jack's, and I truly felt compelled to share it. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond--but especially Alex and his staff, who made a lasting impression on our family. Our son uses a wheelchair and has a difficult time being indoors for extended periods. Even though Flappy Jack's doesn't typically offer outdoor seating, Alex didn't hesitate for a second. He and his team kindly arranged a table for us right outside so our son could be comfortable and still enjoy the experience with all of us. That level of care, compassion, and willingness to accommodate truly meant everything to us. It wasn't just about great service--it was about genuine kindness and making our family feel seen and welcomed. Moments like this are rare and unforgettable. I ordered the flame-grilled tri-tip (yes, tri-tip for breakfast!), and it was cooked to perfection with a perfect sear. The eggs were exceptional, clearly made from real cracked eggs, adding a fresh touch to the meal. The French toast was incredibly tasty, and the small stack of pancakes didn't disappoint either--no breakfast spot can claim the title without good pancakes, and Flappy Jacks delivered. Parking was a breeze, and although the outdoor waiting area was packed, the quoted 15-minute wait time turned out to be only 5 minutes. Ok this is awesome!! Great pancakes and a pokestop! I'll be the first one to admit I've made food choices off what places have pokestops or not. I can take my time and get the stop every 5 min while eating!? Why not? The coffee is alright. But you're here for the pancakes. Order a side of bacon and sausage and cover them in maple syrup!! Omg yum! By far the best pancakes I've had in SoCal so far. And my waist shows I've eaten way too many the past few weeks! Get ready Yelp for me to update you with the past four weeks of my life!! Veronica the general manager in Orange location. This woman has no clue regarding customer service. I think she failed that class. My family has been coming here for years and today we returned a food item and were told that's how it is, and basically why would they correct our food just for us ? She was aggressive and got into my face. Threatened to "86" me instead of being a normal customer service oriented person and saying " no problem I will fix it for you " .. I think daddy didn't love her enough.. we come regularly for last 5 years and have referred family and friends and this is how she treats a longtime customer .. I've been hearing about this place .As we arrive a little before 9 am and the place was packed . A line outside but that didn't stop us we go in and the place was very busy. Waiting period was great,we were in a booth fairly quickly. The food was hot was delicious made upon order.Food portions where huge ! Atmosphere was good not to loud, The service was Ok, I understand that the waiteress and waiters are so busy but have time to refill Ur drinks. Overall I loved the place I recommend it to all at least once . No matter what to u go it will be packed if u with someone I recommend one get off to check in while the other looks for parking. read more

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but there arent many great breakfast places around. Flappy Jacks is one of the better breakfast places in the neighborhood. The portions are great, food comes out fast and they have a robust menu. Their skillets are my personal favorite but they have a pretty insane array of pancake options that you can even get as a side...with your skillets. :D you wont be disappointed. Take your pickiest eaters and youll still find something they will enjoy. Parking can get a little competitive. There is a lot behind the gas station that will save you headche as long as your down for a little walking. read more

OMG I was so lucky I found this hidden gem I can't explain how much I love pancakes I sometimes get called the pancake girl lol. I loved their pancakes they were delicious and well prepared. And there is not only pancakes but a lot of other choices for breakfast which will make you carve for it all the time. nice staff providing a good service and the ambiance was nice as well and accommodating. This place is amazing! The service is pretty quick considering how busy they always are. However, they try to seat you as quickly as possible. The food portionings are pretty big so if you don't have a big appetite then you should probably share with someone. The only reason why I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because of the parking. It can get really bad sometimes because of how busy it gets and the parking lot is so small. sometimes you will spend more time looking for parking than waiting. Went here a few days ago and was very satisfied. Arrived around 11:30 and had a hard time finding a parking space. Was with a group of 8 and some of us got breakfast and the rest lunch. We were all happy with the portions and the quality. The prices and service was excellent. Loved the retro fifties look and music. When I left around 1:30 there was plenty of parking. If you come to Flappy Jack's, you absolutely have to get the hash browns--they are fried to absolute perfection and super crispy, just the way they should be! I also ordered their massive crepe-style pancakes and they brought out a huge plate that basically took over the entire table. Haha! Finally tried this place out with my bf a few days ago on the way to Kaiser. I'm a huge fan of good breakfast spots and WOW we absolutely loved this place.
