We came to Old Time Photos for a shoot, because my girlfriend has been wanting to get one for awhile, finally decided to give it a try. Once in a lifetime experience, why not since we're visiting from out of town. When we went, it was during somewhat off season. Not TOO crowded, but there was still quite a few people ahead of us. Photo Theme options are almost limitless. We decided to go with "Old Time Gangster" Wardrobes for us were very easy to put on, basically shirts that's been cut open and close using Velcros. So I didn't need to change any of my clothes at well (would recommend laundry after the photo shoot), who knows how many times the clothes has been worn or how many times it's been washed. Staffs are generally pretty friendly. Photo shoot process only took few minutes. You honestly spend more time at the cashier booth looking at and deciding which photo you want to keep. For the based price, you get 1-2 copies. *WARNING* There will be a lot of upselling (Different types of copies, prints, and frames..etc). Fortunately we didn't need to buy any extra, we just wanted 2 simple copies and use our own photo frame, because it can easily add up to couple hundred dollars. We were here yesterday, a Sunday, at about 11am. It was pretty busy but the staff were good at keeping things flowing. Things I liked: Photographer was great. She was amazing at working quickly yet still getting us in the right positions with props angled just right. She awesome at getting the baby to look at her and smile. She was a real professional and better than photographers we had at Babies R Us and Picture People. The photographer made this well worth it. Things I didn't like: We said that we wanted the baby who is an 11 month girl to be dressed like a girl. The young females in the back, while very nice, put her in what looks like boy's Indian costume and then kept trying to put a cowboy hat on her, which also made her look like a boy. Luckily, the photographer knew to put a band with feathers around her head which helped. During check out, the prices were very confusing and they wouldn't let me use a coupon that I got out of a coupon book that I picked up in OC MD. They kept saying they already gave me a discount by the package we got and I was not about to fight over a $3 coupon when we had a baby that needed to be fed. I felt very rushed at the end when selecting the photos we wanted. Signs for prices could also give better clarification and I didn't see anything posted online or take out pamphlets in the store with pricing which I find shady. Prices are as follows for either 1 8x10 or 2 5x7s: $29.99- for one person $5 for each additional person Additional sheet (whether 8x10, wallets or 5x7) are $14.99 Family package- $24.99- the store didn't have a description of this posted but sales associate at the end informed us that it is essentially 2 sheets so you save $5. Then there are additional charges for stuff like color, black and white and other options- They show you the different options and prices on the computer before checking out and how it would change the photo. We felt that the options didn't add anything to the photos and the basic photo without the additional features looked better. We paid $44.99 for the 8x10 with 4 of us. Then we did the family package which gave us 2 wallets and a 5x7 of our family picture and then another 2 wallets and a 5x7 of just the baby. We paid $5 to have the baby only pic in color. At the end of the day, I paid just under $80 for 3 sheets of photos (1 8x10, 2 5x7 and a few wallets.) Another issue that I have is when we were ready to pay, they put our pictures in photo frames and then told us to pick a frame which are all extra and anywhere from $8 to $20. Then when we said that we didn't want to buy a frame, they put the photos in cheap, paper/ cardboard cut outs. These paper cut outs normally come for free elsewhere to keep your photos from being damaged, but this place wanted to charge $2-$5 for each cheap cut out that they had displayed and labeled as "matte frames"- what a joke. We got the photos only. If you need to buy a photo frame, then ok, but to charge up to $5 for a piece of paper to temporarily stick your photo in is such a joke- they should be ashamed to even charge for such a thing. I feel bad for the employees who are told to offer such a thing. read more

This place is horrible, literally had 3, 4 year olds 1, 8 year old and 1, 6 year old redsy to take photos. Fully dressed like mermaids and pirate's and they told us we cannot get photos done due to fact that their camera tech flipped out on our husband's. Our kids were in their full attire ready to get photos but they kicked us out, due to the fact that they kept switching us around 3 different times yelled at us so my husband got a little annoyed with them and they kicked us out. If you have young children I deftly recommended that you not take them there. read more

I do this every year for the last three years and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. This particular experience after my husband and I got dressed up = my two year old decided no thank you. I was not going to force her so in my mind I already decided it would have to be just my husband and I because we already got dressed up but they had a WONDERFUL girl (Nataliya?) who became my daughter's new bff and got her to dress up and take photos :) They are professionals and went above and beyond. I love the photos and the staff are personable and helpful... I don't like the prices and yes it gets confusing with all the sales pitches but in all fairness they explain it as they go through it all and they are here and paid to make money of course. I will definitely be back for our annual girls weekend in the summer! read more

What trip to the beach doesn't end with an old time photo? There are several spots along the boardwalk to choose from, but this was the one my boyfriend wanted most, so without hesitation (since we'd already discussed this on our walk), we went inside to make magic happen...picture magic. Hopefully we end up on the wall since this was one of the funniest pictures I'd ever taken with anyone in a costume. Everyone always goes for the saloon style ones, but we went for 1920's beach pro's in stripped swimsuits (shirt and pants to match), I wore the mans suit as well (which made it THAT much better in the photo) and it was a CLASSIC shot. The service is quick, you know the staff has been doing this for awhile (even though they're young, they've got a good system). Lots of fun doing this and I highly recommend taking photos here if you never have before. read more

Constant upselling and just as much snacking! A seemingly fun event was brought down a lot by sloppy workers more intent on eating than helping customers. Hands were wiped on clothing and crumbs dropped everywhere, despite watching eyes. Not sure what else to say than it was gross putting on uncleaned Dorito (as well as other snack foods) covered clothes. To close it all out, an already expensive (and unsanitary) product ...extras are annoyingly pushed on you at the checkout. In short, a fun experience to start, quickly fizzled by the end. read more

I stopped by here while on vacation, browsing the boardwalk. Our pictures were very rushed and unorganized. We were the only ones there. I did not like any of the group pictures- but the person working said I HAD to pick one and pay the 44.95 because we all sat for the picture. So I picked one of the group, and one of just kids. Then he charged me 9.90 for special effects I did NOT ask for! Very much a rip off I will NOT go there or recommend! $71 for 2 prints- NOT at all worth it!! read more

They have staff which will lure you in to click a picture. We were a family of 4. They told us it will cost $49.97 for 1 8x10. They put us into our costumes, which was fine but the Manager Jason (who was very perverted and foul mouth not only to his staff that we overhead but also to us). He was using f bombs in front of our children. Finally, the shoot got over and we had to go pay. They say it's $199.99 to get 6 photos on a CD, not even a dvd made so the family could watch or something but a COMPACT DISC AND IT LOOKED LIKE THEY JUST PURCHASED IT FROM WALMART. The guy who gave us the $49.97 quote had disappeared . After being accosted by the perverted manager he insisted we get the $200 disc. That is a ridiculously high price, it didn't even include any frames, only 3 photo paper copies (less than one dollars worth of paper of pictures that looked as though our four year old had taken them and Jason, the so called manager had taken them! Then comes the next part of the scam; a color picture was an additional $5 per printout, and if we wanted a frame it was $19.99 and up for crappy looking frames that looked chipped and broken and like they had been poorly handled. Meanwhile, the Manager is cursing and flirting with a female coworker in what sounded extremely sexual. After this they didn't even have the courtesy to put the 3 copies in something to protect them and we were having bad weather that day. I ask the manager for an extra bag and he said we have envelopes but you have to pay $5.99 per envelope. Everything is an add on. On top of that, while waiting a few of their song said racial slurs about us calling black people N words and cursing. We had few kids with so that cost us $9.99/kid extra to begin with and we just wanted to just leave but our kids were getting anxious and wanted a photo and were set on getting a photo that we just paid for one and left. Picture taking went well, girls were very helpful and the shoot went smoothly. I still think you need to take more than 3 pictures to get one really great one. Maybe take 10-12 and pick the best one? We had 3 to pick from. We had a group of 6 people. The associate who showed us our pictures on the computer screen explained the pricing options. Sort of! Somewhat confusing and quite a bit of fast talking. She took out her calculator and told us it would be $98 for the group picture and 3 individual pictures with an upgraded color finish. We all chipped in our part. Then she added it up on the cash register and said it was actually going to be $110. I asked why it had gone up as we hadn't made any more changes, and she said that she must have forgotten to add in 2 of the $5 color upgrades. I asked if she could throw them in for free seeing we were buying a lot of pictures and she said only a manager could authorize that and there wasn't one in the store. So we recalculated what each person owed and started chipping in again. After we had paid $90 (cash increments from each person) the last person that paid their part was told that she owed $28. I said no, it should be a balance of $20. She told me that the part of the cash register that faces the customer and shows you the $ amount was not accurate. Some of the display doesn't light up so what looked like $110 was actually $118. So... another $8. This is extremely shady. She told us $110 verbally AND we saw it on the display so this seems like a racket. $118 for 4 sheets of photos is a LOT of money. Of course, you're free to walk away and not buy them. We chose to buy them. They're cool. But the way the cost went from the agreed upon $98, then to $110 and finally to $118 left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Transparency, people! read more
