I went searching and found Flash Fitness last December and never looked back. The machines got major overhauls, there is more than enough space to find something to do even when it is busy. DO NOT SIGN UP THE MAKE IT LITERAL HELL TO CANCEL. WAS a decent gym. Has gotten worse under whoever bought the brand from Blink. The biggest issue I have with FLASH is that they illegally use cancellation tactics and roadblocks to make it almost impossible to cancel the membership. What's really frustrating with this place is the level of inconsiderate people who go here. I don't understand why some people are allowed to listen to their music and watch videos on full volume without headphones. There are people recording their workout and taking up time on machines. There are people taking speakerphone calls for an extended amount of time. And there are typically 3-5 people gathered around a machine loudly talking and not respecting the time of others around them. If they want to be social then they should go elsewhere so we can conduct our workouts in peace. What drives me crazy about this gym is they allow everybody to sit on the machines on their cell phones when other people are trying to use them and the other members could care less if you are trying to get in there. They should put signs up saying no cell phone use while using machines I've seen other gyms do this It's very frustrating. Also not to mention people walking around the gym with no proper footwear and just socks on, I mean really you don't know who has athlete's foot foot fungus or any of those things they allow people to walk around with just their socks on It's crazy I never saw a gym like this. read more

I joined this gym because it seemed clean and generally friendly and appeared to be a good low cost alternative. I even found a trainer I liked working with. But the staff and management didn't seem to like my trainer, at one point trying to trap him and threaten him into confessing to something that he didn't do. Of course he got smart and got out. Then I downscaled my membership, which took three staff members and a manager to try and navigate. They ended up having to bill me twice in one month to make that happen. They were generally rude about the whole exchange. The phrase "You have to come in" became routine, even though my life does not revolve around the gym. It was twice a week because of my job, and I had to scale back to once a week for the same reason. No, they insisted. I had to come in. Then I got another trainer, who was pretty good, though without the fitness background of the first one, and I thought this would be fine for once a week. We got along well, and still get along well. Then I moved, and the staff, the assistant manager, and the manager could not understand how to work their own website to help me cancel my membership. While on hold, I managed to find what I needed, and discovered that I was to incur another bill for leaving. The corporate site even wanted me to provide evidence that I had actually moved. Two employees were perfectly rude about that as well, and the second one all but hung up on me. A couple recommendations for the corporate office and the Medford branch: 1. Train the staff on customer service. Repeatedly. This isn't a one and done thing. 2. Train your staff on front desk technologies and website operations. Repeatedly. This isn't ... This is one of the cleanest gyms I've ever been to. People here definitely take their workouts seriously, but it's not in an intimidating way - just inspirational if that makes sense. Overall, an awesome gym with great equipment, people & EXCELLENT trainers. Personally, I worked with Joe who helped me lose 6% body fat and gain in muscle over the course of several weeks and I haven't looked or felt better in a LONG time. His programs are SO thoughtful, he helped me work muscles I never knew existed & pushed me to be my best. This gym is great! Very clean, friendly staff. But recently, the gym is way overcrowded esp. in the evening! Maybe this is because Work Out World's Medford location closed last summer. This gym should at least open until 11 PM. Three stars for not being able to find a single squat rack, or bench for thirty mins. Other than that there are no complaints. Not a single one! read more

After an absolutely horrible experience at LA fitness just yesterday, this Blink Fitness experience was much needed. We signed up for the free trial online after calling into the store and we got set up in minutes. The check in process at the club was easy and Mike was great. The club was very clean and well kept. All the equipment worked great and the locker rooms were very clean. We were just here for a day so not signing up, but it was a great experience. For the price you can sign up for a membership you get a heck of a lot more value than you pay. There are no extra sport facilities but for cardio and lifting this place is a great deal. I will definitely keep this place in mind in the future if I find another location somewhere around the country. Thank you Blink team for a great experience! read more

I have always meant to write this review - but today after having a rather unpleasant experience with another gym I decided that my procrastination is doing a disservice to this great gym. How do I put this - I have trained at multiple gyms and Blink Medford is just the perfect gym. It is clean, well-lit, incredibly well managed, and have all the equipment for serious weightlifters as well as the average Joe. For the weightlifting/powerlifting population - they have different types of barbells for different types of lifts: different knurls to accommodate different types of frictions, different whips, and weight levels (for females). They also have bumper plates. These are the types of minute details that show you how thoughtful the management is. Chalks are not allowed - I used chalks for a couple of months and a staff came to me (friendly) that chalks are hard to clean and I had to think of other ways. Thus I stopped using chalks. Everybody was friendly. They have plenty of cardio/weight machines for people who have different training routines. No classes though - but for this price, who cares? Cancellation was simple - a staff asked me casually why I wanted to cancel (I moved) and that was it. Also, during the pandemic, they were one of the few gyms that PROACTIVELY froze the membership. I was never overcharged for a single day. They also put plastic screens between equipment so that people can have more social distancing (for those who care). They also enforce mask rules very stringently - I was warned a couple of times for pulling down my mask to allow some nostril airway while lifting. It was not easy complying with the rules - but I respect them and they always communicated in professional ways. Kudos to this management - thank you for running the PERFECT gym. read more

The actual equipment is fine. The staff are all friendly, but holy hell. They need to enforce a time limit on equipment or something. People will occupy a squat rack or bench for, no exaggeration, 30-40 minutes during peak hours. The wipes are also empty half the time. Bathrooms are eh. I was a member for several months at Blink Fitness in Medford, and had a good experience all around. I'd recommend them to anyone in the area, and I'd rejoin them in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose. Facilities: It's a pretty new gym with new, clean equipment everywhere (as of mid 2022). It would be too long and tedious to list everything they have, but they had every equipment I've ever seen at other gyms and then a few more - for context I've been training for 7 years now and have been a member of 3 gyms prior. They certainly had everything I needed for strength and cardio training, and I'd expect the vast majority of people would be satisfied with the gear selection here. Few things that stood out to me were their deadlift zones and ABUNDANCE of benches and squat stations. If you're not sure they have the specific equipment or space for your training, you can always call or visit them and check things out for yourself. Service: The staff was always friendly and the gym was always in good, clean order. They have a meter on their website that tells you how much capacity they are at, which I used to avoid peak hours. For me personally, 50% capacity meant you might have to wait to use some equipment, especially if it's more niche. I had to leave Blink Fitness because of unique circumstances outside my control and I was able to work out a cancellation that made mutual sense for everyone - I really appreciated their understanding and flexibility in this regard. Value: For the quality of the gym you get, I really can't understate how good the value is. Other gyms in the area are charging no less than $50/month and I'd say that Blink Fitness blows them out of the water at a fraction of the price. read more

After visiting almost all gyms around I can see how Blink is doing an outstanding job. They are %100 enforcing masks. Everyone is covering their noses, gyms like Crunch never do that. Blink is extremely CLEAN well managed, employees are super nice and professional. Always greeting with a big smile. Machines are in great condition, repairs are made almost immediately. I started going to Blink Fitness in Medford, MA shortly after it opened in 2019. I actually really enjoyed the facility and all of the people that worked there were nice. It was inexpensive and had everything I needed, so I was happy with the gym. It was good value and I wish I could give them a 5 star review, but then they did the classic gym scumbag move.... Since March 2020, I have not been to the gym because there has been a global pandemic. I noticed that they were charging my card this month (December 2020). I called to cancel my membership and they won't do it. They say I need to physically come in to cancel. I can't do that because I have been forced to move. So they say my only other option is to send them a letter in the mail. I ask why they need the letter and what they need to have in it. They said they just need my name and number to call me back so I can cancel. I am currently on the phone with them wanting to cancel. The woman I spoke to was very nice, but that the policy that is so incredibly frustrating and just there so they can keep taking my money when I can't even use their service. Why do gyms have to be like this? Stop being scumbags and just let me cancel my membership. If you weren't scumbags I would be happy to give you a good review, but because you are putting up arbitrary barriers so you can keep taking my money, I can't do that. It would be a great gym if it wasn't insanely packed at any time other than normal work hours. You cannot get a single piece of equipment past 5:30pm on a weekday. How are they allowed to have this many people at their gym it's insane. I use this gym through gym pass but I can't imagine committing to a membership here only for it to be an actual war zone to get a bench/squat rack/ treadmill/ ANYTHING. Impressed! First, shout out to the best personal trainer Erica. She was welcoming, educated and encouraging. Interpersonal skills matter to me since I work with people too. She answered all of my questions, gave me honest feedback and was actually down for my crazy goal. Now, front desk- awesome! Attentive too Facilities- sparking clean and didn't smell like a sock. They gym is up to date on technology even having a touch screen dispenser for locks and lady products in the locker room The locker room is actually clean! It also has showers which is HUGE ! The membership is affordable and I won't have to do back flips if I need to change something. Definitely give blink fitness and Erica a try! This gym is a great alternative to Planet fitness if you live in the Medford area. The $22/mo membership (not including the yearly annual fee) allows you to bring a guest along for free. The equipment is new and the gym is quite clean and no weird smells. There is a large variety of equipment including free weights! It is usually not that crowded during the nights (after 8pm) when I go. They have lockers for you to store your things ( bring a lock). The only downside is that there is no towel service, so bring your own towels. I would give it a visit and try if you are considering looking for a new gym- I think you're able to do a free trial prior to committing. read more

I've been coming here since they opened from BSC and love it! Below are the reasons why: -great value...it's about $20/month for the basic membership if you include the annual fee. Not bad at all if you go frequently! -all equipment is working (I hated it at BSC when the machines weren't working) -new equipment, clean, never waiting for a machine to be free -a variety of weights, machines, and workout material -gym staff are alwayssss friendly (they always say hi and bye with a positive attitude!) -gym staff are cleaning! It's so nice and refreshing to see because I know some guests don't clean up after themselves!! -the stretching area is pretty big and you never have to wait for ppl to move, there's always room for one more! -locker room area is always stocked and clean! -plenty of parking! If you need a snack, you can always go to Walgreens or target for a banana! So happy that this place decided on this location :)! read more

Predatory and deceptive business practices. Basically, they will bilk you for as much money as possible, with a "annual maintenance fee" after your first month, and a non-negotiable "pro-rated cancellation fee" at the end. Sign up for the gym for a couple of months will cost you hundreds of dollars. And you get to pay all of this for . . . nothing special. Three stars, nothing more nothing less. Even when the gym is least crowded, machines, etc. always have a waiting time. This location has a ton of cardio equipment that never gets used even during peak hours. So if cardio is your thing this place is for you. The excessive cardio space could be used for more equipment. Example, one Hammer Strength press machine which is very popular at all gyms, always a wait. Squat racks...always a wait. Leg extensions or leg curls...you guesses it, always a wait. If you ever think about doing a superset, don't, it's impossible even at slower times. I go here because it's close to home but if you're serious about training or follow a program you will have nothing but frustration. Folks on phones between sets like most gyms nowadays add to the frustration. I like to get in and out and every day is an adventure so have a back up training plan. I'm glad they're busy but will be looking elsewhere as I progress. Also, the Mexican music is absolutely awful and always playing so wear headphones. On the positive they keep the place really clean and folks have the decency to re-rack weights. Also, the sanitizing wipes are better than the spray bottle method of most gyms. 30 year gym-goer here so I've seen it all. read more

I was looking forward to this gym opening because of how affordable it was when I lived in Manhattan. My fear was that it would be swarmed during its first few weeks and that the staff, like other gyms, would push their personal services on me and treat me like they want me to buy into an infomercial. I just want to go, work out on my own, and leave. A lady staff member gave me a quick 5 minute tour, was very polite and not overbearing at all. It took 2 minutes to sign up and that was it. 15 dollars a month for unlimited use at their gym with no commitment? Amazing. There is a 3 month maintenance fee of 45 dollars, but that's nothing compared to what I'm gonna save every month. The machines are new and sparkling, the place is huge and there's lots of options. Machines are spread out so there's plenty of space between everyone. No shortage of equipment. It's not very crowded there right now, so I hope they stay around and I hope it stays this great. read more

I'm appalled that Blink changed their membership pricing structure in the middle of a pandemic. Lowering the gym membership fees to incentivize growing numbers at a facility that should be limiting capacity is unconscionable. Not to mention that there was no offer to long-standing members to switch to the less expensive option. Meanwhile, they raised their hidden maintenance fee, so the savings are not as much as they appear. This is a blatant marketing ploy to pack their gym, at a time when no indoor space should be packed. Unacceptable and immoral. If Blink needs to change their pricing structure to balance the budget, they should raise prices to de-incentivize overcrowding. People who really want the luxury of a gym would pay extra, and the rest would be fine with at home solutions. The gym is starting to resemble the Planet Fitness in Wellington that I left due to over crowding--and that was before it was a major safety concern! As a related issue, this Gym is unsurprisingly overcrowded during a PANDEMIC. I'm sure they are following the building capacity mandates, but this is a large space which allows for a high capacity limit and all the members are concentrated into the back corner with the free weights. Gym members are NOT following social distancing rules nor are they consistent about having their masks cover their nose. Additionally, the limited operation hours further concentrates members, when they should be aiming to spread them out. read more

For many reasons I decided to cancel my membership here. Its WAY too overcrowded and a ton of the members that go there hog machines for like 10 sets just to pass it off to another roid head buddy of theirs. There is always at least 1 person who smells awful and the gym stinks. Not to mention they close at 7pm on weekends which they will not let you forget about. The people will approach you at 7:00pm on the dot telling you to wrap it up if you don't leave right then and there they will come back to a select few people while others finish their running on the treadmill? The employees there haven't given me too much trouble but would it kill them to wear anything but sweats to work? This place used to be so good, especially during the pandemic. read more

Overall no real complaints but could you guys please consider extending your weekly hours to 11pm? 10 is too early.. by the time I get out of work and head there I'm lucky to get an hour to fit everything in. This place is great for most gym goers. New equipment, has a friendly welcoming staff, and the accommodations in the locker rooms are a plus (just take a look at their fancy shmancy dryers). There's 3 squat racks, 2 benches (I believe), and one incline bench so it's great for those who want to focus on the big 3 but also has plenty of free weights for dumbbell work, plenty of treadmills, Hammer Strength machines, and a small but convenient area to stretch or do cardio. On top of that, they have thick ropes for cardio and plenty of pull up bars. Plans are fairly priced and they have an app you can use to sign in. Like I said before, it's a good overall gym for most gym-goers but I will say for advanced lifters or those focusing mostly on powerlifting, you might want to look into another gym as the deadlift area only goes up to 225 lbs for the 45lbs rubber plates at the time of this review (it might increase in the future). I came into this gym for a trial with my fiance. We were warmly greeted by Mark the sales manager. Mark gave us and extended tour and answered all of our questions. We were very weary about joining due to terrible experiences that we had with abc billing and golds gym. Mark went over the contracts with us and clarified any confusion. We ended up joining the gym because of the friendly staff, new equipment, and distance from our home. So far our experience has been great. Only big warning would be the gym can be pretty crowded if you work out around 5pm daily. read more

Always impressed at how kind and professional the staff is, I hope corporate is taking care of them $! As for the gym, kept very clean and has strict covid protocols which I love.
